The Problem With Pink Hair and Cat Ears

Chapter 5: The academy tour and dorms

He walked deceptively fast for someone who gave the impression of someone who didn't care at all for where he was going.

The Azure class followed in a loose cluster, forty or so students trying to absorb a campus that had quickly proven itself too large to fully absorb in one walk. Elayna fell into step near the middle of the group, really trying to pay close attention, making a real effort to remember each location and how to get there.

Cait appeared beside her almost immediately.

She glanced over at Elayna with the comfort of someone who had decided they were going to walk together and saw no reason as for why she’d need to explain why. Then she looked ahead, walked in front of Elayna, and held out her hand out behind her, palm up, without breaking stride.

"Need to hold my hand, sweetling?" she asked pleasantly. "Big new place, lots of people. We wouldn’t want you to get lost."

"I'm fine," Elayna said, slightly irritated that she had to explicitly express that, and faced forward.

Cait put her hand down. She was smiling. Elayna could tell without looking.

"Library," the teacher said, pushing open a set of heavy oak doors. The hall beyond went up further than seemed strictly necessary, shelves disappearing into warm amber light somewhere up above where her neck couldn’t reach. "You'll find anything here."

He was already leaving.

They passed the main infirmary which was quieter, smelling faintly of herbs and something sharper underneath. "Can't fix it yourself," he said, "you come here." Moving on before the doors had finished closing.

The dining hall. "Three meals," he said, apparently deciding the dining hall deserved barely even one sentence before moving on. "Times are posted." He added, while already turning around.

And he didn’t slow down for the rest of the tour.

Elayna was barely keeping up. Although she felt she was doing fairly well. She had a reasonable mental map forming of the academy and where everything was.

Then he took them to the Training Hall.

Not the outdoor grounds scattered across the campus. This was a building. A very large building in the middle of the campus, he guided them inside without slowing, she followed inside, extremely excited to finally see where she'd be training.

The interior opened up into something huge, something she hadn't expected.

The ceiling inside impossibly high above her, far higher than what building's exterior had suggested. A central walkway stretched far ahead of her, wide enough for a dozen people to walk shoulder to shoulder, and on either side of it, vast and tall archways opened into individual courtyards, each one separated from its neighboring courtyard by walls thick enough that whatever happened in one would never be relevant to the other.

She counted the archways as they passed. There were far more than she could count.

Ahead, the central walkway they walked on split into both sides, forming like a T. Elayna could see that beyond that junction more archways stretched on in both directions, more courtyards, more of everything, multiplying out further than she could see from here.

Their teacher didn't slow for any of it. He then turned through one of the archways without announcement, and the group followed him in.

Elayna's eyes widened as she stepped inside the archway.

Just inside the archway, dozens of weapon racks lined the walls on either side, and Elayna's eyes quickly roamed over them just the same way they did when looking over desserts. And it wasn't just a handful of mismatched weapons but rows and rows of them. There were dozens of swords on one rack, just as many spears on the next, and axes, quarterstaves, halberds, daggers, hammers. Everything she could think to name. Each type of weapon filled its own rack, it was as if they'd been built for a small army rather than a class of students.

Below the racks, rows of sturdy wooden chests sat built into the walls, each fitted with a simple iron lock, clearly meant for students to leave their belongings before training. They all stood open and empty. There were even simple coat hangers.

The courtyard itself was a vast open field of grass, wide and uneven with small bumps and pits. The ceiling above reached several hundred feet high, and Elayna felt her awe for the academy rise just as high. The ground bore the faintest shimmer of magical enchantment. The academy had laid on so many enchantments so that Elayna could see them with her bare eyes, like heat shimmering above the ground on a hot summer day.

She thought about training here.

She thought about what it would look like when it was full. The seventh years fighting in one courtyard, first years trying to keep up in another. The sound of it, of steel clashing and destructive magic spells. The smell of it, blood sweat and tears. The atmosphere and feel of the place where the people from the top academy in the empire came to train and fight.

She thought about the first time she'd pick up a sword in here and what it would feel like to swing without restraint and about who she would spar with—

A ripple of excited whispers broke out around her from seemingly nowhere.

Her eyes blinked twice.

Everyone was murmuring to each other with barely contained energy, eyes bright, several people nodding to each other and looking at the courtyards with a new understanding. The teacher was a few steps ahead, already walking, apparently having just said something while she'd been somewhere else entirely.

She had absolutely no idea what everyone was so excited about.

She looked around. Forty students, forty of her classmates, all apparently having received some piece of important information she had completely missed. She needed to know what it was. She should ask someone. She could ask anyone, there were about forty other people in this class—

She reached out and tugged Cait's sleeve.

Cait turned her head. A wide smile already there, as if she’d expected this somehow.

