After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects

In the month since Tang Mei had come out of seclusion, she had been spending every day with Jiang Yun. She had spent far too much time in seclusion; though she had not reached Mahayana yet, that was not important for her. The time now was the most opportune moment to be with Jiang Yun alone, and she did not want to give it up.

Tang Mei followed Jiang Yun everywhere, traveling from villages to towns, and even to cities in the mortal world. They had seen all kinds of things, from local festivals to kingdoms holding grand ceremonies. Several things that had never been seen before by them were now being experienced.

These things to cultivators are fleeting, so they are usually ignored, but for mortals, they have a lot of value. Now experiencing it themselves, Jiang Yun and Tang Mei started understanding why mortals spend so much of their lives like this and yet are still happy.

Suddenly, it gave them a doubt: Why do people cultivate? Is it just to get stronger? If so, once you get strong enough, what then? Do you even still have anyone left in your life to share it with?

This was especially true for Jiang Yun, having cultivated to the peak and no longer needing to progress even further; this sudden thought hit him. Why have I viewed everything as so worthless? Is living the rest of my life like that really worth it? Now that I’m invincible, why do I still have to restrict myself to look like I’m powerful if I already am?

Jiang Yun then turned to Tang Mei. Having spent these days with her alone, he kept having long-lost feelings keep growing. These feelings were starting to surface but still weren’t large enough for Jiang Yun to act on them. Even when he tried to express some of it, he suddenly felt a pause that prevented him from continuing his words.

This made Jiang Yun think to himself, If I’m so strong now, why am I still so cowardly? In the end, Jiang Yun decided to say nothing as he continued to journey around the Eastern Region, visiting mortal civilizations.

Soon, this time alone came to an end as the rest of the sect were starting to come out of seclusion too. Nangong Yu was the next to come out, having managed to reach the first level of Mahayana, which can be considered as one of the top powers of the Eastern Region.

Coming out of seclusion, she noticed how Tang Mei and Jiang Yun had gotten closer. This made her upset; she realized she shouldn't have stayed in seclusion for so long. She decided she would make it up by following Jiang Yun from now on to make up for lost time.

In this way, the three of them started to travel along in the mortal realm. Much like how Tang Mei acted when she first came to the mortal realm, Nangong Yu had the same reactions as she had never experienced anything like it before. She then decided that she would do this more often in the future.

Soon, others came out and Jiang Yun stopped leaving the sect as much, as he still had a sect to manage and he had had enough fun in the mortal realm. It had given him many enlightenments as well as a strange energy that is still flowing into him to this day, though Jiang Yun has gotten used to the energy.

The next people to come out of seclusion were Hua Jing, who had reached the ninth level of Void Solidification, as well as the other two disciples of Tang Mei and Nangong Yu, who had both reached the first level of Void Solidification.

As Hua Jing came out of seclusion, Jiang Yun had to go and help her stabilize her realm as well as teach her new things that correspond to her new realm. As a master, he had to continue to provide his disciples with his teachings. The same was true for Tang Mei and Nangong Yu, who also had to teach their disciples, so they didn’t have as much time to follow Jiang Yun around anymore, much to their dissatisfaction.

After that, Bai Yue came out, reaching the sixth level of Integrating Soul. Following her came Liu Ying, reaching the ninth level of Integrating Soul. Along with that, Jiang Yun’s mother, Zhuang Min, broke through to Soul Formation, which made her really happy as her lifespan was now very long and could be spent with her son.

Lastly, Ning Nuo came out of seclusion. She was very powerful now with a strong presence, as she had reached the half-immortal realm—a true powerhouse in all regions. She could become a Loose Immortal at any time now given the opportunity, though she didn’t want to ascend just yet as doing so would leave her in the immortal realm all alone, so she wanted to stay just a little longer.

Seeing the sect so lively again, Jiang Yun felt a deep sense of fulfillment as he suddenly realized the importance of not being alone. Spending an eternity alone with no one by your side would be quite boring and quite lonely.

Jiang Yun then stepped out into an open space, suddenly stretching out his hands. The women in the sect asked what he was doing.

Jiang Yun then replied, "Since Ning Nuo is soon going to ascend to the immortal realm, I’m going to open a passage to the immortal realm that can go two ways. This way, Ning Nuo can come down to the mortal realm whenever she wants and go back to cultivate when she wants."

Ning Nuo, hearing this from the side, felt very happy and grateful to Jiang Yun as her main worry was being alone in the immortal realm. With this, she won’t be alone and is still able to cultivate.

Jiang Yun then started tearing through the space, reaching the size of a large man. He used Dao energy to stabilize the portal and stop it from closing. In doing so, this also stabilized the rift in space so it wouldn’t tear weak people into shreds.

The only drawback in doing it this way is that Jiang Yun has to repeatedly inject energy into this portal every once in a while, as this rift takes a lot of energy to stay open. This suddenly made Jiang Yun want to learn array formation, as if he knew arrays, he could make a teleportation array to the immortal realm which he could just use energy-gathering arrays to automatically gather energy for the array.

Not to mention, arrays are far more efficient than ripping through space, so maintaining the array takes practically no effort—just a quick maintenance every few thousand years. So, Jiang Yun decided, "Once I finish learning alchemy, I am going to learn array formation."

With this portal stabilizing, a way to go to and back from the immortal realm was made. Jiang Yun then told everyone, "Before you reach the Loose Immortal realm, do not enter this portal; the immortal realm is very dangerous, and you can’t absorb immortal energy carelessly or you will die. So once you reach the realm of immortals, you can come and go as you please."

The group of women, though disappointed in not being able to quickly go to the immortal realm, were still quite happy at being able to come back to the mortal realm whenever they wanted.

With this, the group of women didn’t worry about ascending anymore but still decided not to go back to seclusion, as they wanted to enjoy their time outside a little more. Jiang Yun, seeing nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy life outside of seclusion, enjoyed his time conversing and being with the group of women.

On the border of the Eastern Region, several groups of evil cultivators had arrived. They each went in the direction of the area they had chosen for their territory and prepared to claim it. Though they were reluctant to stay in this barren land, as when they arrived, they suddenly sensed the drop in the density of Qi.

The Qi in the Eastern Region was so bad, almost only half the amount of that in the Central Region.

"No wonder the cultivators in the Eastern Region are called the weakest," one of the people in the group of evil cultivators who was heading towards the Invincible Cloud Sect said.

The rest of the evil cultivators in the man’s sect agreed. They had really chosen the short end of the stick, while the more powerful demonic sects had chosen a paradise compared to the Eastern Region.

Another of the evil cultivators in the group said, "Those other demonic sects taking land not in the Eastern Region must be laughing at us right now for having to take over such a horrendous place. They must be living the dream right now."

The group of cultivators sighed, hearing this, knowing they were too weak to do anything about it.

Soon, the group of evil cultivators arrived in the area of the Invincible Cloud Sect.

The leader of this group of demonic cultivators then said, "Since this will be our territory from now on, let’s start by taking over the closest sect around."

The group, understanding their leader, then flew towards the nearest sect they saw, preparing to start with it first. This group of demonic cultivators were flying directly towards the Invincible Cloud Sect, as it was the closest sect to them at the current moment.
