In a world that's only just coming to terms with the existence of magic, a trans detective finds herself on a case that could forever alter the course of her life.
    Notes: This story takes place in our Witches of Welland verse, during the same time-frame as "Scenes From a Changing World", and is basically a spin-off from certain events in that book.
    Having said that, "Secrets and Lies" introduces new characters in a new location and with a new perspective, so readers don't need to be familiar with the entire Welland saga to enjoy it. New readers will learn and discover the details alongside the story's protagonist, while those familiar with Welland will likely pick up on certain references when they arise.
    General content warning: This story deals with somewhat darker topics than most of our recent work. This story features a police protagonist, and will include instances of nonconsensual transformation and murder. (None of this happens to the protagonist.)
