One Piece: I'm not Roger

Chapter 196: 196: Crushing Feld

In the silent, dim room, three figures phased through the wall as though it were nothing, clearly Devil Fruit users.

The three moved silently toward the bed. In the pitch-black darkness, Pierrot could still clearly see Aether sleeping while embracing a beautiful woman.

What a satisfied sleeping face.

As expected of the Black Widow trained by Feld, she had truly made the Pirate King wait for death like a lamb to slaughter. An unprecedented excitement filled Pierrot's chest, and a cruel smile formed on his face.

How thrilling it was to kill the Pirate King. From this moment on, he would become the true King of the Sea, because he had successfully assassinated the Pirate King.

At Pierrot's signal, the three assassins simultaneously thrust their weapons toward Aether on the bed. The dark, sharp scythes were coated in purple venom. A single strike should have been enough.

Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang.

In an instant, Pierrot felt no sensation of cutting flesh. Instead, he heard the sharp sound of weapons shattering.

What was this?

Pierrot looked up, and what he saw filled him with terror.

Aether had already thrown off the covers and, with a single arm, shattered all their weapons. One had to understand that Pierrot's scythe was no weaker than a Great Grade Sword.

Before Pierrot could even issue a retreat order, Aether's other hand, wrapped in dark red Conqueror's Haki, struck out.

Boom.

A sonic explosion erupted, and the entire room was instantly swept by a gale of over ten levels in intensity. Pierrot barely had time to utter a final question that sounded like a death sentence.

"Is this the top power of the sea?"

In the next instant, Pierrot's burly masked body was pierced through the chest by Aether's punch. The force of the Advanced Conqueror's Haki exploded through his body, obliterating his internal organs. His corpse was blasted through the house and sent flying into the distance.

[Significantly altered the destiny of S-Class figure Feld, rewarding 2000 destiny points]

The sudden reversal of events terrified the two remaining assassins who had lost their weapons.

Before they could escape, Aether grabbed both of their heads and slammed them into the ground. The sheer force instantly killed one assassin, who was nearly at Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral level, while the other was left gravely injured.

At the same time, the shockwave of Advanced Conqueror's Haki spread across Cake Island, alarming most of its inhabitants. Within seconds, powerful figures were already moving toward the source.

"Not much time. I need to finish this quickly," Aether said.

He twisted one assassin's leg and casually blocked the woman's feigned attack.

"If you don't want to die, leave immediately. At least for the next two days, do not let anyone locate you. Otherwise, I will kill you. Also, tell me Feld's location."

Since she had already betrayed her team, the woman quickly revealed her former master's location without hesitation. Only if Feld truly died could she hope for a future. Otherwise, the consequences of being a traitor were unthinkable.

"Master Feld… no, that scoundrel Feld is at the Black Forest Cake Palace."

"Good. You may go."

The assassin wearing Stussy's face nodded like a startled bird, though her body still instinctively attempted small, useless attacks, as several Den Den Mushi were hidden in different corners of the room, recording everything.

Soon after, she was sent flying by Aether's precise strike.

As she retreated into the darkness, she could still see Pierrot's twisted corpse. A chill ran through her entire body.

A man comparable to a Shichibukai had been killed so easily, with a single punch. It was absurd.

Yet she had no time to dwell on it. Survival came first.

She vanished into the dark streets, already considering abandoning this line of work entirely. The New World was far too dangerous. It would be better to find an honest man and live quietly.

Meanwhile, Aether lifted the remaining assassin and moved straight toward his next target.

At the same time, Feld, who had also heard the commotion, looked out his window.

In the dark night, only a single explosion had been seen. That meant the plan had succeeded.

Thinking Aether was already dead, Feld's already ugly face twisted into something even more grotesque.

"Roger, this is your own doing. You cannot blame me! Hahahaha!"

Not only would killing the Pirate King avenge him, but it would also bring immense rewards. Reporting this success to the Gorosei would earn him even greater benefits.

Just as Feld drowned in his fantasies, a hole suddenly appeared in the ceiling above him. Along with falling debris, a man dropped into the room.

Aether.

The very Aether Feld had just been thinking about.

The sudden appearance drained all color from Feld's face.

"You… you… how are you here?!"

Aether, who considered himself a reasonable man, answered plainly.

"Didn't you invite me? And thank you for the interesting assassin you sent. She helped me find your location."

"The Black Widow betrayed me?!"

Feld's panic deepened as he realized his most trusted asset had turned against him.

Clang, clang, clang.

Aether continued walking forward, still holding the assassin by the leg. Each step forced Feld to retreat. The injured assassin, now awake, desperately pleaded.

"Lord Feld, save me! Pierrot has been killed by Roger!"

"What?! Pierrot is dead too?! Roger, you…"

Feld pointed at Aether, but fear robbed him of his words.

Aether placed a hand on Feld's head, gripping it tightly. The pressure alone made Feld feel as though his skull would crack.

"Let go of me, Roger! Let go! I'll give you everything I have. Fifty billion, one hundred billion, anything!"

Aether smirked as he looked down at him.

"As the so-called richest man in the world, I have no interest in your ill-gotten money, Feld. You trash. I warned you not to provoke me. Yet you still conspired to assassinate me. Did you ever consider how this would end?"

Aether tightened his grip further.

Feld could no longer speak clearly, only choking sounds escaping his throat.

"Wuwuwu…"

The shadow of death closed in. At the mention of Stussy's name, Feld struggled even more desperately, but Aether's grip did not loosen.

At that moment, the forces of Totto Land arrived, filling the room.

Katakuri, leading the Sweet Commanders, looked at the scene with a grim expression. The identity of the intruder made their hearts tighten.

"The Pirate King killed him. What is he planning?"

"Are we really going to war with Roger?"
