The Grand Catastrophe

Chapter One: Adventure Time, part two (106)

You know, when she said she had an idea for the man, she didn’t really have a clear cut answer for that statement. Ainzach was an old man, a man with a silly little afro and grey hair. There they sat around the table, her small smile and his small grimace.

It was a bit of a silly thing, to pick out in her mind that he had an afro in a world where hair care wasn’t all that good. She sighed in her mind, her mild humor putting her mood in a good state. She started the talks then, letting her good feelings fill her words.

“If I asked to have the adventurer’s guild branch become a branch of my current and future Government, what would you do? What would the guild do in response?” she asked, and Ainzach’s eyes widened.

“I would welcome as I think any would,” he said and bowed his head.

“Would you? The people, while they don’t fear me or what I plan to do, many of them are still conflicted. If you gave me the guild, you would have simply told all the adventurers to leave, and hand me an empty shell of an organization,” she said, and he paled.

“I would never do so!” Ainzach said and raised his head look at her in the eyes.

“Oh, and that is a good thing,” she paused to grab something from her inventory, a bottle of pop that she most definitely would say was some kind of alcohol, “See, I plan on the guild being more than just a simple mercenary group. I shall build the guild into the true meaning of adventurer! Exploring the wilds of the world, finding people and stories that no fiction could ever dream of!”

Ainzach’s eyes widened once more. His chest filled with second hand pride and jubilation. She could tell that she got him in an instant. She could tell that he was on her hook line and sinker. Her good feelings at that point though, were stuffed down by her emotional suppression.

“I hate to say it, but you’ve lit a spark in this old man’s heart. Sure, let’s get out there and explore!” he said, and held out a hand for a handshake.

She returned it, and they shook on this. Momonga was pleased. The adventurer’s guild would be remade into something better, and she got to live up to her little images in her head.

“Fith, what do you think of the humans here?” she asked, her tone rather curious, it was a simple conversation that she wanted.

“I like that they worship you of course, but they don’t come and beg on their hands and knees. It bothers me,” she said simply.

“Well, it would be rather disruptive to their work. I think I’m good for now,” Momonga responded with a good natured smile.

Momonga walked down the street, and looked around the city itself some more. The day had actually started to pick up, people were walking the streets and such. The people around her seemed much more jubilant than before. She smiled as she made her way near to where Pandora’s Actress was. As you recall, Pandora’s Actor is a woman in this timeline.

It was soon after she came to the stables, where the steed of Calvaria, was stationed. The sun was still high in the sky. The sounds of the city had begun to pick up. The stables, where Hamsuke was at, were rather bare.

There, sleeping in the hay, was the giant hamster. Hamsuke was their name, and beside them, simply laying in the hay was a death knight. In fact, it was one of the first death knights that she had summoned.

If she recalled correctly, she had had hamsuke learn martial arts, and tried to get the death knight to learn as well. Momonga smiled as she looked at the two, and kicked the door to the stable to wake them up. The death knight was fine.

Yet Hamsuke was jolted and bolted upright to yell at whoever was screaming at them. Yet, Hamsuke stopped, and looked at their master who they have just now realized is there. They shivered in place.

“Ah, master, it’s good to see you?” Hamsuke started, but was stopped by a silently smiling Momonga.

“Is Pandora in?” she asked, her maid still just vibrating in place behind her.

“Yes, my master, the one known as Pandora's Actress is in her room in the hotel,” Hamsuke said, and Momonga nodded her head, and moved onto the building.

As they then entered the building, and made their way to the place where Pandora would be waiting for them in the guise of Calvaria, many different people saw them, and stopped what they were doing. Momonga was mildly annoyed by this. Yet Fith seemed fine with it, so maybe it was just her. As they then entered the room set aside for this meeting, Momonga looked around the space and sent out some spells to make sure that no one looked in on them. Time to talk about politics.