She stretched out her hand, open, palm up.

"So," she said very pleasantly, very satisifed about something, "decided you want to hold hands after all, sweetling?"

"What did the teacher just say?" Elayna asked, as harsh as she could command her voice to in her embarrassment.

"He said—"

"We assemble here, in this courtyard, first thing tomorrow morning," Caelyne said, from slightly to Cait's left, with serene calmness. "First light."

"Thank you," Elayna said while exhaling, relieved.

She became aware, approximately two seconds later, that there were forty-something other people in this class she could have asked.

She looked at the cluster of students around her. At a girl with dark braided hair who had been standing two feet away this entire time and appeared perfectly approachable. At a broad-shouldered boy on her other side who had been listening to the teacher with focused attention and would almost certainly have known the answer, she looked at a stout dwarf she now was interested in getting to know, she could also definitely have asked Caelyne.

Then she looked at Cait.

Oh, she thought, feeling extremely silly. Right... There are other people here, in my class.

Cait's smile had not changed. If anything, it had gotten slightly more satisfied, which Elayna felt was only to tease her.

She faced forward and walked steadily.

The teacher stopped in front of the first and second-year dormitory with the energy of someone having completed a task, a very mundane, effortless task.

He turned. Partially. Just enough to be technically facing them.

One hand rose. Pointing his thumb at the building behind him with the enthusiasm of someone indicating where they'd hung their coat.

"Your dormitory," he said. "Main entrance. First booth, Maielle."

He lowered his hand.

"See you tomorrow." He said, stating it like he didn’t think tomorrow was any more interesting than yesterday.

He left without looking back, hands clasped behind his back.

The main entrance opened into a wide reception area, warm-lit, with a long wooden desk near the far wall and a Cat-kin woman behind it — red hair, red fuzzy cat ears, a tail moving with the relaxed sway of someone entirely comfortable in their surroundings. She looked to be somewhere in her mid to late twenties. And she was already smiling at them.

"Welcome!" she said warmly, leaning forward on the desk with both elbows. "You must be the Azure class! I'm Maielle. I run this building for years one and two, which means I'm basically your first stop for anything you need, any problem you have, anything you’re wondering about and anything you can't or don't want to take to faculty."

She looked at them all with pure and genuine warmth.

"I am also, always the first to know when someone's snuck out at night," she added pleasantly, "so do be creative about it."

A ripple of uncertain laughter rang out. The group wasn't sure if that was a joke or a threat.

"As for the rest—" her expression shifted. Something mournful moved across her face which was brief, the kind of grief of someone confronting a reality they found extremely unfortunate. "The rooms are sorted by gender and you'll have several roommates, so." She sighed and looked down at the ground in defeat, "I'm afraid I really cannot help you find the good spots. Much as I'd like to."

She looked up from the ground and for just a moment, she looked like someone who had reluctantly made peace with a great injustice.

"You'll have to figure those out on your own."

The chuckles that followed was much more certain she was joking.

"Right," Maielle said, brightening again, she produced a wooden box of keys from beneath the desk. "Form a line. State your name. Keys and room numbers. Dinner's at the sixth bell, so you've got time to get settled first."

The line moved efficiently. Elayna shuffled forward, and somewhere in the reorganization of forty students finding their place in a queue, she ended up a few people away from Cait. Not far, just far enough that she was still within earshot of her.

The girl ahead of her turned around while they waited. Blue, crown braided hair that was tied at her sides and letting it fall down her back, with friendly eyes and a small smile.

“Hi, I'm Fiora, nice to meet you." She greeted with a small, polite bow.

"Oh—" Elayna blinked after a awkward second as she realized Fiora was talking to her, she smiled back. "Y-yes! Nice to meet you, I''m Elayna."

"What part are you most excited about?" she asked, "roommates, or training tomorrow?" She glanced around the reception with the expression of someone trying to take it all in.

"B-both," Elayna said, “maybe roommates a bit more," she added after having thought about it for a while. She'd thought about it deeply because she didn't want to seem insincere.

They talked briefly and easy, a casual conversation until the line moved them apart again and Elayna reached the desk.

"Name?" Maielle asked.

"Elayna."

Maielle found the key, set it on the desk alongside a small card with her room number. She looked at Elayna with the kind of smile a mother would give their child who'd not been home for a long time.

"Welcome home, sweetheart."

Elayna felt something warm settle in her chest. She then took the key.

She stepped aside and looked down at the card and the key.

Caelyne appeared beside her a moment later, key in hand, reading her own card.

"Well," she said simply, with a small nod. "Good luck. And it was nice to meet you, Elayna."

She walked away toward the stairs without fuss, and then, after a moment, crossed slightly toward where Cait was still in the queue.

