Chapter 151 - 146: Jimmy Has No Friends
The Northern New Continent.
Luh Yao’s view was locked onto the top of the snowman’s head.
He didn’t know if hatching an egg induced some kind of stiffness. In any case, Jimmy remained completely motionless, so quiet that Luh Yao almost didn’t recognize him.
In the Dragon Egg’s interface, the [Hatching Brand] was also slowly progressing.
Luh Yao suspected that by the time the Dark Sun snuck out again, the egg might still just be an egg.
The Dark Sun didn’t drop any loot, and if he destroyed one, another would just appear.
The sun also rises, indeed.
Just as he was waiting, a long notification suddenly popped up in the simulator.
[From the first bolt of lightning to the turning of Eras, Your great power has filled the countless lives on the ground with fear and reverence. Innumerable Miracles have forged the foundations of civilization and Faith. Your Believers have never wavered in their conviction.]
[The Immortal Miracles You displayed have made volcanoes erupt and the Sun fall. The great power of a God has echoed throughout the world.]
—Your followers are now numerous enough to establish a new people. You shall name them the ___ Race.
There was no need for hesitation.
Luh Yao tapped a few keys on his keyboard.
[Your Miracles and Faith have given official birth to the Yao Race. The Yao Divine Hall and the Yao Race will become known to more people in faraway lands.]
[In praise of You, the Yao Race has created a brand new festival.]
—You shall name it the ___ Festival.
Luh Yao was a bit surprised.
’A divine festival?’
He thought for a moment.
This series of events had stemmed from his handling of the Dark Sun.
The simulator had described it very clearly as well.
Luh Yao typed two more words.
[Due to the Sunset Festival, the Yao Race has developed a fanatical reverence for You, and their Faith has increased significantly.]
[Each Sunset Festival will bring You a certain amount of Faith.]
Luh Yao reflexively glanced at the top right corner.
Faith: 96,013
Seeing that his Faith had doubled relative to his population, Luh Yao no longer lost his composure and started shadowboxing like he did at first.
He took out a glass, calmly poured himself some canned cola, added three ice cubes, and took a sip to celebrate. But the hand holding the glass wouldn’t stop shaking.
Luh Yao took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down.
’Just a small windfall, no big deal!’
’I shouldn’t get sidetracked. The Dragon Egg is what’s most important right now.’
’Come on, Snowman, are you up to this or not?’
’Hm?’
Luh Yao had started to type a line of text above the snowman’s head.
In the end, however, he deleted it all.
Since the snowman said it could hatch the egg, he should just let it try.
Luh Yao waited patiently, keeping an eye out for the Dark Sun’s reappearance.
Monsters were roaming the Northern New Continent, and some had already approached the area where the snowman was hiding.
They were a species called Ice Giant Monsters.
Ice Giant Monsters were tall and brawny, each standing two or three times the height of the little people. Their skin was white with a pale blue tint, and their bodies were jagged and angular, as if they were formed from condensed blocks of ice.
...
[Ice Giant Monster LV18]

[Ice Elemental]

...
These Giant Monsters were behemoths to the little people, but against the snowman’s 62 defense points, they couldn’t even scratch it.
However, Jimmy was currently hatching the egg and could not be disturbed.
Luh Yao considered sending the Blood Knight over.
But there was no Divine Hall on this Northern New Continent, and it would take Necied a considerable amount of time to travel there underwater.
Isabel had to keep watch over the Dark Sun, so she couldn’t be spared either.
Then Luh Yao thought of a suitable candidate.
Selena.
She had mentioned that she had already placed her mirrors in most parts of this world.
By using her [Mirror Country], Selena could instantly arrive at any location where a mirror was placed. This Divine Skill made her practically omnipresent.
Upon receiving the command, Selena stepped into the [Mirror Country] on the Divine Hall wall. The next moment, she appeared at the foot of an Ice Mountain on the Northern New Continent. After a few more short traversals, she arrived at the snowman’s location.
Then she activated Tyrant mode.
Wielding her Bone Sword, Selena dismembered the twenty-some Ice Giant Monsters within view into a field of ice shards in under a minute. The more distant Giant Monsters were so terrified they hid in the snow-capped mountains, not daring to peek out.
"My lord, shall I exterminate all the Ice Giant Monsters?"
It seemed Selena hadn’t had her fill of battle yet.
