Space itself congealed to the extreme, making it utterly impossible for the Chaos Dragon King to so much as shift its body.

The eyes across all 9 of its dragon heads fixed upon the approaching rose, brimming with fury.

The scales along its body tried to shudder and release corrosive dust—yet, just like the rage in its eyes, the effort was forcibly crushed inward by the churning magical turbulence.

That tiny rose, no larger than a grain of sand, rode the breath of the wind and settled steadily upon the Chaos Dragon King's enormous body.

The golden orb of light at the rose's center began to flicker—as though the entire world were about to be swallowed by that terrifying force.

Alien-colored petals broke free from that golden core and drifted in sweeping arcs around the Chaos Dragon King's body.

Boom!

The petals blazed with overwhelming starlight, and the pale earth beneath seemed to lose all color, crumbling apart beneath the surging tide of terrible Magic Power.

The golden orb at the center suddenly shattered. A violent surge of Magic Power transformed into a terrifying magical cascade a hundred meters in radius, churning upward from the ground to the sky.

Towering white peaks were completely obliterated, reduced to swirling silver rubble that scattered through the air.

The space beneath the Chaos Dragon King began to warp and twist.

It was as though countless invisible iron spikes had been driven into its body, sealing away all the Magic Power and strength within it.

The chaotic sky looked as though the flowing Magic Power of those alien-colored petals had torn open a vast gaping maw.

A shaft of sunlight burst through that darkness and chaos, merging perfectly with the Magic Power that was surging upward into the sky.

Whoooosh!

Two streams of radiance collided. The tremendous air pressure, laden with heavy natural Magic Power, surged ceaselessly through the space.

The alien-colored flowing pillar of light trembled faintly at that moment.

The light scattered—and the earth underfoot had been literally cleaved open into an enormous crater.

Looking down from above, one could even see the dense clouds beneath the island, rippling like waves.

The surrounding white rocks, caught in the magical shockwave, all disintegrated into cascading powder, swirling together with the golden Magic Power dispersing through the air.

Ryan stared blankly at the terrifying magic unfolding before him, his eyes trembling violently.

Crimson veins spread across his eyeballs. His short but stocky frame shook with uncontainable excitement.

The beard on his face swayed in midair, lifted by some unseen force.

"I—it's, it's so beautiful!"

"So this is the War Magic used by the Council's most powerful Mage!"

He raised his eyes and gazed, entranced, at the scattered starlight drifting through the air.

Ryan had waited a very, very long time for this.

He had long wanted to witness firsthand the awe-inspiring and devastating War Magic Viktor unleashed.

Large-scale War Magic was not something Mages typically used. Even when it was employed, it was reserved exclusively for massive battlefields.

The conditions were even more demanding than that—

War Magic, as a rule, required a great many Mages casting in concert.

Those requirements were simply far too cumbersome, which was why so few people were ever willing to unleash that kind of breathtaking, terrifying magic.

Who else could be like Viktor—where War Magic was as casual as breathing, thrown out at the opening like setting off fireworks?

Ryan broke into a candid grin, and the long trailing ends of his chin beard curled upward.

Good thing the recording instrument had captured everything.

"Still, after a hit like that, the Chaos Dragon King should be just about..."

ROAAARRR!!!

A thunderous roar erupted without warning.

From within that endless haze of smoke and dust, a massive claw thrust forward.

It gripped the edge of the cloud layer and applied steady force—as though to tear apart those dense and turbulent clouds with a single violent rend.

The Chaos Dragon King, with all 9 of its heads, continued to struggle free.

Until it broke through into the clouds.

It was not dead.

The enraged Chaos Dragon King still swung all 9 of its dragon heads, the flesh-wings at its back trembling as they bore aloft its enormous, mountain-like body.

Its body looked as though it had been ravaged by fire—across its coiled mass of a form, scorched red burn marks remained. A considerable portion of its scales had been shattered, and faintly luminous powder seeped continuously from the wounds.

It let out a furious roar, swung its 9 heads and its thick, elongated tail, and resumed thrashing across the pale earth.

Booom!

At the dragon's roar, the surrounding mountain formations shuddered in unison.

The air grew thick and reeked of acid—a combination of blood and filth, damp, cold, and oppressive.

That surge of rage transformed into rolling cloudwaves that poured into everyone's ears.

All around, countless Magical Creatures seemed to answer a summons, snapping their gazes in unison toward the Chaos Dragon King.

A massive human-bodied serpent with 3 mouths growing from its head coiled lazily around the protruding rocks nearby.

A Magical Creature formed entirely of merged hands crawled forward, wrenching itself from beneath the pale earth like a writhing mass of worms.

A monster with nothing but limbs rolled its body over, exposing itself atop the ground.

Ryan swept his gaze around them and couldn't help biting the tip of his tongue.

"What the—what the hell..."

Unlike the Magical Creatures of the outside world, which were organized and orderly—

Here, every single one of them was grotesque and terrifying.

Their twisted, disordered bodies had been rendered chaotic beyond recognition by the anarchic combination of Magic Power.

And now, as this crowd of utterly bizarre things appeared before him, he felt a wave of revulsion crawl over his skin.

These things were hideously ugly.

But speaking seriously—these Magical Creatures had clearly been summoned by the Chaos Dragon King at the center.

