Chapter 46
Chapter 46
When I came to again, the hood was ripped off my head. I blink against the harsh lights in the warehouse. Or basement. I had no idea where I was.
The floor was concrete. The walls were bare brick. There were no windows, so I didn’t know if it was day or night or how long I was out of it. I didn’t even know if I was in New York or Texas.
My wrists were bound to a steel chair.
Across from me stood Angelo Bianco. He wore an expensive suit, the suit cost more than my first car did. His dark hair gelled back. Black leather shoes shiny as if it was brand new.
His calm expression sent shivers down my spine. I didn’t want to look at him.
He looked more like a businessman than a thug, he looked nothing like the man who beat me up just two weeks ago.
He smiles at me. "Austin, Austin, Austin..."
I knew that smile, it meant I would be losing a least half of my organs today or he’d beat me in an inch of my life.
Angelo Bianco. The man was the brother of the head of the Bianco family and the enforcer. He did the dirty work for his brother and did it with a smile on his face.
He walked towards me with the biggest grin on his face. "You know when I got the call that you faked your death, I laughed out. Who would have guessed you pissed off more than just my family. To think you actually hurt my cousins girl to. You know you’d be screwed if he was in the country..." He laughed.
"I didn’t..." I didn’t know what the hell he was speaking about. He must have gotten me mixed up with someone else.
"You’ve caused my family quite a bit of inconvenience Austin..." he sighs.
"I-I can explain—" I try to say.
He raised one finger. "No. You see I’ve dealt with enough addicts to know they lie every chance they get. And they try to get out of the loans they’ve made. I think I’ve heard enough of your excuses."
He glanced towards one of his men. "You faked your death but you motherfucker didn’t realize someone was watching you and you fell right into their trap. I was asked to make sure you don’t leave here a live..." He laughs. "I was paid to torture you. You debts have been paid off..."
The guards laugh too.
I wasn’t leaving here a live? What the hell was I getting myself into?
"Please... Please Angelo. I can get the money. My girl. She’s got money. Once I get her..."
Enzo sighs dramatically. "I find that disrespectful. You’re calling my cousin’s girl your girl. Koah Harbor was the one woman you should never have put your hands on..."
"Just get me Koah and I can pay. She’s my girl I promise..." I beg.
"You see that’s where you’re wrong. You beat my cousins girl and it pissed him off. Yesterday I had a very long conversation with the man I haven’t spoken to in over ten years. He only asked that you die a long and painful death. Enzo was really pissed off. You see you could touch anyone on this planet but her..." He sits down in front of me.
I look at him confused. "Koah that cheating bitch!" I spit.
I knew it. She was cheating on me. She got me to borrow from the Bianco family so she could get me killed. She must have planned all of this. "She deserves everything I gave her!" I shout.
Angelo laughs. "You think cursing a woman is going to save you? I heard that mistress of yours, reported you to the police for rape and assault."
I look up at him in shock. "What?" I ask in disbelief.
"Well her parents found her passed out and took her to the hospital where she claimed you raped her, blackmailed her into having the baby after you found out she was pregnant and then you beat her when she found out you stole from her... It seems the little girl doesn’t want you dying an honourable death..."
I didn’t say anything but look down. What could I say exactly? Koah betrayed me and left me for dead. Melissa lied and got me in trouble.
Even if I got out of this hell hole alive there’s no way the church would welcome me with open arms. I’d be known as a woman beater and a rapist.
"Angelo please..." I beg.
Another smile. "You can beg me all you want." He stops beside me. "But you see today isn’t about money. Today is about teaching you something important. You made my men and I chase you all the way to fucking Texas!"
He looked towards his men standing behind him. "You know what happens to someone who lies to my family? Oh it’s not like you can ask them can you? They’re all six feet under or the bottom of the ocean rotting away..."
"I think he needs to lose something to realize his mistake boss..." One of his men says.
Angelo laughs. "Yes, I believe he does..." He looks at the man that spoke then back at me.
"You promised to pay us back double. You lied to me Austin..." He says slowly lifting my chin to look right at his face.
I had the urge to spit in his face. But stopped myself. "I wasn’t..." He cut me off by squeezing my jaw too tightly.
I wanted to scream out but he looked at his guard, the man too off his shoes and took of his socks.
I look in horror and he stuffed the dirty smelly socks into my mouth.
The sour smell hit me instantly, I gagged but it went down my throat.
I tried my best to spit it out but I couldn’t spit it out.
Duct tape was wrapped around my mouth to stop me from spitting it out.
Panic rushed through me.
"No!" I screamed but it was muffled by the socks and duct tape.
Angelo smiled satisfied then took out a knife from his pocket. He then reached for my hand tried to the steel chairs arms.
He cut off my pinky finger with a bright smile on his face.
"This is your first reminder of what I could do to you."
The pain ripped through me worse than anything I’ve ever felt before in my life. My entire body lurches against the chains that tied me down.
The room filled with my muffled screams.
I couldn’t breathe, I could barely think straight. My vision was blurring.
I watched as Angelo took a step back and threw my finger across the room like it was nothing.
"The piece of shits finger is even more worthless than he is."
His men laugh like he had said the funniest thing in the world. Angelo laughed with them, not as loudly as they were but enough for it to sting.
I in that moment realize the man was in fucking sane. There’s no way this man should be walking the streets.
He should be locked up in a mad house.
What the hell did I get myself into? How the hell was I supposed to make it out alive?
"Sir the doctor will be here in two hours..." One of his men says once they’re done laughing at me.
I gagged again, because of the sock.
"Tell them to hurry it up. I need to know if he has any viable organs we could use before we start on the little project for Enzo..."
That sends a shiver down my spine.
The man was so fucking crazy. Tears streamed down my face. I want out. I need to get the hell out of here. I tried to break free, trying to scream so someone can come and save me.
"No one can hear you Austin scream all you want. We’re in a basement with soundproof. No one can hear you scream even if you could scream." Angelo says. "People always think they can get away with shit and then when they’re caught they want someone to come and save them. Like they’re not in this situation because of themselves."
He crouched until we were eye level. "It’s funny how you borrowed money you knew you couldn’t pay back, but now you’re looking at me like I’m the devil. Like I am the reason you’re in this mess... This is a hell of your own making Austin..." He tells me.
Even if I wanted to answer him I couldn’t. This wasn’t my fault. it’s Koah’s she left me high and dry. If it wasn’t for her. I wouldn’t be in this mess. This man was going to kill me.
He stood, straightening his suit jacket. "You have two hours..." he says.
He looked at one of his men. "You can play with him, but make sure he doesn’t die or hurts any of his organs." he warns.
They all nod.
"Yes boss." Angelo walks toward the steel door at the far end of the room. He pauses at the door looking at me. "Now that your debts been paid. I get to have fun with you for six days."He says looking back over his shoulder, smiling pleasantly. Like he was speaking about the weather.
The door closes behind him and I’m alone with men I fear more than I do Angelo.
Faking my death had been a misjudgement on my part. All it did was make the Bianco’s angry.
I was going to pay for this. I knew that. All I could think about was Koah betraying me. She had an out. She had an in with the Bianco family.
She played me. If I died in this basement. I’d haunt Koah for the rest of her life. I’d make her life a living hell. The same way she made mine.
