Abyss Tree Evolution: A Mission to Conquer the World

Chapter 97: Fate Gem

"Lily, is there anything that can allow me to see my fate... even if it’s only a few glimpses?"

Rios frowned and recalled all the strange things that had happened to him.

Strange things...?

Yes...!

It was true that everything had happened extremely quickly for Rios since coming to this world, and that less than a month had passed since his birth in this world...

Yet, many strange events had occurred to him...

Starting from his belief that he had been reborn in this world...

Then obtaining that strange system, which he always had doubts about...

Then hearing that strange voice that spoke to him through the system...

Then his own thoughts changing, realizing that he might not have been reborn after all, and that they were nothing more than memories that had been passed on to him, or visions of another person’s life...

Or perhaps something strange among those cosmic miracles.

In addition to that fortune teller in the market, toward whom Rios had never felt at ease.

It wasn’t that he didn’t believe his wife Elena’s words.

Rather, he had searched for every piece of information related to that fortune teller...

And he found that what Elena said was true.

However, there was always something telling him that she wasn’t that simple...

In addition to all those small, incomprehensible whispers that occasionally echoed deep inside him...

And now, this strange feeling of deadly peace...

All of these seemed like strange events that could happen to anyone...

Especially after learning that obtaining a system in this universe was not something extremely rare or unusual.

Yet there was always something inside him that constantly raised doubts.

However, those doubts were usually small and only appeared from time to time.

So Rios ignored them, thinking they were merely strange symptoms or hallucinations.

But since he exited the Eternal Path realm, only a few seconds had passed...

And those doubts had strangely intensified.

In a way they had never appeared before.

In a way that was difficult to ignore.

And ever since those doubts appeared, they refused to stop...

Instead, they grew stronger with every passing second.

He wanted to know what was happening inside him, and he thought of two ways to solve this problem.

First...

By visiting the greatest organization in possession of the universe’s secrets...

The Court of Secrets.

Rios couldn’t go to a doctor.

He wasn’t sick.

And he couldn’t go to one of those Wis either.

He wasn’t insane, nor did he have lost or scattered thoughts.

What he wanted to know was whether there was any information about such a condition or not.

If there was, he would ask about a solution.

And if there wasn’t...

Or if it was some strange condition...

Or if the answer didn’t satisfy him...

Then he would have no choice but to resort to the solution that had immediately come to his mind the moment he remembered the fortune teller from the market.

That was...

Seeing fate!

It might sound strange, as though it was something from fantasy.

But within this strange world and these astonishing cosmic laws...

Something like seeing fate wouldn’t be that unusual...

Would it?

"There definitely is, Sir. In a world built upon the Laws of existence, what could truly be impossible?"

Lily’s melodious voice echoed inside Rios’s mind.

Rios immediately felt happy because of this answer, and quickly asked again.

"Who sells such methods, and where can I find them?"

"Such methods are rare, Sir, but they do exist."

Lily’s cheerful voice answered, then she quickly continued.

"The simplest ones are the Revealed Fortune Cards, which are sold by the Court of Secrets.

These cards, which belong to the Cosmic Law of Luck, are capable of allowing you, Sir, to see glimpses of your fortune.

There are also more expensive things, such as some rare Star Treasures, but such items are only sold at major auctions.

And there is the best item that can be purchased in this category..."

The Fate Gem!

"The Fate Gem?!

What is that?"

Rios felt a sense of awe at the name itself, and quickly asked.

"The Fate Gem, Sir, is one of the most magnificent creations of the Ancestor of Secrets.

It is the result of merging many Laws together to create something beyond the ordinary and incredibly wondrous.

It allows you to see glimpses of your future, but not in the form your true future actually appears...

Instead, you must rely on yourself to deduce and understand what you can from those glimpses."

Lily spoke with a solemn voice, as if she was explaining a legend.

Then she returned to her cheerful tone and continued.

"But I must warn you, Sir...

Even the simplest ones and the cheapest among them are extremely expensive, and their price may not please you."

"Let’s go!"

Rios made his decision and immediately chose to go.

"Alright, as you command, Sir."

A golden light appeared around Rios, and he disappeared from among the enormous crowd of people.

"Ehhh?!

Was that just now someone who possessed a golden assistant?!"

Although everyone was walking toward their own destinations without caring about those around them...

The disappearance of someone in such a noticeable golden light would naturally attract many gazes!

Before a massive and unbelievably enormous palace...

A palace without doors, surrounded by gray mist from every direction.

Above the entrance was the symbol of a tree with countless branches and leaves, surrounded by dense mist that concealed countless secrets.

Above the symbol, words were written...

Court of Secrets Palace.

Rios appeared before the Court of Secrets Palace.

He recalled that strange feeling he experienced the first time he looked at it...

And the madness of suspicion began returning to him once again.

His mind began spinning one bizarre scenario after another, none of them grounded in reality.

In the end, Rios sighed and tried his best to push those thoughts away.

Then he stepped forward and entered Court of Secrets Palace!

Step after step...

Rios walked through the gray mist that reached above his knees without encountering anyone.

He continued walking for several more steps until he finally stopped and frowned because he hadn’t seen a single person inside Court of Secrets Palace.

But before he could decide what to do...

The gray mist beside him began gathering.

A nearly faceless humanoid figure emerged from it, with only its mouth and eyes visible.

The strange figure smiled toward Rios, placed its hands over its chest, and bowed slightly.

"Welcome to Court of Secrets Palace, Lord Osir!"
