Chapter 239: Entry
"This nobody overstepped his bounds numerous times, and he and his ancestors plotted against the Kingdom of Light for thousands of years until they nearly brought it down!" Vaelor’s words echoed in the ears of everyone listening to and watching the broadcast...
"And had I not appeared at the right time, the Kingdom of Light would have been lost to oblivion by now!"
Everyone watched Imris place one hand behind his back, raising the other upward, and heard Vaelor’s voice again...
"For every city destroyed because of you, for every soldier martyred on the battlefield because of your scheming, for every family shattered and scattered as a result of your deeds, and for every innocent who died because of your greed... today the tables turn against you, and the world forgets you and forgets your kingdom for what you wove against others!"
Vaelor’s cold, haughty voice echoed everywhere, and the moment this signal was heard, a black blade formed around Imris’s raised hand and descended toward the Falcon King’s neck...
Everyone watched with astonished eyes as that blade, determined to sever that neck, descended, while the Falcon King’s gaze remained vacant as he looked ahead, kneeling on his hands and feet like a dog, bound in chains from every direction, wearing nothing but a piece of cloth barely covering his nakedness... he looked as though he had lost himself!
Slash!
The black blade finally came down and severed the Falcon King’s head from his neck, and the head rolled across the ground where his throne, on which he’d once sat in grandeur, used to stand, and those vacant eyes never left his gaze even after his death... and finally everyone heard Vaelor’s voice again...
Welcome, everyone, to the bank!
The moment this was said, the lights above the banks vanished and the banks themselves lit up with brilliant lights, and all their doors were opened in preparation to receive their visitors.
Nearly everyone remained standing in place, looking at where the broadcast had been just seconds before in astonishment, not yet emerged from that shock.
The Falcon King, who had been considered one of the strongest people on the continent before Vaelor’s appearance, had died just like that... at the hands of a child?
"Shall we go in?" at the borders of the Elven Kingdom of Nature, most of the elves looked toward the bank with some tension and fear, and one of the elves asked the King.
"Mm!" the elf king narrowed his eyes sharply, then after some intense thought he looked at one of the young elves beside him; "if anything happens to me inside, you will be my successor after me!"
"As you command, Father" that young man bowed politely to the elf king, not letting emotions overtake him nor asking unnecessary questions after seeing the king had made up his mind.
"Alright then, Ghul, Paul, come with me!" the King nodded and gestured to two of his ministers, leaving the rest with his son and taking a few dozen Third Level warriors with him, in addition to a few thousand of the Second and First Levels.
The three, the King and the two ministers, flew off, having gone ahead of the subjects toward the bank.
Upon arriving, they immediately stopped outside the bank’s boundaries, their eyes widening at what they saw.
Before them, in front of the bank’s gate, stood ten guards... ten Fourth Level guards wearing Fourth Level armor and gear!
"Th... this!" Minister Paul stammered, looking at the King with worry "my liege, must we truly enter"
The King furrowed his brows deeply and looked at those ten guards with concern, but in the end he made up his mind "come on, we must go in and find out what this organization is that opened near our kingdom and homeland!"
Immediately after saying this, the King advanced toward the bank, and the moment he arrived, someone welcomed him...
"Welcome, Lord Dee, to the Ninth Branch of the bank!"
An elf with golden hair stood right behind the bank’s gate, wearing majestic clothing, and King Dee was surprised when he sensed the aura of those clothes — it was a Fourth Level aura. Which meant those clothes were Fourth Level gear.
Fourth Level armor in the form of clothing... something he’d never heard of before.
Then that elf, the smile never leaving his face, looked at the two ministers behind King Dee "welcome, Lords Ghul and Paul, to our humble bank"
The host elf addressed the King and the two ministers merely with the title of Lord without calling them by their real titles, yet they didn’t dare object for even a moment... for from what they’d seen of this bank so far, they’d pay a very steep price if they decided to stir up trouble!
"Greetings, elf brother... but forgive us, we don’t yet know your esteemed name" Minister Ghul stepped forward slightly, asking with a forced smile.
"Hahahaha, there’s no need for all this modesty, Lord Ghul" the host elf laughed, placing his hand over his chest "I am Host Halan, your guide for today"
"Thank you, Host Halan, for this special welcome, but we don’t yet know what you’ll be guiding us to?" Minister Paul stepped forward as well, asking about the bank’s function, for up to this moment they still didn’t know what it was for!
"Please follow me, gentlemen!" Host Halan smiled and gestured with his hand for them to follow him, advancing ahead of them.
The three looked at each other, then nodded together and advanced behind Host Halan.
The moment they took a single step inside the bank, they didn’t feel the solid ground they’d expected, but felt as though they were stepping on something soft, slightly gel-like!
That floor wasn’t so soft that it would sink them down, nor so hard like ordinary ground... rather it was soft and comfortable, such that one walking on it wouldn’t feel its hardness!
And the moment they entered and saw what the edifice looked like, their eyes widened a little in surprise.
They had known well that this edifice called the bank was a gigantic structure, but no one could truly know how enormous it was until they were inside... not to mention all those statues, sculptures, jewels, arrays, and glowing screens, and the extravagance they’d never seen the likes of before or heard of!
"The bank, gentlemen, is fundamentally an investment and commercial center first and foremost, and you’ve heard this from His Majesty King Vaelor before, so I won’t speak much on this subject" Host Halan turned to the King and the two ministers and gestured toward several places in the massive edifice...
The Dragon King and his retinue followed the guide working at the bank, and they were astonished to see fifteen gigantic doors inside the main building, each door leading to a different direction and building.
"You’ll find, gentlemen, on the right side, the area where weapons are sold, known as the Weapons Area" the guide advanced toward the Weapons Area, guiding the Dragon King and his ministers. And after entering through the Weapons Area’s gate, they found numerous shops before them, and this building rose three gigantic stories upward!
"You’ll find here, gentlemen, Third Level weapons" the guide gestured toward dozens of gigantic shops filled with every type of weapon, especially spears, due to the Dragon race’s preference for them.
"Third Level weapons!" one of the Dragon race’s ministers looked at all these axes, armor, and swords, his eyes gleaming when he saw all those spears, then he turned back to look at the guide again, asking...
"But are there no First and Second Level weapons?"
"Hahahaha, Lord Maron, you’re surely joking, such a low level of weaponry cannot possibly be sold here" the guide placed his hand over his mouth, laughing a little, then returned it behind his back again, smiling...
"In truth, gentlemen, we were hesitant at first about displaying Third Level weapons even in the bank, due to the low level of their power as well, but since the kingdoms of this world are still weak, the High Administration settled the matter by placing them here temporarily until the situation of the new era stabilizes!"
The kingdoms of this world are still weak?
Third Level weapons, low-level?
These two questions echoed in their minds, and the Dragon King gritted his teeth hard, forcing himself to smile.
They were being described as weaklings... but he couldn’t do anything about it, because from the power the bank had displayed so far, the Black Dragon Kingdom truly was weak before them. So they had no choice but to endure and stay silent about this insult.
And those Third Level weapons were given to the elite among the warriors in the Black Dragon Kingdom, but here they were being sold as side items, and there were enormous quantities of them too!
"You’re saying Third Level weapons barely rise to the required standard. So do you sell weapons of higher levels?!"
