Chapter 175 174: Lilith: Watch Me Set Him Up
In the pure white system space, a light screen floated.
[World Loading Confirmed]
[Movie World: Rampage]
[Mission Objective: Kill the Invaders]
[Mission Time Limit: 15 Days]
[Plot Participants: 11 People]
[Enter Immediately?]
Lilith stood before the light screen, her scarlet eyes sweeping over the lines of cold text, finally settling on the four words: [Kill the Invaders].
The corner of her mouth slowly curled into an arc.
"Kill the invaders..."
She repeated softly, her youthful voice echoing in the blank space.
This instance was a bit interesting.
Usually, dungeon missions were either [Survival] or [Escape], at most killing a designated boss. But this time, the mission objective was actually to kill invaders.
In other words, she and the ten other participants existed as the defending side.
And who would the invaders be?
Lilith licked her lips, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes.
"Yes."
The youthful voice rang out without any hesitation.
The next moment, white light swallowed her vision, and Lilith disappeared.
...
Chicago, on a bustling City street.
Crowds were bustling, and the flow of traffic was incessant.
The glass curtain walls of skyscrapers reflected the afternoon sun, a street performer played a melodious saxophone, and the outdoor seats of a coffee shop were filled with relaxed guests.
No one noticed a petite figure appearing out of thin air in a secluded corner of an alley.
Lilith walked out of the alley and blended into the crowd.
She had changed her clothes; she was no longer wearing her signature Gothic military uniform, but instead a simple white T-shirt paired with denim shorts that revealed half her thighs, and a pair of black ankle boots on her feet.
Her silver-white hair hung loosely, shimmering with a soft luster under the sunlight.
This outfit was fashionable with a hint of liveliness, no different from the other lightly dressed City girls nearby.
Except for that face.
A face so exquisite it didn't seem real.
Soon, the surrounding pedestrians began to notice her.
Some were stunned, some turned back, and some stopped in their tracks, staring blankly at this silver-haired little girl who seemed to have walked out of a painting.
"Oh my God..."
A middle-aged woman carrying shopping bags covered her mouth.
"Whose little angel is this?"
"She's so cute!"
A few female college students gathered together and whispered.
"Is that hair dyed? It's so beautiful, I want the same style!"
"She seems to be alone? Where are her parents?"
Lilith seemed oblivious to these gazes, merely walking casually down the street, her scarlet eyes scanning this unfamiliar City.
Eventually, she came to a river that ran through the City.
Just then, a tall figure blocked her path.
It was a Black man wearing a flashy shirt, with a smile on his face that he thought was kind.
His gaze swept over Lilith, a hint of hidden greed flashing in his eyes.
"Hey there, kid,"
He bent down and asked in accented English.
"Where are your mommy and daddy? Are you lost?"
Lilith looked up at the dark face.
She scanned the surroundings—there was no aura of other Reincarnators.
The corners of her mouth turned up slightly, revealing an innocent smile.
"I don't have a daddy, and I don't have a mommy."
The man was slightly stunned, and then a flash of pleasant surprise appeared in his eyes.
No daddy? No mommy?
That made things much easier!
Such an exquisite little girl, if sold to those wealthy businessmen, would be enough for him to live comfortably for a year or two!
The smile on his face became even kinder, and his voice softer.
"In that case, why don't you come with uncle? Uncle has yummy food, and lots and lots of toys."
As he spoke, he reached out, wanting to take Lilith's small hand.
Lilith tilted her head, still maintaining that innocent smile.
Then, she spoke.
"No."
She said gigglingly, her scarlet eyes curving into crescents, looking extremely adorable.
"I hate Black people."
"Especially ones as dark as you."
The man's smile instantly froze on his face.
A flash of anger appeared in his eyes, and the mask of hypocrisy on his face completely shattered.
He stared fiercely at the little girl, took a step forward, and reached out to grab her slender neck.
The smile on Lilith's lips deepened.
The next second—
"Help—!!!"
A shrill scream echoed throughout the entire street!
Lilith's body seemed to be struck by a huge force, falling backward uncontrollably. With a bang, she crashed through the metal railing behind her, falling toward the rapid river below the bridge!
Splash!
Water splashed up, and the petite figure was instantly swallowed by the river.
The whole street instantly erupted!
"Oh my God!!!"
"That bastard pushed that little girl!"
"I saw it! It was him! It was him!"
Countless gazes were simultaneously cast toward the man who was still frozen in place with his hand outstretched.
Anger erupted like a volcano!
"Catch him!!!"
"Don't let him get away!!"
"Beat this guy to death!!"
Several strong white men were the first to rush forward, a fist slamming hard into the man's face!
Then came a second punch, a third punch, and countless fists fell like raindrops!
More people crowded around, surrounding the man and kicking and punching him!
Some began to call the police, some called for an ambulance, and some jumped directly into the river wanting to save her—
The entire street was in chaos.
And the instigator of all this was currently drifting leisurely toward the distance along the rapid river.
Under the water, Lilith opened her eyes, her scarlet slit pupils still clearly visible in the dark river water.
A mischievous smile curled at the corner of her mouth.
If that man was lucky, he might be saved by the police and then face imprisonment.
If he was unlucky...
That group of white men hadn't been gentle just now.
However, none of that had anything to do with her anymore.
She turned around, like a nimble fish, and accelerated downstream.
The goal—
The ocean.
...
The Chicago River connected to Lake Michigan, and Lake Michigan eventually led to the Atlantic Ocean.
Lilith traveled rapidly through the river water, her Speed far exceeding that of any fish.
Occasionally, ships would pass by, but they could only see a blurred white shadow flashing by beneath the surface, thinking their eyes were playing tricks on them.
Half an hour later, she successfully entered Lake Michigan.
An hour later, she reached the Atlantic Ocean.
The azure seawater enveloped her, and sunlight penetrated the surface, forming swaying pillars of light in the deep sea.
Schools of fish swam past, sea turtles leisurely paddled their limbs, and the silhouettes of several dolphins were vaguely visible in the distance.
Lilith stopped her movement, floating in the seawater, and took a deep breath.
A familiar feeling.
Comfortable.
She closed her eyes, her Spirit spreading out like radar to the surroundings, searching the terrain and biological distribution of this sea area.
Scaly-foot Snails liked to live near deep-sea hydrothermal vents.
The Mid-Atlantic Ridge was the largest underwater mountain range on Earth, where volcanic activity was frequent and hydrothermal vents were densely distributed; theoretically, they should be there.
She opened her eyes, her scarlet slit pupils looking toward the dark deep sea in the distance.
Fifteen days.
The time was sufficient.
She gave a light kick with her toes, and her petite figure shot toward the deep sea like an arrow from a bow.
Behind her, a string of small bubbles was left, which soon dissipated into the boundless azure.
