Isekai Again [Book 3 is Out]

154 -) 21st Floor (2)

We repeated the same or similar process for hours until reaching the boss room. Normally, it would not be finished in a day, even for us, but I already cleared this floor and brought the girls to a part of the latter half of the floor.

Even though most of it is out of the way, it still took a lot of time. When we reached the boss room, there was just one group waiting in front of the room. The party looked balanced, as some were with heavy armor and a shield, while others were using daggers, a spear, a long sword, and a bow.

After 5 minutes of waiting, the group in front of us went inside. Since every floor boss is the same type of monster on the same floor, it is generally fast for a group that goes to the end of the floor to defeat the boss.

Boss monsters would have their focused abilities enhanced further, like wind hue is faster, earth hue has sturdier defence, etc. As for the boss monster of the 21st floor, it is faster than the average crimson hue, which is already fast, and it can launch fire attacks faster, too. The only downside to that is that the attacks are not as strong as normal fire attacks, but still stronger than normal wind attacks.

It took 15 minutes for the group that went inside to finish the boss room. When the glow around the door diminished, I warned the girls to be careful and opened the door. After that, we slowly went inside.

The room started to take shape as soon as the door closed behind us. The wind started to blow, and the heat surged. It was the first time I had experienced a change this evident in a boss room based on the boss monster, aside from the mini bosses.

The wind and heat increased as the form of the boss monster was completed. When it took a complete shape, an intense hot wind hit our faces. Thankfully, it was a one-time thing and did not continue to happen.

The boss monster hovered in the air, at our chest level. Its core was a bit larger than normal cores, and the flickering red and green elemental hues were more intense. Whenever the red and green elements, which were fire and wind interconnected, a new yellow-orange lightning-type compound element cracked in their stead.

“Elaris!” I said in a loud voice.

She understood as soon as I spoke and placed the arrow on her bow and aimed it toward the boss monster. When she was sure that the monster was not moving aside from a bit of gliding up and down, she released her arrow.

I was standing behind Elaris, and as soon as she let loose of her arrow, Wyn and Woya raised their guards even more and took their places a bit further left and right of Elaris. They were getting ready to act based on how the boss monster would react to Elaris’s attack.

The arrow was fast, and it took less than a blink for it to reach the boss monster. Most people would think that it would be a direct hit since it would be hard to dodge unless you start moving before or right at the moment the arrow is fired. However, I saw.

The arrow aimed at the middle of the core. The boss monster was in its slowly ascending phase from its gliding movement, that was made of going up and down. The arrow would definitely hit its aim if it had continued like that, but a green hue formed at the bottom left of the monster in a brief moment.

The hue was the energy of the wind element, so it helped the boss monster to move its body toward the upper right as a thrust. The movement was so fast that it could dodge the arrow, albeit the arrow scratched its surface; it also lost its balance and could not regain it until it dropped back to chest level.

After that, the boss monster started to thrash around as if pissed. However, the girls were already rushing toward it. Elaris continuously shot arrows as Wyn and Woya tried to encircle it by getting close from different sides.

During the dungeon raid process, we collected back the arrows we could find, but their number naturally kept decreasing. So I occasionally provided additional arrows to Elaris. Since the boss monster is likely to take more time than normal to defeat, I had to give her more arrows from my inventory.

They tried to use the same tactics. Wyn and Woya tried to corner it with one pushing it and the other delivering the blow. If it could still manage to run away unscathed, then Elaris would deliver an additional strike. However, it was much more slippery compared to regular monsters on the same floor, so this tactic rarely worked.

The good news was that, since it was constantly under assault, it could not launch a strong attack either. Regardless, its fast-fire attacks were still a pain in the ass. Woya mostly blocked them with her sword, and Wyn dodged them skillfully.

Even though the tactic was ineffective directly, the damage to the boss monster accumulated. Even scratches would end up as deep wounds if stacked. There were some fortunate moments where the girls could deliver a bit more decisive blows, too.

So in 10 minutes, it could hardly move, and it looked like Elaris could finish it if she could get a decent moment to shoot. So I stopped the girls from destroying it and asked them to redirect it toward me.

When it was trying to run toward me, I unsheathed my sword, bent my knees a bit, and when it was close enough, I dashed toward it. In one step, I was right before it. So before it could even try to change its course with some wind element energy, I swung my sword diagonally.

The boss monster was cut in two cleanly. Aside from its outer surface, it was smooth everywhere else. The hues around it dissipated completely, then its whole body started to turn to dust, with the room starting to lose its structure.

Woya and Elaris ran toward me, and Wyn started to walk toward me after unsheathing her swords. Woya started to collect the coins that dropped on the ground after the boss monster dissipated, and Elaris was beaming with excitement as if ready for a barrage of questions.

“Big brother Han!” She exclaimed and smiled as she clenched both her fists and held them in the air in front of her chest. “That was so cool. You were so fast, I could not even see you for a moment there.”

“Haha,” I laughed as I unsheathed my sword. “Thank you.”

“You were like this,” she started to imitate my swing as she immersed herself in her own world. “Then you went like that, and swung your sword like-”

I only looked toward her and smiled. She looked cute, but she was acting a bit too childish for her age right now. However, since we finished a floor right now, it is only right for her to be spoiled a bit.

“Master,” Woya called me as I turned toward her. “Here, master.” She handed me coins she had collected.

There were 23 silver and 10 copper Obscuras. We killed 50 regular crimson hurricanes before reaching the boss room, too. Each one dropped 2 silver and 31 copper Obscuras. So the total amount was 123 silver and 1560 copper Obscuras, including what we collected from the boss monster. Since we merged the copper coins immediately, even though it took 105 copper coins instead of 100 for convenience's sake, the total amount we collected was 137 silver and 90 copper Obscuras. We could merge the silver coins, too, but there was no need to lose 5 silver coins, as there were rooms to use them.

Before leaving the room, I had one last thing to check.

Elaris’s job level was close to unlocking a new tier job. So I was waiting for her Archer job to be at level 40. Fortunately, a new job named Bow Master. So I switched her job immediately.

‘I have to explain it to her somewhat and make her practice her new skills,’ I thought.

When Wyn also stood by my side, I took the girls and stepped onto the 22nd floor. When the girls were registered on the floor as well, I opened the Warp gate. A few seconds later, we were inside the cabin beside our home.

The sun had already set, and it would take additional time for the dinner to be ready, so I decided to take the girls to a restaurant for dinner. Since we earned quite a bit of coins today, they deserved it.

We found a restaurant close to our house and filled our bellies, even eating a dessert. The girls were fond of dessert indeed, so they were quite happy when we were at home.

After sending Elaris to bed, having told her before that at least to wipe herself clean with a wet towel, we decided to use the bath together for a long while.

The girls had long since gotten used to it and rarely got embarrassed. After the smooth sailing bathing, we continued the night having fun with each other's bodies.
