Chapter 94: The School Incident III (Bonus)
"To hell with the student body, you damn liar! You are doing this for yourself! You think I don’t know what this is!? You jealous fucking bastard! You hate the fact that I’m better than you and you think you can use the excuse of retention to get rid of me!?"
Mirio narrowed his eyes at Hildegard, and he spoke up in a voice that was as calm as ever.
"I will advise you against throwing around such baseless accusations. I never said anything about making this choice on my own. It was made by the entire student union body unanimously. And also, you will do well to watch your tone, Hildegard. Remember that you are in the administrative wing of the school. The least you can do is show proper respect to the teachers around you."
Hildegard’s anger only continued to grow the longer she looked at Mirio’s face! Hildegard knew exactly what was going on here! Mirio was using the excuse of correcting the mood of the students to make people think that he cared about the school, but Hildegard knew the truth! Mirio was a conniving bastard who just wanted her gone so he could take the top spot in the academy year! This was their fifth and final year in this school, and at the end there were a lot of rewards that would be given to the student who stayed at the top of the year this time! Hildegard refused to allow Mirio to take what was rightfully hers!
Mirio continued to speak.
"I understand that this comes as a surprise to you, and I sympathize with you. But I cannot in good conscience prioritize the well-being of one student in exchange for the well-being of the entire student body. You were involved with something that goes beyond the jurisdiction of this school, Hildegard. So it is only right for the sake of your schoolmates that you leave your studies behind for a short time so you can deal with the issues. The school doors will remain open for you from next year. So once you have cleared your name of all accusations, then you may return and complete –"
Mirio did not get to finish that sentence. In the time since Mirio began speaking, the anger inside of Hildegard had only continued to grow! It felt like there was a heavy sledgehammer striking the base of her skull over and over again, and Hildegard’s magic swirled under her skin with a raw intensity! Hildegard knew somewhere at the back of her mind that she would suffer even more punishment if she dared to lash out right now, but that small amount of reason was completely overshadowed by the sheer rage that had consumed Hildegard! And it was only a matter of time before the rage finally erupted!
"RARRGGHH!"
BOOM!
Hildegard roared angrily towards Mirio, and a burst of pure magic tore through the room and sent everyone flying back! Hildegard was a third realm mage with an extraordinary amount of mana, so even though she did not add any special element to the attack, just the pure mana alone was enough to cause immense damage! The three students who had been sitting at the table were thrown off their chairs, and the table crashed into the wall and shattered to pieces!
The two Hall Monitors behind Hildegard were strong enough to withstand the blast, so they only took a few steps back before they jumped forward and tackled Hildegard to the floor! But the person who suffered the worst fate was Mirio! Mirio was so stunned by the attack that he couldn’t put up a defence in time, and so he was taken off his feet and sent flying back, straight through the large window behind him!
Everyone in the room felt their eyes widen in shock when they saw this, and one of the Hall Monitors cursed! They were on the fifth floor!
"Go check on him right now!"
The Hall Monitor shouted to his partner, and the partner nodded as he ran to make sure the president had landed safely! The main Hall Monitor restrained Hildegard using a set of anti-magic silver chains, and Hildegard didn’t resist as she was dragged to her feet! The Hall Monitor then shouted to his partner!
"How is he!? Did he make it!?"
The partner shouted back:
"Yeah, he made it! But he’s hurt!"
Down on the ground, the student council president slowly got up from the floor while cradling his left arm gently! There was a look of fury painted across his face, but underneath that fury, anyone who looked would be able to see a triumphant expression shining through as well! This was better than anything the president could have hoped for! The request that the student union was planning to submit to the headmaster was something that only had a 50-50 chance of succeeding since they knew that the headmaster was on Hildegard’s side, but now that she had hurt him, their chances of having her removed from this school had just shot up exponentially!
"What is going on in here!?"
A new voice echoed from the door leading into the student council room, and everyone turned to see that a crowd was starting to form in the room! This was the administrative building, so many of the teachers in the other offices immediately gathered once they heard the commotion! In front of these teachers was Clement, the teacher in charge of Artefact Analysis and Appraisal, and he looked around the ruined room with a critical gaze!
Clement took in the sight of the broken table and the students on their knees before recognizing the obvious sensation of raw magic in the air! Clement turned towards Hildegard, who was being held back by one of the Hall Monitors, and he spoke with an enraged expression!
"Are you responsible for this, Hildegard!?"
Hildegard refused to look at the teachers, and she simply continued to stare at the floor with a frown! Clement stepped forward to confront the lamia, but another person forced her way through the crowd and quickly got between Hildegard and Clement with a frown.
"What do you think you’re about to do to a student?"
Rosa frowned at Clement angrily, and Clement glared at her before waving his hand around the room!
"Look what your ’student’ did. I told you it was a bad idea to allow her to continue in this school. It is in her nature to cause destruction, and it was only a matter of time before she really hurt somebody!"
Many teachers behind Clement immediately began to agree with him since they felt like they understood everything that was happening just from what they could see. Rosa looked around the room with a frown before she finally turned to look at Hildegard and asked her to explain what had happened here. But Hildegard still refused to say anything, and once Rosa realised that Hildegard was not going to give an explanation, Rosa finally turned to the Hall Monitors and asked them to explain.
The Hall Monitors told the teachers how Hildegard had come here to speak to the student council president about her academic calendar and how the Student Union was planning on holding Hildegard back for a year to allow the students to stabilize again.
Rosa’s eyes narrowed in shock when she heard this!
