Veil of Dominion: F*ta Empress of Valthoria

Chapter 93: The Trap is Sprung

The Golden Legion’s trap was perfectly set under the command of a seasoned orc general named Grommash Bloodfist, reinforced with Aelthar Sylvandor’s strategic oversight. A small convoy of seemingly vulnerable merchant vessels sailed into the pirate ambush zone under the cover of a cloudy night. Their holds were deliberately filled with just enough valuable cargo to appear tempting, but the ships themselves had been heavily modified in secret. Hidden rune-warded warships waited in nearby coves, their crews blessed with enhanced strength, stamina, and night vision by the cult’s high priests.

The bait convoy moved slowly through the dark waters, lanterns glowing faintly to maintain the illusion of normal trade traffic. Aelthar stood on the deck of the flagship, his long silver hair tied back and his crimson eyes scanning the horizon with cold focus. He wore dark tactical robes that blended with the night, his presence calm and commanding.

When the elf-funded pirates struck, they did so with the same ruthless efficiency as their previous attack. Three black-sailed vessels emerged from the shadows, arrows whistling through the air as grappling hooks flew toward the merchant ships. The raiders shouted battle cries as they prepared to board.

But this time the Golden Empire was ready.

Runes flared to life across the decks of the disguised merchant vessels. Teal light blazed brightly as the hidden wards activated. Hulls strengthened with reinforced magic, sails filled with unnatural speed, and the ships suddenly turned with surprising agility. The two hidden Golden Legion warships burst from the coves at full speed, their own runes glowing as they closed in like predators.

The battle erupted into chaos.

Cannon fire thundered across the water as the Legion ships unleashed devastating broadsides. Explosions of teal-infused fire ripped into the pirate vessels, shattering masts and tearing through hulls. The pirates, expecting an easy victory, were thrown into disarray. Their arrows bounced harmlessly off the rune-strengthened hulls of the Golden ships, while the Legion’s return fire was far more accurate and deadly.

Boarding parties launched from the Golden vessels with terrifying discipline. Seasoned orc marines and blessed human warriors leaped across the gap, their bodies enhanced by teal runes that granted them superhuman strength and endurance. They crashed onto the pirate decks like a tidal wave of steel and fury.

Grommash Bloodfist led the main assault, his massive axe swinging in wide, devastating arcs. “For the Golden Demoness!” he roared, his voice booming across the water. He cleaved through two pirates in a single swing, sending them flying overboard in sprays of blood. His warriors followed, cutting down the raiders with brutal efficiency.

The pirates fought desperately, their elven archers trying to pick off Legion officers from the rigging, but the blessed Golden troops moved with unnatural speed. Arrows were batted aside or simply failed to penetrate rune-hardened armor. The boarding parties overwhelmed the raiders in brutal close combat. Swords clashed against cutlasses. Blood slicked the decks as the Golden Legion showed no mercy.

Aelthar watched from the flagship with cold satisfaction, his hands clasped behind his back. He issued occasional calm commands through enchanted communication crystals, directing the flow of the battle with precision. “Focus fire on their lead ship. Cut off their escape route. Take the captains alive if possible. I want them to talk.”

The trap closed perfectly. Within an hour the three pirate vessels were completely overwhelmed. One was sunk after its hull was breached by concentrated cannon fire, disappearing beneath the waves with a final groan of timber. The other two were captured after their crews were subdued. The surviving pirates were bound in enchanted chains that suppressed their strength, their leaders dragged before Aelthar on the deck of the flagship.

The Golden Legion had suffered only light casualties thanks to the runes and careful planning, while the pirate force was shattered. Valuable cargo was recovered, and several important prisoners, including a high-ranking elven advisor who had been coordinating the attacks, were secured below deck.

Aelthar stood over the bound prisoners with a cold, elegant smile. “The trap is sprung. Take them to Port Veyra. Our Goddess will want to question them personally.”

As the captured ships were towed back toward Port Veyra under Golden Legion escort, Aelthar allowed himself a moment of quiet satisfaction. The elves had drawn first blood on the water, but the Golden Empire had answered with overwhelming force. The message was clear: attacking the Golden Demoness came with a heavy price.

The coast was still hers, and the war was far from over.

The captured pirate leaders were brought to Port Veyra in heavy enchanted chains, paraded through the main streets under heavy Golden Legion guard. The once-feared raiders now looked utterly broken and humiliated. Their fine weapons and dark clothing were gone, replaced by simple prisoner garb stained with seawater and blood. Heavy iron manacles bound their wrists and ankles, glowing with teal suppression runes that drained their strength and prevented any attempt at escape or spellcasting.

The procession moved slowly through the boulevards so that the citizens could witness the empire’s victory. Golden Legion soldiers marched in perfect formation on both sides of the prisoners, their armor gleaming under the afternoon sun. Citizens lined the streets in large numbers, cheering loudly and throwing insults at the captured pirates. Rotten fruit, old fish, and handfuls of dirt were hurled at the defeated raiders, who could only stumble forward with their heads bowed in shame.

“Look at them now!” one dockworker shouted, his voice filled with triumph. “The great pirates who thought they could challenge the Golden Demoness! Now they crawl like dogs!”

Children ran alongside the procession, laughing and pointing. Women cheered from windows, waving rising sun banners. The atmosphere was electric with righteous anger and celebration. The people of Port Veyra, many of whom had already embraced the Golden Empire’s blessings, showed no mercy to those who had dared attack their prosperity.

