Chapter : 374
She executed a brand-new, advanced technique. She did not swing her daggers normally. She channeled her wind magic directly into the silver blades. She compressed the air tightly. She made the wind incredibly dense. She folded the air over and over until it became sharp.
The compressed wind formed invisible blades. They extended far beyond the metal daggers. They were totally unseen by the naked eye. Junpei could not see the danger. He expected a normal, close-range attack.
Naomi slashed her arms forward. She did not even touch Junpei with the actual metal. The invisible wind blades sliced through the air. They struck Junpei forcefully in the chest.
The impact was massive. Junpei let out a loud groan. All the air was knocked out of his lungs. He lost his balance completely. He flew backward through the air. He crashed hard onto the ground. His flames extinguished instantly.
He lay perfectly still on the grass. He was completely unconscious. Naomi had effortlessly knocked him completely unconscious. She spun her daggers and slid them back into their sheaths. She did not even look at him. She just walked back toward Risa.
On the other side of the battlefield, Luna also stopped holding back.
Luna usually looked very sleepy. She usually yawned during fights. She normally complained about being tired. She hated loud noises. She hated standing up for too long. But right now, she looked wide awake.
Luna dropped her sleepy attitude to face Sanvi. Her silver-blue hair stood on end. Bright yellow sparks of electricity jumped across her shoulders. Her eyes were totally focused and sharp. She looked incredibly dangerous.
Sanvi charged toward her. Sanvi held a long, sharp metal spear. She wore red and gold armor. She looked very aggressive. She wanted to stab the lightning user. She wanted to secure an easy point for the 7th Unit.
"You look like you need a nap!" Sanvi mocked loudly. She thrust her spear directly at Luna's chest. She expected an easy hit. She thought Luna was just a lazy girl.
Luna did not yawn. She did not slouch. She did not take a step backward.
Luna vanished.
She did not just run fast. She moving at literal lightning speed. She turned into a bright, blinding flash of yellow light. Sanvi's spear stabbed entirely empty air. Sanvi blinked in pure shock. She stumbled forward awkwardly. She had no idea where the girl went.
Luna appeared perfectly behind Sanvi. She stood completely still. She raised her right hand. The yellow electricity crackled wildly around her fingers. The air smelled like ozone.
"You talk too much," Luna stated coldly.
Luna placed her hand firmly on Sanvi's armored back. She bypassed the enemy spear entirely. She released the magic.
She delivering a devastating, high-voltage shock. The electricity surged directly into Sanvi's body. The bright light illuminated the entire arena. A loud cracking sound echoed through the stadium. It sounded like a massive thunderclap.
Sanvi shrieked loudly. Her muscles locked up instantly. The spear fell from her hands. It clattered onto the grass. Sanvi dropped straight down to the ground. Her armor smoked slightly. She could not move a single muscle. The lightning strike instantly paralyzed the warrior.
The stadium crowd erupted into absolute madness. Millions of citizens cheered at the top of their lungs. The noise was deafening. They loved the incredible counterattacks. They loved watching the 13th Unit fight back.
The 7th Unit Vanguard was falling apart. Their confident, aggressive strike was totally ruined. Their best fighters were lying unconscious or paralyzed on the grass.
Princess Iris stood tall. She raised her silver rapier. Her violet eyes shone with pure pride. Her team was flawless. Sayma pushed her glasses up and nodded. Zinia cracked her knuckles. Laxmi threw a victory fireball into the sky.
The amazing display of skill and teamwork turning the tide of the battle firmly back in their favor. The 13th Unit was back in control. They were ready to finish the match.
Ken stayed on the ground near Risa. He watched the girls celebrate. He slouched his shoulders. He reached into his pocket and pulled out another wrapped candy.
"You guys are doing way too much cardio today," Ken announced lazily. He popped the candy into his mouth. He chewed it slowly. "I am getting tired just watching you. I am officially taking my break now. Please do not wake me up unless there is cake."
---
The roar of the massive stadium crowd echoed through the air. Thousands of citizens cheered from the tall concrete stands. They waved colorful flags. They blew loud horns. The bright stadium lights shined down on the artificial botanical garden. The green grass was trampled. Broken stone pillars littered the ground. Small fires burned on the bushes. The arena was a total mess.
Ken Eliot stood near a damaged stone fountain. The battles around him had finally paused. He reached deep into the pocket of his wrinkled navy blue suit pants. He pulled out a small piece of wrapped strawberry candy. He unwrapped the candy very slowly. He popped it into his mouth. He chewed it with a happy, relaxed smile.
"This is a great candy," Ken mumbled to himself. He slouched his shoulders. His white dress shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. His tie was totally crooked. "I really hope we can go home soon. Standing on this grass is making my feet sore. I need a long nap on a soft couch."
Suddenly, the bushes near the fountain rustled loudly. The green leaves parted. A tall man marched into the small clearing.
It was Scott. The wealthy nobleman from the 7th Unit looked incredibly angry. His dark gray combat suit was covered in dirt and water stains. He held a long, beautifully crafted magical rapier in his right hand. The sharp blade gleamed in the stadium lights.
Scott stared directly at Ken. His brown eyes burned with intense, uncontrollable jealousy. He breathed very fast. He clenched his jaw. He had spent the entire match looking for Ken. He wanted to crush his romantic rival on national television. He wanted to prove his absolute superiority.
"I finally found you," Scott declared loudly. His voice shook with pure anger. "You cannot hide from me anymore, Ken Eliot. This garden is not big enough for both of us."
Ken stopped chewing his candy. He blinked his sleepy dark eyes. He looked at the angry nobleman. He let out a long, dramatic sigh.
"I was not hiding," Ken replied lazily. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets. "I was just standing here. Hiding requires finding a good spot. That takes way too much effort. Are you lost? Do you need directions to the exit?"
"Do not mock me!" Scott shouted. He pointed his magical rapier straight at Ken’s chest. "You stole Sayma from me! You manipulated her! I am a wealthy, respected noble! You are just a messy, uneducated commoner! I am going to expose your weakness right now!"
Ken tilted his head to the side. He looked genuinely confused. "You want to expose my weakness? I can save you some time. My biggest weakness is doing cardio. I am also very bad at waking up early. There. Now you know. Can I go back to eating my candy?"
