As a Blacksmith in the World of Jujutsu Kaisen

Chapter 103

What truly troubled Yaeko was how her mother would accept the truth about Shoko, something that could not easily be explained in any ordinary way.

"Just say that you work for the supernatural or mystical side of this world. If necessary, I can also help you explain it," I said calmly, my voice steady and without hesitation.

After all, for me, explaining things was never particularly complicated. As long as the meaning could be conveyed clearly and without unnecessary twists, the rest was simply a matter of how someone chose to accept that reality—or reject it.

In my view, it was only a simple matter—something that felt far easier than having to remain constantly alert against the many strange possibilities that could emerge at any moment in this insane Crossover world.

This world was already far too full of unpredictable chaos; explaining supernatural matters to someone felt much lighter than facing unknown creatures that could emerge from dimensional rifts without warning, bringing dangers that could not always be understood through ordinary logic.

"It's not that simple, Sir..." Yaeko said awkwardly, her voice soft as though restrained.

Yaeko lowered her gaze for a moment, her fingers intertwining restlessly on her lap in small anxious movements, as if she were searching for the best way to explain her unease without sounding as though she were directly refusing.

Real hesitation showed clearly on her face; not because she did not trust me, but because she fully understood that her family would not easily accept an explanation that lay beyond ordinary reason.

For people who lived in the normal world, accepting the fact that illness could be healed through mystical means was clearly no simple matter. Even imagining such a thing was enough to make someone doubtful, let alone believe it completely.

"Well then, what if I simply help your mother as well?" I said casually, as though the idea had come to me without requiring much thought. "If your mother has some kind of illness or anything like that—even if she has no illness at all—putting her in good health is quite easy. That way, you won't need to trouble yourself explaining simple things in overly complicated ways, because I'll help your mother too, and no further explanation will be necessary."

My tone remained light and unburdened, as though I were speaking of nothing more than an ordinary everyday matter, like offering to fix something broken.

To me, that was simply how it was. Things that sounded impossible to ordinary humans were often only minor matters when powers from the other side of the world were involved—something I had seen so often that it had become normal.

"Can that really be done?" Yaeko stared at me with widened eyes, clearly shocked by the suggestion she had just heard.

Confusion was plainly visible on her face, mixed with a small spark of hope that had surfaced without her realizing it. To ordinary people, such an idea would naturally sound impossible, even absurd.

Even accepting the possibility of curing hearing impairment through mystical means was already shocking enough, let alone hearing that a person's health could simply be restored without any long and complicated medical process.

Yaeko's breathing grew slightly restrained, her chest rising and falling more slowly than before, as though she were holding something back—caught between hope and fear that the answer she was about to hear would become even harder to believe.

"It seems you still do not truly understand the other side of this world," I replied slowly, my voice calm and without the slightest hint of condescension.

I then leaned back slightly, letting my back rest comfortably against the chair, before continuing in a steady tone, giving Yaeko time to absorb each of my words without feeling rushed.

"Anything can be done. Bringing the dead back to life, extending one's lifespan, curing fatal illnesses that ordinary humans cannot overcome—all of that can be accomplished through mystical means. Once you begin working at my shop, which sells various Cursed Tools, you will gradually come to understand the other side of this world." I paused for a moment after saying that, letting my words hang in the air, but then I suddenly sensed something.

My senses immediately caught something from outside the apartment unit—two new presences had just arrived right in front of the entrance.

Their energies felt completely different from one another, so distinct that I could tell even before the sound of their footsteps reached the hallway.

One felt mature, steady, and calm, like a slow-moving stream without ripples, carrying a firm sense of peace. The other was small, light, and gentle, like a tiny candle flame swaying softly in the wind, fragile yet still enduring.

"Hm... there are two people coming," I said as I shifted my gaze toward the apartment's main door.

"That must be my mother and my daughter, Shoko," Yaeko said quickly, her voice filled with certainty without the slightest hint of doubt.

As soon as she said that, Yaeko immediately rose from her seat. Her movement seemed reflexive and natural, as though her body had recognized the presence of those two people even before her mind had fully confirmed it.

I also stood up, and the two of us walked calmly toward the apartment entrance.

The atmosphere inside the home, which had been quiet just moments ago, slowly began to change. Something in the air felt different—a subtle warmth spread gently through the room, as if the apartment itself had just realized that its residents had returned and was welcoming them back with long-withheld familiarity.

The soft midday sunlight streaming in through the windows remained gentle, spilling pale golden hues across the floor and walls, yet now the room felt far more alive than it had only minutes earlier.

Not long after, the sound of a key turning softly came from outside. The faint metallic click broke the silence gently, followed by the sound of the doorknob being turned with care, almost cautiously, as if not wanting to disturb the peace inside.

Then the apartment door opened.

Two figures stepped into Yaeko's apartment.

The first was an elderly woman whose face clearly bore the marks of age and the hardships of life.

The fine lines across her face revealed the many long years she had endured—years filled with hard work, patience, and perhaps no small amount of sacrifice.

Yet beneath all of that, there still shone the unmistakable gentleness of a mother who had long grown used to carrying life's burdens without complaint.

Her short hair had begun to turn white in several places, neatly combed despite its simplicity. She wore no striking jewelry, only a quiet and clean simplicity about her.

The clothes she wore were plain and without luxury, yet well-kept and tidy, enough to show that she was someone who maintained her dignity well despite living within limitations.

Standing beside the elderly woman was a little girl.

Her body was small and fragile-looking, with a soft innocent face and a calm expression that seemed almost too quiet for a child her age. There was a strong sense of silence about her, as though she were more accustomed to keeping her own little world tucked away in quiet solitude.

The little girl's straight hair was a pale pink color, falling neatly around her small face. Her eyes were round, with large brown irises that looked clear, yet held a calmness unlike that of other children—quiet, careful, and full of silent observation.

As the girl stepped inside slowly, she clutched tightly at the side of the elderly woman's clothing, her small fingers gripping the fabric as though it were the safest place in the entire world for her.
