Chapter 111: Flower Fairy Secret Realm
Prince Eric pondered for a moment, his interest piqued. Unafraid of danger, he reined in his horse, dismounted, and quietly approached the tower.
Relying on the ability granted by his bloodline, he easily saw through the concealment magic surrounding the tower. Looking up, he saw that the windowsill was neatly lined with all sorts of potion-making tools and books: crystal-clear potion bottles, ceramic jars engraved with magical runes, sharp silver dissection knives, and several ancient books surrounded by faint magical radiance. Their pages lay open, and from this height—one that only he could reach with his vision—he could vaguely make out the words written inside.
Beneath the windowsill were several bundles of freshly harvested magical plants. Magical dew still clung to their leaves, making it obvious they had been gathered only recently.
The prince immediately understood.
So this was the legendary potion tower of the witch, and those tools and books must be the equipment she used to brew magical potions.
Was the singing from the rumors the witch's voice?
With that question in mind, Prince Eric continued observing in secret.
At that moment, a witch's head appeared at the tower window, and she shouted toward the sky: "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, countless strands of dazzling golden hair suddenly descended from among the floating white clouds overhead.
The hair shimmered like sunlight itself—fine, lustrous, and radiant, like molten strands of gold. It stretched from the clouds all the way down to the tower window.
The golden hair seemed alive. Like a group of playful sprites, it swayed gently. Its ends split into delicate threads that carefully wrapped around the potion-making tools, books, and ingredients on the windowsill. Whether it was a heavy stone mortar or a light magical tome, each item was securely lifted by the hair.
Then the golden strands slowly rose, carrying everything upward toward the Cloud Territory above the heavens.
Their movements were gentle and precise. Nothing collided or rattled. It was as though the hair were handling priceless treasures.
A small, thin witch climbed out through the tower window, grabbed hold of the hair, and began climbing upward as well.
The prince stood motionless, his gaze fixed on the golden strands and the ascending cargo.
Just as the hair was about to disappear completely into the clouds, he caught a fleeting glimpse through a gap in the cloud layer—
A young woman stood above the sea of clouds.
She wore a pale green dress, her long hair cascading like a waterfall. Her features were gentle, her skin as white as snow, and a faint magical glow surrounded her.
She was beautiful beyond words, like a goddess.
It was Rapunzel.
Leaning forward slightly, she gently accepted the tools and books delivered by her hair. A faint smile rested on her face, as though she were the purest light in the world.
With a single glance, the prince froze.
His heart began pounding violently.
Shock and amazement filled his eyes.
In that instant, the wind through the forest, the fragrance of magical plants, and the ancient tower itself all faded into the background.
Only the goddess-like figure above the clouds remained, deeply engraved into his mind.
His eyes widened as he desperately tried to imprint her image into his heart.
But before he could take another proper look, the clouds slowly closed.
Rapunzel and the witch climbing upward vanished behind the thick white cloud layer.
All that remained was the faint golden glow lingering in the air and a subtle, lingering fragrance.
Then the cloud drifted away into the sky.
Prince Eric stood there blankly for a long time before finally coming back to his senses.
He mounted his horse once more and spurred it into a mad gallop.
But how could something that ran upon the earth ever catch something that flew through the sky?
In a moment of carelessness, the horse stumbled.
The prince was violently thrown from the saddle.
Fortunately, his bloodline power protected him, leaving him unharmed.
However, when he emerged from the bushes covered in dirt and leaves, the golden glow within his eyes could no longer find that cloud in the sky.
"No!"
Prince Eric froze for a moment before letting out a heart-wrenching cry that startled every bird and deer in the forest.
The gears of fate had shifted.
The prince would no longer have his eyes blinded by Rapunzel's godmother.
At the same time, he would never father twins with Rapunzel.
...
Above the sky.
Inside the floating territory.
Levi frowned and asked, "Did any of you hear something?"
"Hear what? No."
The women were all busy helping Rapunzel's godmother pack up her belongings. Hearing his question, they all shook their heads.
"Then never mind."
Levi did not dwell on it. He returned to the simple wooden cabin he had created through Synthesis and began his meditation practice.
Outside, Rapunzel's godmother was already hard at work.
She ground several magical plants into powder and mixed them with dragon dung, triggering a fermentation process that would transform the mixture into high-quality magical soil.
She had already selected several plots of land where she intended to establish a new Magic Herb Garden.
Naturally, this would be a premium operation focused on quality rather than quantity.
Rapunzel's godmother also prepared a larger supply of Dragon Dung Fertilizer for Levi.
