“What did you say!” an unladylike scream came out from my mouth, but it can hardly be helped after all the report that came to my ears was that Goblins were coming out from the Forest of Fae and moving towards the southern gate.

Goblins are one of the Demi-humans monsters. In the books of Bestiary and Demi-Humans, they are said to be offspring of the defiled HYUMAs by Abominations. They continue to propagate by defiling HYUMA. Although they are considered weak by human standard, there number continues to grow day by day, that is their greatest strength.

And if these Goblins attack and defile the streets of these city, an army of Goblins will rise. The thought immediately plunged me to the depth of despair.

“Where are the knights currently…. how long before they arrive at the scene… how are the civilians in the area…” while moving towards the council room another shocking news jumps at me.

“What did you say!” déjà vu… those where my exact words when the first news came to me and now, I am saying those words again. The second news that came to light were as follow: “Students from Galahad School for Knights protected and defeated the monster hordes.”

“Princess-priestess Armina, you need to calm yourself.” My closest and most trusted aide, Patrina scolded me in a light tone.

It would seem that the True Hero Galford Granfall and the Hero Li Jie together with 16 other students manage to eliminate the monster threat and save the civilians without sustaining any damage whatsoever.

I did not know why they were near the Forest of Fae, but I was really grateful that they were able to buy time for the civilians to evacuate inside the city gates, and gave time for the knights, regular militia, and the Hunters to organize a subjugation for them.

“I see…” while I was genuinely grateful that there were no casualties for this monster attack, for some reason I could not be completely happy with the scenario. ‘There must be something moving in the darkness’

“Patrina, how many years has it been since Goblins attacked from the Forest of Fae?”

Goblins were not uncommon in Galvaland. In fact, as they are offspring from Abominations which in turn were born from the First Demon Lord (a king of this very country) and the many raped citizen then, it was not uncommon for them to be here. But there has been massive hunt for these Goblins, so they have been driven far from human settlements. Another fact is that there has been no prior notice from the Hunters’ Guild that a settlement of Goblins had situated in the Forest of Fae. These facts had me thinking that a scheming party was involve in this. I have no evidence to support my worries but simply an inkling… right, a Priestess-Princess’s inkling.

“Hmmm? Must be 300 years ago….” Patrina was probably worried for the same reason as I was as she clenched both her hands on her shoulders. “The Demon Lords must be active again.”

Right Demi-Humans usually get aggressive when the Demon Lords Season starts, and the monster horde that came out from the forest were GOBLINS, there have been rumors that Goblins are JASHIN worshippers, whether that is true or not… Looks like I was right when I chose to summoning a Hero… but what is this feeling that I am still missing something.

“Armina, it is not good to over think.” Patrina is right. Light will eventually shed upon these shadows of doubt.

“Thank you Patrina.”

That night, a party was held in commemoration to the heroic deeds of the 18 students who protected the city until the knights arrived, I heard that rewards for each of them will also be put together.

But the most shocking reward was going to undermine the unladylike scream I had released in my mouth since this morning. The announcement came from my father, King Edbert Archiles Galvaland.

“Everyone, we are eternally grateful to our young heroes who have stopped the monster horde.” The music stopped and his voice spread across the great hall while raising his glass filled with exquisite wine for us subjects to see. “...And as such, I have granted rewards to the leader of this party of knights.”

I heard from the homeroom instructor that the students where in fact divided into two teams with the two heroes as the figure head. Li Jie protecting the civilian and Galford Granfall leading the offensive against the horde. That and another, a Hunter was also present. If rewards should be given, that Hunter should also be given, I wanted father to acknowledge the feat of everyone. But as he is in the middle of his speech, I could not voice out the information.

“Kneel before your king.” placing his sword in front of him. “I dub thee all Knights of Galvaland.”

Commotion started to raise all the while applauses here and there echoed throughout the great hall.

“All students here will be formed as a Knights Orden.” His voice continued spurring more commotions to the gallery. “And the one to lead you is the One True Hero, Galford Granfall. Hail the Granfall Knight's Orden!”

“But, father they are still students and besides…” before even finishing my words the king stops me using his free hand.

“Do not fret my princess, tonight is just a formality and they will actually be ordinated after finishing their first year in Galahad School for Knights.”

After their first year, that is actually still too fast. And besides… before I could even finish my thoughts, sensing my doubt, father cast stern look towards me.

“Everything is by the will of our lord.”

And everyone become merry again.

“Princess, is something the matter?” Patrina comes closer to me with worried look on her face.

“Nothing…” I could only answer her vaguely.

That night I could not sleep, why did my father ordinated the heroes as knights, won’t they be fixated to protecting this kingdom instead of the world?

Right, when the two had asked me to give them a tour to the facilities of the kingdom, I had in defiance to my father’s wishes, wanted the two heroes to join the Hunter’s Guild. Since time immemorial summoned Heroes had been affiliated by Hunters Guild.

Even the summoned First Hero, our ancestor had joined the Hunter’s Guild to purge the threat of the First Demon Lord. Only when the First Demon Lord was bested did the First Hero joined the Rank of Knights. There are other reasons other than my knight ancestor, for one the Hunters specialize on a wide area of expertise. But my main reason was because, the Guild is independent to the state so the two should have been able to operate outside our kingdom’s rule, making them the worlds hero rather than from one kingdom.

Now, that they were knighted, they will be fixed on protecting this kingdom as their fealty has been sworn to protect the kingdom of Galvaland… to protect the king. I too want to protect the citizens of Galvaland, but not to the extent of denying the whole of Resmere the hero that they deserve.

“Father, what exactly are you thinking?”
