100X Returns: I Can Assign Quests to Anyone

Chapter 79: Ch 79: Next Quests

The sun crested over the towering white marble spires of the celestial city. Its golden rays spilled into the commercial district, washing the cobblestone streets in a warm and inviting glow. Inside the newly restored apothecary, the morning light filtered through pristine glass windows that sparkled with residual mending magic. The shop was no longer just a humble storefront. It had been transformed overnight into a veritable fortress of beauty and arcane perfection.

Chloe and Sarah had utilized their highest tier restoration skills, but they had not stopped at mere repairs. The wooden shelves were now carved from ancient world tree timber, pulsing with a faint, natural hum that kept the rare herbs perfectly preserved. The massive brass cauldron gleamed like liquid gold, reinforced by Aaron utilizing his advanced plasma tempering techniques. Even the floors had been upgraded to pure celestial quartz, absorbing the morning sunlight and radiating a soothing, ambient warmth throughout the room.

Naida stood in the center of the shop, spinning slowly in a circle. Her amethyst eyes were wide with absolute wonder. She reached out and brushed her fingertips against a row of glowing crystal vials. The glass chimed with a musical, resonant frequency.

"It is incredibly beautiful," Naida whispered in pure awe. "It is far better than it was before. I do not even know how to properly thank your team, Raidan."

Raidan stood leaning against the heavy oak doorframe, his arms crossed casually over his chest. He wore a fresh tunic of deep forest green, completely relaxed in the safety of their sovereign territory.

"You do not need to thank them," Raidan replied softly, a warm smile gracing his lips. "They serve the Verdian Empire, and soon you will be the Empress. To them, securing your happiness is the highest possible priority. Besides, they enjoyed the exercise."

Before Naida could respond, a soft swirling vortex of shadow materialized in the corner of the room. Leo stepped out of the darkness, bowing deeply. His black robes were perfectly immaculate, showing no signs of the night’s exhaustive labor.

"Master Verde, The perimeter is entirely secure. The Detroit guards have been stationed at all major intersection points leading to this street. Furthermore, Aaron and Chloe are currently overseeing the subjugation of District 9."

Raidan nodded, his expression shifting from a loving fiancé to a calculated faction leader. He gestured for Leo to continue.

"The eradication of the Serpent Guild headquarters left a massive power vacuum in the lower slums. Several minor gangs attempted to claim the territory in the aftermath. Aaron utilized a localized plasma bombardment to discourage them. The surviving elements have completely surrendered. We have successfully planted the Verdian faction banner in the center of the crater. The system has officially recognized the entire district as your personal domain."

"Excellent work. I want Sarah to establish a cross realm portal matrix in the center of that crater. We will use the former syndicate territory as a forward operating base. The Detroit camp needs celestial herbs and clean magical water. Olympus needs advanced plasma weaponry and refined earth metals. We will create a direct supply pipeline between the two worlds."

Leo raised his head slightly, his eyes gleaming with admiration at the sheer scope of the plan.

"It shall be done, Master. However, there is one minor complication approaching our current location."

Raidan raised a single eyebrow. "Specify."

"The High Council of Vanir has mobilized. Their system monitors detected the absolute spatial compression you unleashed last night. They are currently marching down the main thoroughfare toward this apothecary. They are bringing a detachment of fifty elite templar knights and three grand elders."

Naida gasped softly, her hands flying to cover her mouth. The High Council was the supreme governing body of the celestial city. They were ancient, unfathomably powerful beings who dictated the laws of the realm. Provoking them usually meant instant execution.

"Raidan, the High Council. They do not tolerate unsanctioned territory expansion. They will see the destruction of District 9 as an act of open rebellion."

Raidan let out a low, dark chuckle. He reached out and gently stroked Naida’s silver hair, silently reassuring her.

"Let them come. They have ignored the corruption in the slums for centuries. Now that I have cleansed the filth from their city, they want to complain about the method. Leo, tell the Detroit guards to hold their fire unless attacked. I will handle these elders personally."

