Chapter 9: Arms and Demons

Yuri Alpha shrugged her shoulders. Her mind was clear, her thoughts idle as she fought this woman. Gagarin stood there, in front of her. Her breathing was labored.

She had taken many hits from the undead maid. Her plate was dented in many places. Her hammer was bent slightly in the middle of its shaft. There were scuff marks all across the surface of the face.

“You ready to be taken in?” she questioned, her tone serious but tired, Gagarin didn’t seem all to bright right now, at least to Yuri.

She took a single step forward, and kneeled on the ground as she fell. Yuri let a small smile grace her face. Then, a frown covered it. She hadn’t been told to kill all the witnesses. Yet, she still felt as she should. After all, she had seen her power level, and she had seen her fighting style.

All in all, she wasn’t supposed to have been seen. It was rather embarrassing as well. She sighed and walked forward. It was then that an attack came her way. She blocked it with her forearm, yet she stopped as she saw a ninja step in front of her foe.

She was short, her hair was red. She wore a blue bandana. Fishnet stockings that looked more sexual than practical covered her legs. She believed that this was Tia. She was one of the twin ninjas of Blue Roses.

“Hey, you’re bleeding,” she spoke to Gagarin as she helped her up without looking away from Yuri Alpha.

“Yeah,” Gagarin said wiping away some blood dripping down her chin, “so?”

“I just thought you’d have blue blood. Like a power up,” she said, and Gagarin chuckled, but winced and stopped.

“I haven’t changed races!” Gagarin yelled out.

“It could happen,” Tia simply responded, nonchalant.

Gagarin just shook her head. Sure, she seemed peeved by her words. Yet that may have been her exhaustion talking.

Yuri simply shook her head, and took a pose. While she readied herself for combat, she noticed something in the air. While some of her younger sisters may not have noticed this, she did.

Her mind was level. Her body sharp as an arrow as she watched her foes prep themselves for the fight ahead. Yuri then rushed forth, attacking the two of them as she kept her mind on the presence that was watching over in the skies.

Gagarin slammed her hammer down as Tia ducked to the left. The hammer came down, with Yuri blocking the blow with her right hand. Tia then went in for a strike, with her hands making ninjutsu hand movements.

She then released an explosion of fire into Yuri. She dashed to the right as the fire imploded where she had been standing but a moment ago. Gagarin followed through with the attack. her hammer coming down again and again.

Yuri Alpha blocked each of these attacks, her forearms taking a pounding. Yet, she handled it well, and dodged an attack aimed at her by Tia. A ninja star flew by her head as she tilted it to the side.

She then redirected a hammer strike aimed at her from above by Gagarin into the ground. The hammer hit the earth, shattering the ground. Yet, the battle maid moved with swiftness.

Her fists moved in to deal a blow against Tia. The girl tried to dodge the blow. Yet she failed to do so, and she was flung into the wall of one of buildings.

She let out a groan as she collided. Yuri speeding up to punch her into oblivion again, yet she was stopped as Gagarin finally made her way to her back. She let out a roar as she slammed her hammer into Yuri’s side. Yuro didn’t flinch as she let herself be thrown to the side.

She could tell that she was being watched. Lord Demiurge had given her a item, like most of the other NPCs in this plan had been given. It was an item that enhanced her normal senses. This allowed her to sense things that normally would have been hidden to her, at least by a little bit.

It was by this point that she could tell that the other foe would intervene if she delt anymore damage to her allies. Yuri Alpha wished to see who this was. After all, she or he was blocking her negative energy sense normally. Because of this she was curious.

Yuri Alpha straightened and looked to her two foes. There, she saw that they were prepping themselves once again. How they knew that this fight became a fight to the death? She wouldn’t know.

She had yet to put any more power into her blows when compared to before. Yet, they seemingly guessed that she wished to kill them. She sighed in her mind and ran forth again.

Yet, she had to back off. The ground that would have been where she stood exploded as she hopped back to the middle of the area. There, standing on the end of some kind of crystal lance speared into the ground, was the one Known as Evil Eye.

Evil Eye looked at the person in front of her. This person wasn’t human. Yet she didn’t, or couldn’t, tell what race they belonged to. Sure, she had used detection magic to try and appraise what she was. Yet all she had gotten in response weas static.

This person was awfully confusing to her. From what little she had seen, she seemed incredibly robust. Her fighting style was tailored for melee combat. Her uniform was stronger than what it let on. All of these things made her furrow her brow.

“Hey, you,” she said, her tone drawling, trying to pull in some information, “who are you?”

“I would ask the same question. Yet I think I have a solid idea on who you are given the getup and the spell list,” the woman dressed as a maid said, her tone flat and polite.

Evil Eye scowled, her face hidden behind the mask. She wanted to continue on with this. Yet she didn’t know all that she wanted to know, and she didn’t know that this foe, what she knew about themselves. It was rather annoying.

“I guess we’ll have to see for ourselves who you are, behind that mask,” she said as she shot out a crystal dagger.

The woman dodged the attack, her feet taking her forward, and then punching the lance under her feet with a fist. Evil Eye leapt off the lance, and fired another shot at the woman.

She dodged it yet again, and then Gagarin came in with a hammer swing. She blocked the blow with a hand and kicked her with a spartan kick. Gagarin flew back, her body hitting a wall. The fight was on, once again.
