This story takes place after the Len and Ran tried to burn the Romaria’s mansion and Ran’s perspective of the assault of Molba Mesner during the Wolf Incident. Before the battle against the RAVENOUS FOREST WOLF.
Our fate had greatly changed when we got adopted by the Romarias. Mama Anna loved us as much as our late Mama Estunia did. Papa Heid cared for us as much as our late Papa Albertos. We are greatly blessed, because of this blessing my brother -Len and I swore that this time, we will protect the family we can finally call home.
This was the only time I had thanked those shady people who had paid us and tried to burn this mansion. Of course I was thankful that we were stopped from burning it down. If not, we would have not met mama and papa. We also got acquitted with master Ace.
When we tried to burn this place under the orders of those shady people, master stopped us with overwhelming strength. Truthfully, when he pinned us down without even hurting us too much, I envied his strength. If only I was this strong, I won’t have to put up with those shady people and would be able to protect Len.
So, when he asked us one day what we wanted to do, both me and Len decided to get stronger under his tutelage, with this we have been given the power to protect that we come to treasure.
Now after weeks of training with him, I can definitely say that his strength is almost bottomless. He was a Spartan trainer though, but I did not mind a little rough play after all I get to spend time with him. No, don’t misunderstand I just want to get stronger, really! If you get it, then it is okay. Ahem!
“Ace, Ran, Len it is almost noon, and we have more guests soon.” After our usual training session, Mama Anna had called us to help with the diner’s operation. Waiting for orders and bussing on tables were one of our main duties in the diner. The one who taught us was of course our master – Ace.
Working for the dinner was not just because we have been adopted by the Mama Anna and Papa Heid. This also a test given to us by Sister Feyth to slowly introduce the orphans who have done bad deeds under the influence of the bad orphanage that took us in. By showing that we can be taught and change our ways, we will be able to help the other orphans get their own homes.
“Yes, mama!” I eagerly answered her and my twin –Len chimed in.
It would have been better if the bad things would just stop coming after us. But I knew better than to let my guard down… never again…
It was when that trouble came knocking. A man, probably a member of the local militia out of breath came telling us that FOREST WOLVES was closing in at the town’s gates.
“6… 8… 12… just twelve wolves, it is doable.” I know master is strong and all but 12… I think that’s too many even for master to handle!
“We can go too!” I was confident that I am able to at least take care one or two wolves. With Len, we should be able to distract the formation of the wolves for Master to finish them off. But…
“No!” It was from papa Heid. Which startled not just me but also Len. “…I’m sorry if I shouted but…” I know he was just worried about us. Papa Albertos too often scolds both Len and I for doing unreasonable stuffs. But if we don’t help… master will…
“Ran! Len!” Master called out our names. He had this known and compassionate eyes that he often gives us after our battle sessions. “I will take care of the Wolves, what is your job?”
It took me and Len awhile to answer… But master’s smile… it reminded me of something.
“…To protect mama and papa!” Of course! Master had asked us something like this before when we told him why we want to get stronger, so our answers should have been obvious from the start. Seeing our conviction master left for the Western Gate.
“Don’t worry about Ace.” Mama who was beside me immediately whispered on my ears.
“I-it’s not like I am worried about him or anything like that, okay!!” why am I even flustered.
Just when the mood was fluffy and warm, a voice I am very familiar with came rushing in my ears.
“Oh! What do we have here, aren’t these kids the suspect for the recent theft and arson.” he was guy that always order us these impossible crimes, what is he talking about? “Heid, Anna I did not think that you are harboring such dangerous criminals.”
Oh no, this is bad, the reason Master had let us wear that mask was not just for our perception training, but also to ensure that these people would not spot us. They are trying to divert their crimes to mama and papa.
“Don’t worry.” Papa Heid just patted my head then smiled.
“Molba, since when did you know that they are the arsonist and thieves.” The one who queried was one of the regulars, the bookworm lady always reading books. “The arson and theft happened years ago the two were not yet here when those happened.”
I see, this was set up from the start. All the costumers probably already knew about Len and me being the arsonist and the thieves but did not pry it thanks to the mama and papa. This was so the criminals would dig their own graves.
“What are you…” The stop in the sentence speaks it all, he noticed the trap too. “That is… we just figured about it just recently…” he trailed his voice knowing he was caught.
There was no point denying it, it was already obvious from the moment and he dug more when he tried to deny it. The orphanage director must have already confessed. That is why mama and papa are confident.
“Ey! If only you did not have come back, Seviles!”
As soon as he shouted those words, he grabbed something on his pocket and blew on something… a whistle. Then panic ensued.

“How did this RAVENOUS FOREST WOLF get here!?”
“Run, we will be eaten.”
“Len, prepare yourself” I knew by instinct we needed to protect mama and papa.
“Ran! Len! Don’t…” papa Heid wanted to stop us but, when the 5-meter-tall wolf took charge, it was now up to us to try and stall for time.
I unsheathed my two Wooden Trial Short Swords while Len took hold of his Staff.
“Hahahah! What can you do with those toys?” The man named – Molba sneered. But he was oblivious, our master is the greatest you’ll see!
This time we will protect our family! This time we will protect Mama and Papa.