"By your will," Leo said, melting back into the shadows.

Raidan gently took Naida by the hand and led her out the front door of the apothecary.

The street outside was tense. The two dozen heavily armored guards from Earth stood in a perfect defensive line. Their sleek, black power armor contrasted sharply with the magical aesthetic of the celestial city. They held their advanced plasma rifles at the ready, the weapon barrels glowing with lethal blue energy.

Marching down the cobblestone street toward them was a grand procession. Fifty templar knights clad in gleaming silver armor rode upon majestic armored griffons.

Behind them floated a massive, gilded carriage pulled by invisible arcane forces. The carriage halted twenty yards away from the apothecary defensive line.

The doors of the carriage swung open. Three elderly men draped in opulent golden robes stepped out. They radiated intense magical pressure, their auras glowing like miniature suns. The lead elder, a man with a long white beard and a crown of woven light, stepped forward. His eyes were filled with righteous fury.

"Who claims responsibility for the atrocity committed in District 9?!

Step forward and face the judgment of the High Council! You have violated the sacred laws of Olympus!" the lead elder bellowed, his magically amplified voice shaking the windows of the nearby buildings.

Raidan did not shout. He simply stepped past his line of guards, letting go of Naida’s hand.

He walked slowly toward the three elders. He did not activate his Master Verde persona. He did not need to. He simply let a fraction of his true, unrestrained Zenith Emperor aura leak into the physical world.

The air between them grew instantly heavy. The cobblestones beneath Raidan’s boots began to crack and splinter under the sheer, concentrated gravity of his presence. The majestic griffons ridden by the templar knights panicked, bucking wildly and attempting to flee from the overwhelming predator approaching them.

The three elders froze in their tracks. The righteous fury in their eyes was instantly replaced by absolute, paralyzing terror. The lead elder choked on his own breath as the suffocating pressure crushed his lungs.

"I am the one who claimed District 9. The Serpent Guild destroyed property belonging to my future wife. Therefore, I erased them from existence. Do you have an objection to my methods?"

The system interface flickered violently above the elders’ heads, displaying a barrage of fatal warning signs. Their high level appraisal skills were screaming at them, analyzing Raidan’s stats and returning nothing but infinite, unreadable errors. They suddenly realized they were not standing before a rogue mage or a rebellious warlord. They were standing before a living god of destruction.

The lead elder swallowed hard, his golden robes suddenly feeling entirely too heavy. He forced his trembling knees to lock so he would not collapse into the dirt.

"You... you possess a power beyond our comprehension. The syndicate was a blight upon this city. We... we only came to ascertain the identity of the one who finally removed them."

"Now you know my identity. My name is Raidan. I am the Zenith Emperor of the Verdian Empire. This street, this apothecary, and the entirety of District 9 now belong to me. My laws govern these territories. If your knights step foot inside my domain without an invitation, I will compress your grand council chambers into a marble just like I did to the syndicate. Do we have a clear understanding?"

The absolute silence that followed was deafening. The templar knights lowered their weapons, their eyes glued to the ground in a display of total submission.

"We understand completely, Your Majesty. The High Council officially recognizes your sovereignty over District 9. We will update the celestial registry immediately."

Raidan stared at them for a long moment, letting the heavy, oppressive silence stretch out to cement his absolute dominance.

"There is one more thing. I am getting married on the next full moon. My bride deserves a celebration worthy of an empress. The High Council will provide the venue, the decorations, and the highest quality celestial silk available in the realm. Consider it a tribute to ensure our continued peaceful coexistence."

The lead elder blinked in surprise, but he quickly nodded his head frantically.

"Of course, Your Majesty! It will be our absolute honor to host your wedding. We will spare no expense. We will open the Grand Palace of Light for the ceremony."

"See that you do,. Leave this street immediately. I have a date to plan." Raidan replied.

The elders practically scrambled back into their gilded carriage. The templar knights turned their griffons around with desperate haste. Within sixty seconds, the entire grand procession had fled the commercial district, leaving behind only the echoing silence of their rapid retreat.
