Is My School Life Going to Have Legendary Difficulty?
"No one turns their back on the great Mika Tamaki and lives to tell about it!" That was the last thing Sora heard before that voice disappeared down the hallway.
Sora's only concern was reaching the office.
"I already told you, the equipment is for the exclusive use of the institution!" A shout was heard from the other side of the hallway.
Reaching the entrance, Sora flung the door open. The scene before him looked straight out of a manga.
Airi stood behind the desk, her face full of anger. Across from her, Mochi held her wooden spoon, wearing a smile that only made the delegate even angrier.
“What were you thinking, pulling a stunt like that!?” Airi shouted, pointing at the speakers. “You’ve just ruined Sora’s reputation and the credibility of this council!”
"As the administrator of his life, it's my duty to ensure his health statistics don't drop," Mochi responded while waving her spoon ferociously. "A tank without his lunch is just an easy target."
Sora felt a chill.
“That’s enough, both of you!” Sora shouted, stepping between them. “Airi, I’m really sorry—I’ll make it up to you. And you, Mochi, drop the spoon! We’re at school!”
However, a noise under the table caught everyone's attention. It was Shiori, sitting on the floor beneath the table at the center of the war zone, connected directly to the school's main server with a cable that definitely shouldn't be there.
“Tank, the school’s system is a complete mess,” Shiori said without looking up from her laptop. “I was trying to erase the record of that perverted cleric’s announcement to clear your name, but I found something strange… Maybe if I move these files…”
“Shiori, don’t touch anything!” Sora shouted, lunging at her. But he didn’t notice the tangle of cables she’d spread across the floor.
Sora’s feet caught in the cables, and he lost his balance.
"Watch out!" he managed to shout, but his fate was already sealed.
The impact was inevitable, but as if straight out of a romcom, Sora ended up landing face-first in Airi’s chest.
Time seemed to stop for everyone in that moment. Airi let out a soft gasp, her face turning bright red with embarrassment. Sora could feel her warmth against his face—but what truly sent a chill down his spine was the murderous glare behind him.
“Soooraaa…” Mochi’s voice had changed completely, sounding like a final boss from a video game. “Did you just use a contact skill on the class rep and not me? That… requires immediate purification.”
Mochi raised her wooden spoon, her eyes devoid of light. The yandere aura around her was so intense Sora swore he saw his own death reflected in them.
“I-it was an accident! I tripped on the cables!” Sora shouted, trying to pull away from Airi, who was still frozen in shock.
As Mochi prepared to execute what seemed to be a divine punishment combo, murmurs from under the table made themselves known.
Under the desk, Shiori blinked at the screen, her fingers moving quickly as the loud crash of Sora colliding with Airi echoed above her.
What a pathetic level of security…” Shiori whispered. “Let’s see what the school’s server is hiding…”
As she skimmed through the files, her eyes widened slightly when she found one with a digital seal that didn’t belong to the school. Its name read: “Limit Frontier Online.”
The file was too tempting to ignore, so she removed its password to take a look.
She skimmed the first lines, then the paragraph, and finally the entire file.
“...What is this…?”
She read the screen again.
“...This shouldn’t be here…”
BAM!
Before Shiori could finish reading the document, the student council room door opened again—this time with an elegance and authority that cut straight through Mochi’s yandere aura.
“Could someone explain all this commotion!?”
Just as Mochi’s spoon was about to strike, Sora turned his head in terror. Standing at the entrance was Ms. Sato, the school’s history teacher and club supervisor. She wore a white V-neck blouse, a knee-length skirt, and a gray jacket draped over her shoulders like a cape. Her long brown hair was tied in a high ponytail, with a strand pinned neatly to the side. Dark sunglasses hid her eyes, but her presence alone radiated authority.
“M-ms. Sato!” Airi exclaimed, regaining her composure. “I can explain! There was a… a small issue, but—”
Ms. Sato didn't move. She simply crossed her arms, leaning her back against the doorframe with a nonchalance that radiated invisible pressure. She didn't shout; she judged.
She adjusted her glasses, and the reflection in the lenses cut through the air like a passive intimidation skill.
"Airi," Sato said in a voice so cold that Sora swore the fan on Shiori's laptop started forming frost. "As student council president, your mission is to maintain order in the serv—... I mean, the institution. Seeing this level of degradation in the office is... disappointing." Sato declared while throwing a furious glare at Airi.
Airi lowered her head, but Sora noticed something strange. Instead of looking scared, the delegate let out a small sigh, and her shoulders trembled slightly with a strange mix of submission and... pleasure?
"I-I'm very sorry, Ms. Sato!" Airi responded with a suspiciously enthusiastic voice. "My incompetence knows no limits! Please, assign me extra tasks or... or give me a harsher punishment if you deem it necessary!"
Both Sora and the rest of the girls observed Airi's behavior change so drastically, and yet all three had the same thought: "Is she a masochist?"
Ms. Sato sighed, closing her eyes with annoyance.
"I don't have time for your dramas, Airi. As for you three," Sato pointed at Sora, Mochi, and a Shiori who was trying to sneak away. "You three, outside! If I hear another unofficial announcement or see anyone under that table, I swear your History grades will drop very low!"
Sora didn't need to be told twice. He grabbed the otter by her clothes and the kitten Mochi by the arm, dragging them out of the office as if fleeing from a secret-level Boss that kills you with a single glance.
"Y-yes, ma'am! We're going!" Sora shouted as he rushed out.
Just before the door closed completely, and as the hallway chaos began to drown out the sounds from the office, Sora managed to hear a whisper coming from inside.
It was Ms. Sato's voice, but it no longer sounded authoritative; it was the voice of someone who has seen virtual empires fall.
"Young people nowadays are such a problem... they don't know when to retreat from the battlefield."
Sora felt as if a door in his mind had opened. "That phrase... I've heard it before..." Sora thought while still dragging his two waifus away from danger.