The Golden Legion marched the prisoners straight to the central square, where a large wooden platform had been prepared for public judgment.

The people gathered in large numbers, filling the square and surrounding streets, eager to see the enemies of the Golden Empire brought low.

XXXX

In the main square of Port Veyra, the captured pirate leaders were forced to their knees on the raised wooden platform. Heavy enchanted chains bound their wrists and ankles, glowing with teal suppression runes that left them weak and powerless. The once-proud raiders now looked utterly defeated, their heads bowed and bodies trembling under the weight of public humiliation. A massive crowd had gathered, filling every inch of the square and spilling into the surrounding streets. Thousands of citizens, dockworkers, merchants, labourers, and loyal devotees pressed forward, eager to witness the enemies of the Golden Empire brought low.

Kaelara stood at the centre of the platform, her powerful presence commanding absolute silence the moment she stepped forward. She wore a regal yet intimidating ensemble of crimson and gold that clung to her voluptuous figure, her golden crown resting atop her messy blonde hair. Her turquoise eyes swept over the crowd with burning intensity, and the air itself seemed to still in reverence.

Two Golden Legion guards dragged the lead pirate, a scarred and weathered man who had once commanded respect among the raiders, to the front of the platform. Under a combination of magical compulsion from the cult’s priests and the overwhelming public pressure, the pirate broke completely.

He lifted his head with great effort, his voice hoarse and bitter as he confessed before the entire city. “We were funded by the Sylvar Dominion,” he spat, the words forced out of him. “The elves paid us in gold and weapons to strike your ships. They wanted to weaken you without risking direct war. They gave us the shipping schedules, the routes, everything. They called you invaders and said weakening the Golden Empire would protect their forests. We were just the blades they wielded from the shadows.”

The crowd erupted in outrage. Shouts of betrayal and raw anger exploded across the square like a thunderclap.

“The elves!” a dockworker bellowed, his face red with fury. “Traitors! Cowards hiding behind pirates!”

“Betrayed by the forest kin!” another voice roared. “They attack our livelihood while pretending to be neutral!”

“Death to the Sylvar Dominion!” a group of women shouted in unison, their voices sharp with righteous fury.

The entire square boiled with indignation. People pushed forward, fists raised, chanting against the elves. The revelation had ignited a fire in the hearts of the people. What had been quiet resentment toward external interference now turned into open, unified hatred for the Sylvar Dominion.

Kaelara raised her hand for silence. The gesture was simple, yet the crowd fell quiet almost instantly, hanging on her every word. Her expression remained calm and regal, but her turquoise eyes burned with righteous fury that mirrored the anger of her people.

She stepped to the very edge of the platform, her voice magically amplified so that every soul in the square and beyond could hear her clearly. Her tone was powerful, manipulative, and filled with seductive authority.

“My beloved people of Port Veyra, hear me now,” Kaelara began, her voice rolling like thunder wrapped in silk. “The Sylvar Dominion hides in their ancient forests and funds cowards to bleed us. They fear our prosperity. They fear the strength we have built together. They fear the joy and power I bring to every loyal soul who serves me. So, they strike from the shadows like thieves in the night, paying pirates to attack our ships, to steal our wealth, and to spill the blood of honest workers who only wish to live and thrive under my protection.”

She paused, letting the words sink in as the crowd murmured with growing anger.

“But we will not be broken!” Kaelara’s voice rose powerfully. “We will not cower before hidden knives and whispered treachery. Today we strengthen our resolve. Today we see the true face of our enemy. The coast is ours. Every wave, every ship, every port belongs to the Golden Empire. And soon, the elves will learn the true cost of their treachery. I promise you this: their forests will tremble. Their ancient pride will shatter. And when the time comes, they will kneel before the Golden Demoness just as you have.”

The crowd cheered wildly, their loyalty to the Golden Demoness solidified in that moment. Thousands of voices rose as one, chanting her name with fervent devotion.

“Golden Demoness! Golden Demoness! Golden Demoness!”

Kaelara let the chant build, her expression one of fierce pride as she looked out over her people. She raised her hands again, and the crowd quieted once more, eager for her next words.

“These pirates were merely tools,” she continued, gesturing contemptuously toward the kneeling raiders. “Broken blades wielded by cowardly hands. But the true enemy has revealed itself. The Sylvar Dominion will pay for every ship they attacked, for every sailor they murdered, and for every drop of blood they spilled on our waters. From this day forward, any who aid our enemies will share their fate. But those who stand with me, who work for me, who worship with me, will be rewarded beyond measure. Your families will prosper. Your bodies will be strong. Your pleasures will be endless. This is my promise to you.”

She turned slightly and pointed at the captured pirates.

“These men thought they could weaken us. Instead, they have only made us stronger. Their failure will be a warning to all who dare oppose the Golden Empire. Let their punishment serve as a lesson that will echo across the Azure Coast and into the forests themselves.”

The crowd roared in approval, the energy in the square reaching a fever pitch. People hugged one another, chanted her name, and openly celebrated the revelation. The public anger that had been building was now perfectly directed outward toward the Sylvar Dominion. What could have been internal division had been transformed into unified hatred for an external enemy.

Kaelara stood tall on the platform, basking in the adoration of her people. The trap had been sprung, the truth revealed, and the Golden Empire grew even stronger from this victory.

The coast was hers. And soon, the forests would be as well.
