From Wizard Apprentice to Conqueror of Myriad Worlds

Chapter 95 - 81: Reward from a Level 3 Wizard

For Mo Ning, once he found the key clue, the rest was simple.

With a mere thought, ethereal straight lines shot out from the center of the stone stele, radiating in all directions.

Immediately after, a series of concentric rings appeared, expanding outward from the stele, one after another.

The lines and rings crisscrossed, spreading over the ground and dividing the leaf-strewn earth into a countless number of tiny grids.

This was the Fan Domain—a standard tool in Secret Divination and Divination used for analyzing spatial distribution.

The eight white birch trees instantly became ethereal, their outlines glowing faintly within the Fan Domain’s grid.

Each tree represented a coordinate within the Fan Domain.

But determining the Fan Domain’s starting line and dividing its angles and radii was another tedious task.

An ordinary Apprentice would have to toil for several days at the very least.

But Mo Ning found it far too simple.

The Eye of Truth was perfectly suited for handling such repetitive, calculation-intensive tasks.

An ethereal panel materialized from thin air. A torrent of data surged from the depths of his consciousness, unfurling across the luminous screen.

A mere five seconds later, the results were in.

A Fan Domain coordinate composed of three numbers popped up next to each birch tree: a high-domain value, a mid-domain value, and a low-domain value.

From the perspective of Secret Divination and Divination, these values symbolized Spiritual Power, Magic Power, and Spirit Ring—the three pillars that supported the Witchcraft World.

Mo Ning glanced at the results and smiled again. "The sum of the high-, mid-, and low-domain values is always 8. Interesting."

This was clearly a deliberate design.

He had become quite familiar with the puzzle maker’s style—this Wizard loved to hide easter eggs in numbers and bury surprises in formulas.

He was certain this was the right path forward.

Mo Ning thought with a hint of annoyance, ’Time to put on a show again.’

Obtaining the Fan Domain coordinates through mental calculation alone was simply too outrageous.

Even an Official Wizard would likely struggle to do that. They would have to cast the Magic Pen Technique and Magic Paper Technique on the spot to perform the calculations "by hand."

At his current level, Mo Ning couldn’t possibly have mastered these two Level Zero Witchcraft spells. He could only resort to performing a "truly manual" calculation.

He took two small wooden spheres from the pocket of his blue robe.

The spheres were about the size of a pigeon’s egg, their smooth surfaces gleaming with a soft luster in the Lantern’s light.

He channeled a wisp of Spiritual Power into them, and the wooden spheres instantly leaped from his hand.

With two soft POPS, the wooden spheres burst in mid-air.

A mass of slender rattan threads erupted forth. The threads rapidly interlaced, twisted, and wove together in mid-air, as if countless invisible hands were working in unison.

In the blink of an eye, a rattan chair and table materialized before Mo Ning.

Because the threads were so fine and tightly woven, the tabletop wasn’t uneven as one might expect. Instead, it looked remarkably flat.

These were the items he had purchased from Dawa’s Grocery List: a Rattan Chair Sphere and a Rattan Table Sphere.

When activated, they transformed into a table and chair.

Activating the table and chair again would revert them back into small spheres, making them easy to carry.

However, they could only be used one hundred times. After that, the rattan threads would become brittle and snap easily.

They couldn’t be considered true Witchcraft Items; at best, they were magical trinkets.

The Rattan Chair Sphere had cost him 2 Black Tower Points, while the Rattan Table Sphere cost 3.

Most Apprentices couldn’t bear to spend the points on them, but Mo Ning wasn’t short on funds, so he had bought them without a second thought.

He sat down nonchalantly and hung the Lantern on the rattan table.

A small stand extended from the table’s upper-left corner, perfectly positioned to hold the Lantern’s handle. Light spilled down from above, brightly illuminating the tabletop.

It was a rather thoughtful design; the creator had clearly considered its practical use.

Mo Ning took a stack of blank scale pattern paper from his robe pocket and spread it across the tabletop.

And so he sat, out in the desolate wilds amidst the cold wind and fallen leaves, and began the charade of calculating the Fan Domain coordinates.

「Three minutes later.」

He finished his "transcription," neatly writing a long string of coordinate values onto the paper.

Within the Divination Calculator’s interface, the data torrent continued to flow.

This was his "cheat" calculating Laxi’s balance equation.

It first substituted the hundreds of Divination symbols from the five landscape paintings into Laxi’s balance equation. With the Fan Domain coordinates as constraints, it then ran through layers of transformations, nesting, and iterations to finally solve for a complex result.

Without the Fan Domain coordinates, the computational load would have increased by at least ten thousandfold.

Mo Ning’s Ink Tube Pen didn’t stop. He continued to rapidly write one Divination Formula after another on the paper.

He disguised the true calculation process as a "manual derivation," breaking down the results from his cheat into seemingly logical steps and writing them out, stroke by painstaking stroke.

The cold wind had been drifting through the woods for fifteen minutes.

Mo Ning finally put down his Ink Tube Pen.

The final result had appeared—a numerical string: "1-1/4-3-3/4".

The numbers possessed a certain pattern and elegance. Anyone with experience would know at a glance that this was undoubtedly the correct answer.

However, going from the numerical string to the solution required a leap of logic.

Mo Ning pondered for a few seconds before a broad smile spread across his face. "I’ve got it."

The stone stele was engraved with four words: "Cabin in the Woods."

The first number, "1," clearly pointed to the first word, "Cabin"; the third number, "3," must be the third word, "the."

The "1/4" and "3/4" are Fan Domain fluctuation values. By performing a Fan Domain transformation on them, you can obtain two Spiritual Spectrum values.

It was obvious how to solve the puzzle now.

Mo Ning stood up, walked over to the stone stele, and crouched down.

The Lantern’s light fell upon the face of the stele, making the mottled Secret Spirit Text clearly visible.
