Chapter Four: Diggy Hole, part three (116)
…
There she kneeled, looking over the top of a three story tall building. It was one of the only ones in the whole city. The houses were square and squat. The city itself was dull in color and light. Also, the demi-humans below her were numerous.
It was a wide area that they occupied, just kind of standing still and sniffing around. If she didn’t know any better, she would have thought that they were domesticated with how docile they were being. They weren’t even scouting out the area.
Shalltear looked at the demi-humans arrayed under her. From her vantage point, she spotted the lot of them. There seemed to be about 120 of them. Not as many as she had thought before. She smiled a little under her helm.
She currently was wearing her armor. Her lance was out, and she had placed about 10 or so buffing spells upon herself. It had been a bit of a hassle figuring out what was good for this. Yet, after the fact she was much more confident.
As she was, she was watching the demi-humans. Simply waiting for them to make a move. It was then that she got a message spell. She blinked her eyes at the suddenness of the spell, but smiled as she realized that it was Her Goddess.
“Shalltear, capture them all. They have useful information. The ones with vibrant colors are the officers, and the others should be the normal soldiers,” Momonga sent her, and Shalltear sent her the message.
Shalltear smiled at this order, ready to actually do something. She looked to her left. There, on the roof of a building along with her, was one of the Hanzos.
“Hanzo, block all the exits. Make sure than none of them can run away,” she ordered, and the monster nodded and vanished from sight.
Shalltear grinned, and leapt down from the roof of the building she was on. The demi-humans that stood there, looking all about the place and not even really doing much stopped and gawked at her for a second. Then, after that they ran at her.
She ignored them, and let them lash out at her. After they all crowded around her, she cast her spell. “Mass Hold Species,” was a rather useful spell in this case. She cast it out, and held all the demi-humans that had were outside. The others that had escaped her at first, were rounded up.
She then cast the spell again, and then again. After the demi-humans stopped struggling after a moment, she smiled. Happy as she was that she had done a good job, she didn’t miss the other demi-humans that were in the building in front of her, and behind the three groups that she had held.
She frowned, and ran into the building in front of her. The demi-humans that she still hadn’t been told the name of by the way, crowded around her like the outside group. She smiled as they struck, spotting that none of them did any actual harm to her.
“Mass Hold Species,” she chanted out again, and yet again, the whole room was held in place.
…
“Good job Shalltear,” Momonga praised and ruffled the girl’s head.
Shalltear, the little murder machine, smiled and hummed contentedly. Momonga herself was rather happy at how well she had done, and how well she had planned. The vampire had captured them all unharmed.
“Now all we need to do is interrogate them,” Momonga said as she pulled her head back, and Shalltear frowned at the lack of headpats.
“Of course My Lady,” Shalltear started, and pulled out her notes, “How shall we do that?” she asked.
“Well, you shall do so. After all, you have the better abilities for this type of thing than me,” she pointed out, and Shalltear nodded before finishing up her note taking.
“Of course My lady, leave it to me,” she said, and put her notes away.
The Quagoa had been all tied up, and the lot of them seemed rather put out. After all, they had been handed their rear ends rather effortlessly. Shalltear seemed rather happy with that. As she walked up to one, this one an officer, she spoke to him.
“You, tell me your people’s plan for this place,” she ordered, and the quagoa spit in front of her.
“Go to hell, I won’t tell you anything you surface twat,” he cursed at her, and she sighed in her mind.
She frowned at that. She then activated her charm skill. With this, the demi-human’s eye glazed over and took on a dull red look. Her charm skill would work on basically anything without absolute mental resistance. This beast definitely didn’t have it.
He smiled then and spoke to her in a friendly way. It was as if they had always been friends. She smiled as the spell took hold. Though, he still seemed overly loyal to his own people. Then again, the spell wasn’t a domination spell.
“Hey again, how are you pal?” he asked, and she nodded.
“I’m well, Now tell me, as we’re friends after all, why are you here?” she asked.
He tilted his head. He seemed to be thinking it over. Then, he frowned as if she was an idiot. She wasn’t of course, but she bore with it.
“Well didn’t you hear? The warchief has found a path behind all the dwarven defences,” he said, and turned to the dwarve Gondo behind her, “you hear that!? Your little city is gonna be over run here pretty soon! Your days are numbered! As we speak, you guys are getting attacked. My boys are just here to pick off any stragglers,” he shouted at him, and she scowled as the sound reached her ears, too loud right next to her.
Gondo seemed like his whole world was collapsing. Shalltear didn’t really care about him though. After all, he was mostly a stranger to her. She sighed and turned back to her master.
“My Lady, what am I to do with these fools?” she asked.
Momonga just waved her off. She didn’t really seem to care at all about their wellness. She told as much.
“I care not. Just kill them. After, we’re going in and saving Gondo’s nation. We came here to make friends with them after all,” she said, and Shalltear nodded her head.
