One Piece: I'm not Roger

Chapter 39 39: 39: Fall of the Warden

The two who could not assist in the current battle decided to secure a warship first, ensuring the group would have no worries about their escape afterward.

Their plan immediately caught Aether's attention. Turning his head slightly, he noticed Bon Clay quietly preparing to slip away. His intention was clear, he planned to disguise himself as Magellan and deceive the guards into opening the Gate of Justice.

The Gate of Justice was just as important as the warship. Only by opening it could they ride the powerful currents and reach Marineford in time.

According to the original plan, once they reached the upper level, Luffy, Bon Clay, and Inazuma would work together to open the gate. However, that approach carried risks. If the guards suspected anything, they might destroy the control mechanism entirely.

Compared to that, Bon Clay acting alone offered a higher chance of success.

If they had truly been unable to defeat Magellan, Aether would not have objected. Sacrificing one person to ensure the success of everyone else would have been a harsh but effective decision.

But now, the situation had changed.

There was no need for anyone to die.

Aether leaned closer to Luffy and quietly revealed Bon Clay's plan. The moment Luffy heard it, his expression shifted, deeply moved.

"How could Bon-chan do something like that? No… I have to stop him."

At that moment, Inazuma also stepped forward, insisting on going along. This reassured Aether. With Inazuma present, Luffy's impulsiveness would be kept in check, and the plan to open the Gate of Justice would proceed smoothly.

With that settled, Aether turned back to the battlefield.

He picked up a standard long sword and infused it with Conqueror's Haki. Dark red lightning crackled along the blade, giving off a terrifying aura. His transformation was nearing its limit, so he had to finish this quickly.

A massive cannonball shot forward, marking the continuation of the battle.

The poison giant raised its arm to block it. The explosion obliterated the limb, yet the creature itself remained intact. As Magellan's stamina drained, the destroyed arm regenerated rapidly.

Ivankov immediately followed up with Galaxy Wink. Dozens of massive head afterimages surrounded Magellan from all directions.

This time, however, Magellan was prepared.

The giant poison soldier began spinning violently, flinging venom across the battlefield in all directions.

Several splashes struck Ivankov directly. The intense pain disrupted his attack almost instantly, forcing him to inject himself with Immunity Hormones.

While Magellan focused on Ivankov, Aether vanished from sight.

In the next instant, he appeared behind him.

His blade struck with precision, Conqueror's Haki erupting alongside it. Even through the layers of venom, the slash carved deep into Magellan's body, leaving a wound that reached bone.

Magellan gritted his teeth in pain and retaliated immediately, forcing the poison giant's arm to swing backward. Aether was pushed away, narrowly avoiding further damage.

Even so, droplets of venom landed on his body, sizzling upon contact and releasing faint blue smoke. Close combat made it impossible to avoid completely.

Moments later, explosions rang out again.

Bon Clay's bombs struck the poison giant from behind, reopening Magellan's wounds before they could fully heal.

At this point, Magellan realized the truth.

He was being completely suppressed.

The coordination between the three left him with no openings. Ivankov and Aether were troublesome, but Bon Clay's support was what truly tipped the balance.

Attempting to target Bon Clay first was impossible. The other two would never allow it.

"Sinners… do not think you can escape…"

The battle raged for minutes, its violent aftershocks forcing others to retreat upward.

On the upper level, chaos erupted.

Without their strongest fighters, the Marines stood no chance against the escaping prisoners.

Buggy charged forward with wild laughter.

"Hahaha, you worthless Marines think you can stop me? Take this, Buggy Ball!"

His separated limbs launched small explosive attacks, scattering the Marines in every direction.

Elsewhere, Jinbe carried a wooden board with Crocodile resting on it as they moved through the sea. In the distance, a lone warship drifted several kilometers from the port.

It was the last remaining vessel.

The others had already been destroyed by Blackbeard's crew.

A Marine captain aboard the ship quickly understood their intentions.

"Destroy the ship immediately. We cannot let these criminals escape during the Marineford war."

The crew hurried to carry out the आदेश, preparing explosives while lowering lifeboats.

Before they could act, Crocodile moved.

Transforming into sand, he swept onto the deck. Blades of sand pierced through several Marines, stopping them before they could ignite the explosives.

"Enemy attack. Former Warlord Crocodile."

At the same time, Jinbe manipulated the ocean currents, washing Marines off the ship.

"And the former Warlord, Knight of the Sea Jinbe."

With the two of them working together, the outcome was inevitable.

Crocodile's sand engulfed the deck, while Jinbe suppressed any resistance. Within moments, the ship was theirs.

Back inside Impel Down, the control room had also fallen.

Disguised as Magellan, Bon Clay successfully deceived the guards into opening the Gate of Justice. Immediately after, Luffy and Inazuma subdued everyone inside.

Everything was falling into place.

Back on the battlefield, the final clash reached its peak.

"Meteor Bombardment."

Three massive explosions erupted simultaneously.

Magellan, trapped under pressure from Aether and Ivankov, had no way to escape. His poison giant was completely destroyed.

This time, it did not reform.

Magellan stood alone, battered and broken. One arm was nearly gone, and his body was covered in severe injuries.

Yet one question lingered in his mind.

Aether had come into contact with venom countless times.

Why was he still standing?

Aether paid no attention to it.

He discarded his broken blade and picked up another. Ordinary weapons could not withstand the power of Conqueror's Haki for long.

With only seconds left in his transformation, he stepped forward.

"Surrender, Magellan. You've already lost."

"Never. You will only pass over my corpse. Poison Dragon."

As Magellan prepared his final attack, something unexpected happened.

A massive figure appeared behind him.

Before anyone could react, Douglas Bullet clasped his hands together and brought them down with overwhelming force.

The impact shattered the ground beneath them.

Magellan was sent crashing down through the floor, disappearing into the level below.

Silence followed.

Even Aether was momentarily stunned.

Then he clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Seriously… what a kill stealer."