Elayna couldn't quite hear what she said.

Something that sounded like good luck with—

Elayna looked back at her key.

She was probably imagining things.

Cait's expression, from across the room, which suggested the Catgirl felt she didn’t need the luck Caelyne was offering her at all, suggested Elayna was maybe not imagining things.

Elayna's face went pink and stared at her card very hard.

After a full day of being polite to that many people, a quiet corridor felt like something small she'd earned.

Cait walked it unhurried, keys turning slowly in her hand, and let the noise fall away behind her. She didn't need to decompress the way some people did, she just needed the quiet to let everything slowly settle into its proper place for her.

Elayna grabbed her sleeve.

She thought about that. Specifically about Elayna's face in the moment of grabbing it, not the face after, when she'd realised what she'd done and gone various shades of pink about it. The face during. Open and unguarded, her body moving before thought had any say in the matter. Someone whose instincts had already decided, without thinking of consulting the rest of her, that Cait was the right person to reach for.

She smiled, teeth and canines exposed.

She turned the key over in her hand and walked.

Moon elf. She thought.

She'd seen the headmistress walk to the front of that hall and known immediately. Not suspected, not wondered, just known. The white eyes. That deadly and silent stillness that had nothing to do with composure and everything to do with something much older and deeper than composure. The weight of someone who had accumulated enough might that performing it unwarranted would've been personally insulting.

One of the Grandmasters was a moon elf. Vael'oraeth, was the family name.

She knew the name. She didn't know the headmistress's family name nor her first name for that matter.

One piece missing. And you didn't solve a puzzle by staring hard at the gap where the missing piece should be, you just found the piece.

She turned the corner toward her dormitory.

The room was empty.

Four beds she counted automatically, two on each side, with a large window on the wall between, letting in the last of the afternoon light. Each bed had a small desk beside it and enough space between them that four people could co-exist here without immediately wanting to kill each other. A shared table sat near the window with a surrounding couch, big enough for four people sitting comfortably together. Two doors on the wall left to the entrance which were bathrooms, she walked into each, one with a toilet and sink, one with the same and showers, and there was a walk-in closet behind a door opposite to the bathrooms, already fitted with four designated sections of hanging space and shelving.

Practical. Well-considered. More space than she'd expected.

None of her future roommates' things had arrived yet. She had the room to herself for now, which suited her completely.

She chose the bed furthest from the door, closest to the window out of habit more than deliberate thought, the kind of positioning that put a wall at her back and a view in front. Then she set her key on the desk beside it.

She laid down on the bed. Stared at the ceiling and let herself think about the elf.

It had started with the speech she'd delivered in the courtyard, which she had absolutely no regrets about. She'd meant to get a reaction. She'd gotten considerably more than she'd expected, which was its very own kind of pleasure.

She thought about Elayna's eyes.

The way they'd widened at thick assed hussy, not offended, not angry, just — wide. The kind of widening someones eyes had when receiving information their brain hadn't been prepared to process.

She thought about the breathing.

The way it had changed into something quick but slightly heavy. Elayna had tried to keep her face composed and done a reasonable job of it but completely failed to do anything about her breathing. Cait had been close enough to notice. Had mentally noted the way Elayna's petite chest rose and fell with a different rhythm than it had ten seconds earlier.

She thought about Elayna turning her neck around.

Specifically, deliberately, to look at her own ass.

And then looking back forward.

And then looking at her ass again the same way.

And then — that face.

The tightly knitted brows. The lower lip pressed out in the softest, most pure indignant pout she had possibly ever seen on a living person. The face of someone who had just discovered something about themselves that they found unreasonable and was registering a very serious internal complaint about it.

Elayna had been truly and utterly surprised. Not performing surprise and not being coy but she had actually, sincerely not fully understood what her ridiculously lewd lower body did to people, probably still didn’t fully grasp the effect it had. Elayna has probably gone the last few years carrying that ass through the world completely unaware of the havoc it was casually inflicting on everyone around her, and had only just now in a line outside a ceremony hall, with Cait’s help, connected at least some of the dots.

That pout had been real. That indignation had been real. That little furrow between those brows had been real.

Saints, Cait thought, and felt something warm pull tight and low. Felt something strain.

She pressed her lips together. It didn't help.

She thought about that pout again. Specifically, about what she would very, very much like to do to that lower lip given the opportunity, and felt the pull become something considerably more insistent. Her skirt suddenly felt like a poor decision, the tape not doing nearly enough on its own.

Well, Caitlynn thought, with the calmness of someone assessing a problem and reaching a wickedly simple solution. Better now than when my roommates are here. Before she had to face anyone with this very unholy ache throbbing between her thighs... or jerk off in the bathroom like a guilty teenager.