This Twilight Expanse harbored far too much chaotic Magic Power, and the Chaos Dragon King was itself a construct formed from this place's immense chaotic Magic Power.

Naturally, it was the strongest entity here.

And simultaneously—its king.

Of course, similar to the Storm Dragon King of the Rhea Gorge, these Dragon Kings shared the same characteristic: they were constructs of Magic Power.

The only difference was that the Chaos Dragon King, unlike the Storm Dragon King, could not resurrect.

But even so, it shared one thing with the Storm Dragon King—a unique trait that belonged to it alone.

"Viktor, should we request assistance from the Council? These things are genuinely terrifying..."

But Viktor simply stood in composed silence atop a great white boulder, his Coat rippling in the wind as waves of Magic Power flowed across it beneath the tremendous magical pressure.

Whoosh—

"No need."

Like a cold exhale from a high mountain peak, it snapped Ryan Kent back to his senses.

Viktor answered calmly. Facing a Dragon King hundreds of times his own size, not a trace of fear showed in his eyes.

He merely tilted his head slightly to look upward.

After sustaining such an attack, the Chaos Dragon King's level and HP now appeared before him.

Lv55—

No low level.

That devastating War Magic had shaved away just under half of the Chaos Dragon King's HP.

Compared to other Bosses, the Chaos Dragon King was already impressively tanky and resilient.

But set against the Calamities—it still fell somewhat short.

After all, without War Magic, one could barely see the Calamities' HP bars drop at all.

And having summoned those Magical Creatures to converge on it, the Chaos Dragon King began to move again.

The Chaos Dragon King's enormous, coiled body trembled. Through the flesh of its tangled mass, an extraordinarily strange Magic Power began to flow.

The Magic Power was like a void—pitch black, fathomless, and anarchic.

It crept upward along the colossal body. The dragon's 9 heads lashed their thick, elongated necks through the air in rapid, sweeping arcs.

The overwhelming chaotic Magic Power swirling nearby seemed to pour continuously into its body, and the alien-colored energy began to grow increasingly turbulent and unrestrained.

Inside the Chaos Dragon King's maw, immense quantities of Magic Power churned together, intertwining wildly.

Yet not a single one of the 9 heads released a unified stream of Magic Power.

Multi-colored Breaths began to flicker into existence, all elements tangled into one seething mass.

That terrifying Magic Power seemed poised to swallow Viktor whole.

The next instant, 9 Breath streams erupted simultaneously from those 9 abyss-deep maws.

The colossal Magic Power of every element twisted together into a single torrential force.

The pale earth was carved open in an instant as those multiple Breath streams slashed across it—shattered rock and Magic Power mixed together, along with the severed remains of the Magical Creatures caught in the blast radius, sent flying skyward in a storm of wreckage.

Deep ravines lit up, and a surging wave of magical energy traces burst from within those ravines, shooting straight toward the sky.

Multi-colored Magic Power surged like ocean waves, threatening to completely consume the entire world.

Even space itself seemed to warp and buckle gradually beneath that overwhelming tide of Magic Power.

Viktor, however, simply kept both hands in his pockets.

In the instant that Magic Power came surging toward him—

A transparent barrier instantly materialized before him.

It seemed to deflect every last bit of the Chaos Dragon King's Breath entirely.

When the 9-colored streams of light crashed against the magical barrier, unable to break through, they scattered outward in all directions.

Viktor's expression didn't change. He watched the Breath attacks collide repeatedly against his magic, utterly indifferent throughout.

Under the intense impact, his Coat continued to whip and flutter against the surging air pressure.

Ryan had already taken cover behind Viktor.

Even from behind Viktor's Coat, he could feel that heavy torrent of air pressure—grazing past both sides of his ears in a continuous rush.

The rapid whoosh whoosh whoosh detonated beside his ears like a series of explosions at every moment.

This left Ryan staring in stunned disbelief.

An attack that powerful—had been deflected by Viktor this casually?

He could still feel the residual wind pressure from those air currents.

Yet compared to that howling, anarchic Magic Power—it made virtually no difference.

At that moment, he noticed it.

The Magical Creatures converging near the Chaos Dragon King raised their varied assortment of antennae and limbs in unison.

They lifted their heads high, and the waves of chaotic energy emanating from their bodies continued to pour steadily toward the Chaos Dragon King.

Ryan understood immediately.

These chaotic Magical Creatures had been continuously replenishing energy for the Chaos Dragon King.

Feeling that, as a Council Member, he really shouldn't simply keep hiding behind Viktor the entire time—

The big one was beyond him. But he could at least help eliminate the other Magical Creatures.

Ryan was, after all, a Council Member. As a top-tier 4th-Tier Mage, he was entirely confident in his ability to clear out those Magical Creatures.

He was just about to channel his Magic Power and prepare to act—

When Viktor's cool, unhurried voice rang out and cut his movement dead.

"They've all gathered together, have they? Good."

"Saves me the trouble of dealing with them one by one."

Viktor kept both hands in his pockets. Layer upon layer of alien-colored Magic Formations began to extend outward.

The rings flared to life once more, and scorching Magic Power ignited like fire, seething with restless intensity.

9 enormous crimson fire-sickles poured forth from the Formation, burying themselves deep into the pale earth.
