Chapter 9: Arms and Demons, part three (60)
...
Calvaria was rather exasperated. In fact, she was rather stressed. Her mind had been a bit high strung for the past hour or so. The sky above her not really doing much to calm her down. She might have to ask Anna for a night together; she was really feeling it.
She looked around the area. To her left was the adventurer known as Evil Eye, the girl seemed angry and slightly desperate. To her right was Demiurge, in the guise of Yaldabaoth. He seemed to be rather happy that she was here now.
In fact, he seemed a little bit too happy. Maybe she had tripped a part of the plan and did something that he could work with. In fact, she could guarantee it. She glanced up as well, to see where her two companions were. There they were, floating in the sky as Nabe carried Anna.
She looked back to the open area. It looked like a battle had taken place here. There were even two corpses that looked like the members of Blue Roses that she had nearly met that one time that happened off screen.
“So,” she said, her tone heavy and powerful, “Which of you, shall be my foe?!” she yelled out, some of her divine stage voice that she put on creeping into her voice.
The girl that was Evil Eye spoke then. Her tone was full of strife and anger. It made her wonder what Yaldabaoth did.
“I am the Adamantite ranked adventurer, Evil Eye of Blue Roses! I am in need of your help, Calvaria of Darkness!” she called out.
Calvaria saw fit to answer, her legs taking her to stand before Yaldabaoth. She peered at the demon, her face unseen behind the helmet. She sensed Evil Eye flinch for some odd reason behind her. Yet, she put it out of her mind. Now, now it was time to act.
She pulled her twin swords from their scabbards, the blades singing with the action. She held them in a hand each, the left one in the front, point pointing to the earth. The other was put behind her back, pointing forward.
It was then that she decided to speak. Her acting classes coming out as she stated her lines that she had just made up in her mind. She was rather proud as she heard them, and she did well, if she said so herself.
“I recognize you, demon of torment!” she called out to Yaldabaoth, “you are Yaldabaoth! Demon lord of torment!” she said, and Yaldabaoth tilted his head in affirmation.
“That I am, what of it? I am doing my duty as prescribed by the Goddess of Death,” he said, splaying his arms out in a mocking pose, “you should now that. After all, you are Lady Calvaria. The knight of darkness,” he said, building lore.
“You’re supposed to do your job in hell! You were caste there, in the pain. Leave, and never torment those of life!” she called out, charging forth and swinging her blades out in a scissoring motion.
He dodged backward. Yet he had barely blocked the blow. His hands were brought up, and he cast a spell that elongated his fingers into claws. He slashed out as she stepped back, her armor sparking as his claws glanced of her.
He dashed forth once more, and she blocked the blow with one of her swords as she thrust the left-handed one forward and tried to pierce his shoulder. This failed as he stepped sideways. He then stabbed her near her helmet to try and blind her.
She twisted to avoid the blow and leapt backward and jumped into the sky, hoisting a fire spear from her inventory, she obscured where she pulled it from, though. She didn’t want Evil Eye, who was watching this fight, to see it. The fire spear landed near the demon, and exploded outward.
He covered his face with his arms, and she dived back down to try and stab him. She soared back down to earth, her frame hitting the earth as he ran backward. The ground cracked into pieces as she stood up.
The flames that she has summoned had disappeared now. Now, as she stepped forward, she noticed that new flames were growing up and around the demon lord. She took a running step, and leapt once more into the sky, and tried to spear the demon lord.
As she came down, he grabbed both of the swords and melted one of them. The tip of the right sword melted, and she discarded it as she jumped back up and away. Yaldabaoth tossed the sword away as he walked out of the flames. He shrugged his shoulders to release the tension and took a steady step forward.
Calvaria did so as well. She rolled her shoulders and clenched the grip of her sole blade in both hands, holding the sword above her head in a “Roof Guard,” like guard. She marched forward, much more warry than she was before.
The demon lord seemed rather full of himself now. His steps were quicker, and steadier. All in all, she seemed a bit more screwed.
...
Evil Eye watched to two of them dance around each other as if they were gods, vying for a holy land. It was beautiful to look upon. They way they moved made her heart flutter. Her mind yelled at her to run, yet she was still there. Her eyes were locked onto the woman known as Calvaria.
It was strange. It was very strange, the way she was feeling for this woman. Her eyes were locked onto more than her fighting. Her cheeks were reddened under her mask. No one knew what emotions were going through her mind.
‘Why am I thinking of a woman this way? Am I, what did he call it? Am I gay, a lesbian?’ she thought to herself.
“It’s like a god fighting a demon of old. It's breath taking,” she mumbled under her breath.
It was then that the demon lord mentioned noticed her and took to the air. There, he spread some magic wings and called out a spell. Her legs tried to pull her out of the way as projectiles in the forms of small worms zoomed towards her.
Yet, Calvaria moved in front of her. She spun her blade like a helicopter, not that she knew what a helicopter was. The swinging blade cut the worms from the air as came at her. She looked on at her, at Calvaria. The blush on her face was deepening.
“Are you alright?” she asked as she turned her head to the smaller undead woman.
“Yes, now that you’re here,” she said, her tone a little lost in the sauce.