She sprawled across her bed, silk sheets slithering against bare skin, her skirt bunched above her hips. The tape—ripped free with a hiss was thrown aside. Her panties quickly pulled down, she let her greedy palm wrap around what lurked between her legs. Thick, veined, and angry. Twitching heavily with anticipation. Just the sight of it, her own pulsing, swollen cock made her smirk. Saints, she was halfway there already, the head flushed. Fat, drooling beads of glistening need ran across and over her fingers.

She gripped it hard. Fingers just managing to wrap around the full, throbbing girth, thumb tracing thick veins that throbbed like a second heartbeat. She started slow, dragging her calloused palm up the length which felt just as wonderful as always, feeling every ridge and every pulse, savoring the lewdly obscene weight and heat of her own monster against her hand.

Oh, sweetling, you have no idea what you’re doing to me. Images riffled quickly through her mind: Elayna’s wide golden eyes, her demure little posture, and that rear—Saaaints. Those vulgar, decadent hips and thighs stuffed into those sinfully merciless black leather trousers, the fabric straining so wonderfully against the seams which looked like they were threatening mutiny just for the honor of holding Elayna's curves.

She’d watched the Elf walk away after the ceremony. And Cait had been almost hypnotized by the slow-motion quake of Elayna's ass. She'd thought of each bounce of it, every ripple moving over her rear as a taunt meant for Caitlynn alone.

Haaaaghh, Fuck. Would you let me bury my face in it, Elayna? Would you shiver and mewl if I sank my teeth into you. Into your ass and thighs. Would you scream and moan if I left my marks where nobody else could see?

Her grip tightened, stroking faster, her palm rough and sticky with her own hunger, heavy, fat pearls of anticipation welling up and running down the veined organ.

Elayna, oblivious little temptress. Was probably out there now smiling innocently and giggling at poor jokes like she’s not just completely ruining everyone. Curse the saints she doesn't know the filthy worship her ass and thighs deserve... The whole class. Hell, the entire first year and maybe second year if they’re down there—she could have them all on their knees, kneeling to serve that plump backside and those thick thighs made to squeeze and smother your face against.

But what really threatened to break Cait was that memory of Elayna’s wounded pout, the way she’d turned to look at her own ridiculous rear in the middle of the road, lips jutted in innocent confusion and outrage, brows knit in disbelief. So clueless. So sweet. Caitlynn wanted to bite it. Bite down hard on that pretty, trembling lower lip, tug on it hard until the elf whimpered and squirmed around in her arms. She’d lick those wounded lips when she was done, then claim her mouth in a kiss as rough and greedy as her current grip around her fat, throbbing cock.

She stroked faster now. Her burning meat pulsating in her fist, every motion sending a fresh wave of molten need surging through her belly. The dorm echoed with the wet slap of her hand against her pubic-mound, jewels swinging heavy and full, desperate for release.

That was what finished her. Thinking about biting Elayna's pout.

The ache coiled tight, then snapped hard as her back arched off the sheets, a guttural groan was torn deep from her throat as thick ropes of virile heat shot from her tip, splattering hard against her other hand which was now palming over her tip, her immense load quickly coated her lower belly. She cupped the head carefully and milked every last pulse from her twitching, meat-stick, she was panting, sweat beading down her brow.

She lay there afterwards for a short while, legs spread and body spent, savoring the weight and slowly subsiding throb of her cock against her thigh. Dangerous little thing, she thought with a wicked smile. That elf. Oh she'll be the death of me. Cait would last a week. Maybe... If Elayna had the good sense to stop making those faces in front of her.

I'm going to make her make those faces constantly. Cait thought with self-sabotaging glee.

The dinner bell rang out through the halls. Cait grinned like a lazy feline satisfied after a kill and then dragged her tongue over her messy palm, savoring her own taste with lazy decadence.

She sat up, found tissues to clean up the mess, smoothed her skirt back down over her currently, tamed monster, and glanced at herself in the mirror.

And saw herself for what she currently was. A predator barely sated.

She was already thinking about tomorrow.

The training halls. And the very sweet little elf who hadn't yet shown her what she could do with a sword or her magic. Who Cait intended to find out about, one way or another. Whether that meant sparring with her directly, or simply staying close enough to watch those golden eyes when something finally challenged them.

Both options had considerable appeal. She had a feeling Elayna was going to surprise her. She had an even stronger feeling she was going to enjoy being surprised.

Still, she thought, aware of the persistent warmth low in her belly, and something lower demanding a bit more attention with a faint throb. Apparently once wasn't quite enough. She thought of that as Elayna's fault entirely.

Right~, she purred softly. Her tail swaying loosely behind her. Let's see what the bathrooms look like.

She picked up her key and went to clean up for dinner.