By mixing only a small amount of Dragon Dung Fertilizer into ordinary soil, the land would become exceptionally fertile. Even after decades of continuous planting, there would be no need to worry about nutrient depletion.
Rapunzel's godmother did not understand why Levi wanted it.
But since Levi had requested it, she simply did as he asked.
It hadn't taken much effort on her part, yet it had truly helped Levi out of a major predicament.
With Detection, Levi already knew how to process dragon dung.
But knowing how to do something and actually being able to do it were two different things.
With Rapunzel's godmother around, things became much easier for Levi.
Next came the time for him to show what he could do.
Using Synthesis, he planned to create crops that grew extremely quickly and produced abundant yields, then plant them throughout the floating territory.
With the monthly harvests, the territory's food shortage could be resolved.
Of course, before that, Levi still needed to find a group of farmers for those fields.
As it happened, he already had some candidates in mind.
The floating territory beneath his feet was currently heading south.
Its destination was precisely where those future farmers were.
...
Thumbelina sat on the swallow's back, her feet resting on its outstretched wings while her belt was tightly fastened around one of its strongest feathers.
The swallow carried Thumbelina into the sky, over the sea, and past towering icebergs.
In the frigid high-altitude air, Thumbelina shivered from the cold. She burrowed into the swallow's warm feathers, leaving only her little head exposed as she admired the beautiful scenery below.
Neither of them noticed that the mysterious aura surrounding Thumbelina was subtly transforming this ordinary swallow, making it anything but ordinary.
Normally, small animals would lose their intelligence after leaving a certain range around Thumbelina and gradually return to their dull, instinct-driven state.
But this swallow, which had carried Thumbelina far away, was different.
It had originally been on the verge of death.
Unknowingly, Thumbelina had used her own power to pull the dying swallow back from death's door. From that moment on, it had become something special.
Although it was still just a swallow, its intelligence endured for a remarkably long time. Even after being separated from Thumbelina for an entire year, it could regain contact with her and still retain its awareness.
Then the swallow carried Thumbelina southward.
During their long time together, Thumbelina's power gradually seeped into the swallow's body, bringing about a permanent transformation.
Now, even if the swallow left Thumbelina, its intelligence would no longer fade away.
It would permanently retain this awareness and wisdom.
Of course, neither of them knew any of this yet.
The swallow simply continued flying south with Thumbelina.
Eventually, they arrived in a warm land.
Located in the southern part of the continent, it was not the swallow's final destination, but the sun's warmth was far gentler than in the place where Thumbelina had been born, and the sky itself seemed unusually high.
The ditches and fences were covered with beautiful green and blue grapes.
Lemon and orange trees filled the woods.
The air was fragrant with peach blossoms and musk.
Groups of cheerful children played together, chasing brightly colored butterflies.
The swallow flew farther and farther, and the scenery grew more beautiful with every passing moment.
Following the swallow, Thumbelina ventured deeper into places untouched by human footsteps.
Beside a crystal-blue lake stood a dense forest.
Within the forest was an ancient white palace built from marble, though it appeared to have been abandoned for a very long time.
Grapevines coiled around its towering columns.
At the tops of those columns were countless swallow nests.
One of them belonged to this swallow... among many others.
As a migratory bird, it maintained nests in numerous places.
This was merely one of them.
The swallow said to Thumbelina, "This is my home."
"You don't need to worry about safety."
"Ordinary people can't even notice this place," the swallow said. "I've lived here for so many years, and I've never seen a single human come here. It's as if they can't see it at all."
What the swallow did not know was that the place where it had built its nest was actually a secret realm.
Ordinary humans truly could not discover it.
Only small animals like swallows were accepted by the secret realm and could enter it freely.
Thumbelina did not know this either.
Looking at the beautiful scenery within the secret realm, she felt completely refreshed, and the oppression she had long carried seemed to vanish without a trace.
The swallow continued, "There are many beautiful flowers growing below."
"You can choose one of them as your new home. You'll feel very comfortable there."
"That's wonderful!"
Thumbelina clapped her tiny hands excitedly.
She looked around and had already chosen a place to live.
There stood a gigantic marble column.
It had fallen to the ground and broken into three pieces.
Yet between those broken sections grew the most beautiful pure white flower imaginable.
"I want to live there," Thumbelina said to the swallow.
So the swallow carried her down and gently placed her upon the flower's large petals.
But at that moment, Thumbelina made a startling discovery.
Seated at the center of the flower was a tiny person!
This flower already had an owner!
The little person's skin was so fair and translucent that it seemed as though it were made of glass.