Luh Yao told her to stop.
The snowman’s hatching of the egg was the priority right now.
And so, a very strange scene unfolded on the game screen.
Tyrant Selena stood leaning on her sword. Behind her, a carrot-nosed snowman was partially covered in snow, looking almost like a handicraft Selena had just finished making.
The Hatching Brand’s progress bar continued to creep forward.
11302/13333
11303/13333
...
A dialogue box suddenly popped up above Selena’s head.
"My lord, Necied has improved tremendously."
"If you would permit it, I hope to receive a similar opportunity next time to conquer other worlds on Your behalf."
"I will do better than he did and offer You even more Faith and spoils of war."
Luh Yao knew at once what this was about.
She was getting competitive.
Selena had a strong competitive drive. Necied, who was previously a lower level than her, had gone on an expedition to another world and shot straight up to LV83. This had seriously provoked the Female Tyrant.
She was pure in a different sense; she always wanted to be the best at everything. Praise her, and she would be happy.
This was likely a big reason why, in the past, the Forest God had been able to fool her, manipulating her emotions and making her take the fall for him.
Luh Yao typed a reply.
—The next opportunity is yours.
Upon receiving her God’s promise, a smile immediately appeared above Selena’s head.
She knelt on one knee. "Thank you for Your acknowledgment and trust. I will do everything in my power and give my all for Your Fire of Faith!"
Luh Yao took a sip of his cola.
’I wonder how Selena survived her time as a Witch.’
’Was it because she was such a good fighter that no one dared to mess with her?’
Just then, the snowman, which had been completely still, suddenly began to tremble.
Luh Yao held his breath in concentration.
The snowman wobbled to its feet, took off its fluffy hat with its red-gloved hands, and out from its head flew a... Dragon.
Luh Yao narrowed his eyes.
It was indeed a Dragon. The text above its head read [Juvenile Dragon].
It was just a bit miniature—even smaller than the snowman’s head.
It was pitch-black and flapped its wings, stumbling unsteadily through the air. But the Juvenile Dragon quickly mastered the art of flying. It began to circle the snowman, showing a clear attachment to Jimmy.
Luh Yao clicked on the [Juvenile Dragon].
...
[Juvenile Dragon LV20][Loyal to Yao God]
Life Value: 2999/2999
Mana Value: 334/334
Damage: 24
Defense: 20
Speed: 12
[Brand]
Snowman Jimmy.
[Dragon]
A member of the Dragon Race. Possesses extreme Longevity, Exquisite all-around abilities, and high growth potential, but its growth is also rather slow.
[Treasure Devourer]
The Dragon Race is utterly obsessed with all treasures and rare collectibles. It will swallow treasures to store them within its body. The more treasures it holds, the stronger its abilities become.
[Dragon Language Magic]
Speaks the Dragon Language to use the various forms of Magic stored in its bloodline memory.
[Dark Sun Dragon]
A member of the Dragon Race, guided and condensed into being by the Dark Sun. It can continuously draw power from the Dark Sun to grow rapidly. As the head of the Dark Race, it exerts Suppression over all other Dark Race members. The Suppression’s effectiveness depends on the Dark Sun Dragon’s level.
[High-Level Exemption LV1]
Has a chance to avoid incoming damage and a very high probability of being unaffected by Magic Abilities.
...
Luh Yao couldn’t help but whistle in amazement.
With this kind of power and these stats, a fully grown Dark Sun Dragon would be an ultimate final boss. In a Fragment World, it could truly do as it pleased.
It was a good thing he’d gotten it under control while it was still an egg.
Snowman Jimmy hopped up and down. "Lord God, the Dragon has hatched! Please give it a name. From this day forward, it will fight for Your Fire of Faith!"
A prompt appeared on the screen.
[Snowman Jimmy has Tamed a Dark Sun Dragon, making it pledge allegiance to You.]
—You shall name it ___.
Luh Yao thought for a moment.
He typed a question for Jimmy.
—Jimmy, who is your best friend?
"Lord God, Jimmy has no friends."
"But Jimmy once dreamed he had a friend. It was another snowman named Pasha." As he spoke of this non-existent snowman, a large smiling-face icon popped up above his head.
The name was decided.
Luh Yao looked at the little Black Dragon circling the snowman.
’Dreams really do come true, Jimmy.’
’You have a friend now.’
