MARVEL/DC: DOCTOR IN THE MULTIVERSE

Chapter 161: Quantum Scaling

The repair factor reached the first collapse point.

At the subatomic scale, conventional surgery ceased to exist.

There were no scalpels.

No sutures.

No tissues in the traditional sense.

Only probability.

Only uncertainty.

Only quantum states fluctuating between countless possibilities.

Using a combination of absolute muscle control, electromagnetic manipulation, and the guidance of the All-Seeing Eye, Lynn carefully directed the repair factors toward the unstable gene sequence.

The objective was simple.

Anchor the collapse point.

Force the unstable quantum state back into a deterministic one.

In practice, it was anything but simple.

Each correction had to occur within a time window measured in trillionths of a second.

Any delay would allow the quantum state to drift again.

The All-Seeing Eye continuously supplied real-time calculations.

Target.

Lock.

Anchor.

Collapse.

Repair.

Seven collapse points.

One after another.

The process lasted thirty-seven minutes.

Finally—

The seventh and final collapse point stabilized.

The repair factors completed their work.

Cassie's quantum-level genetic abnormalities disappeared.

The density of her cellular nuclei rapidly returned to normal values.

The faint translucence affecting her skin faded.

Her body began restoring itself.

"Good."

Lynn withdrew the syringe.

"All done."

Cassie slowly opened her eyes.

For several seconds she simply stared at her hands.

Then she flipped them over repeatedly.

Examining them from every angle.

The transparency was gone.

Her eyes widened.

"Dad!"

"My hands!"

"They're normal!"

Scott Lang's knees nearly gave out.

The tension he had carried for months finally shattered.

He rushed forward and wrapped his daughter in his arms.

A grown man knelt beside the examination table.

Holding his daughter tightly.

His shoulders shook.

He wasn't crying loudly.

But his reddened eyes said enough.

Lynn simply washed his hands and returned to the reception desk.

He gave Scott time.

Three minutes.

No interruption.

No commentary.

Three minutes later, Scott stood up.

He quickly wiped his face.

"Dr. Lynn."

"Hm?"

"I owe you my life."

Lynn shook his head.

"No."

"You retrieved something I needed."

"I treated your daughter."

"Equal exchange."

Scott immediately shook his head.

"No."

"It isn't."

His voice was firm.

"You saved her."

"There isn't a scale on Earth that balances that."

Lynn looked at him quietly.

Then adjusted his glasses.

"If you really want to repay me..."

Scott immediately straightened.

"Anything."

"I'll contact you if I need help in the future."

Scott didn't hesitate.

Not even for a second.

"Whenever."

"Just call."

"Good."

Lynn nodded.

"Bring Cassie back in one week."

"Follow-up examination."

Scott smiled.

For the first time since entering the clinic.

A genuine smile.

"Thank you."

As they reached the door, Cassie suddenly turned around.

She waved enthusiastically.

"Thank you, Dr. Lynn!"

Lynn gave a small nod.

"You're welcome."

The clinic door closed.

Silence returned.

...

Late that night.

The underground laboratory was quiet.

Only the hum of equipment filled the air.

Lynn sat alone before the central workstation.

The quartz vial containing the remaining Pym Particles rested on the table.

Approximately nineteen milliliters remained.

During Cassie's treatment, only 0.03 milliliters had been used.

The remainder represented one of the greatest scientific discoveries in Marvel history.

Enough to alter the relationship between matter and scale.

Enough to open pathways into the Quantum Realm.

Enough to change civilizations.

Lynn wasn't in a hurry to use them.

Instead, he waited.

The treatment had accomplished something far more important.

For the first time, he had truly operated at a quantum level.

Not theoretical analysis.

Not observation.

Direct manipulation.

The experience alone was invaluable.

The Quantum Realm was deeper than he had anticipated.

Far deeper.

Then the system activated.

A familiar notification appeared.

[Ding! Treatment Complete!]

[Rating: S · Amazing!]

[Masterful Copy Activated...]

[Scanning Target Ability Database...]

Lynn raised an eyebrow.

Cassie Lang?

A seven-year-old child?

What exactly could the system copy?

Then new text appeared.

[Potential extraordinary genetic signature detected.]

[Quantum Realm Affinity Gene Fragment (Dormant State)]

[Origin: Long-term passive exposure to trace Pym Particle radiation.]

[Healing contribution evaluated...]

[S-Rank Copy Permission Granted.]

[Copying Target Ability...]

[Quantum Scaling and Atomic Interference]

[Progress: 15%...]

[43%...]

[71%...]

[100%!]

[Ding! Copy Complete!]

[Obtained S-Rank Talent:]

[Quantum Scaling and Atomic Interference]

[Ability Description:]

[Through conscious control, you may alter the atomic spacing of yourself and physical objects in contact with you.]

[Capable of molecular-scale reduction and enlargement.]

[Physical attributes are retained during size alteration.]

[When reduced beyond the atomic threshold, access to the edge of the Quantum Realm becomes possible.]

Lynn narrowed his eyes.

Physical attributes retained.

That sentence mattered.

A lot.

Marvel's Pym Particle mechanics had always operated differently from conventional physics.

Mass.

Momentum.

Size.

The relationships between them became highly flexible under Pym Particle influence.

In practical terms—

He could reduce himself to the size of a grain of sand.

Yet retain the full power of the Immortal Divine Body.

The thought was absurd.

And terrifying.

A microscopic body.

Containing enough strength to shatter mountains.

Or—

Compress an entire vehicle into a matchbox-sized object while preserving its underlying physical properties.

Microscopic-scale physical dominance.

But that wasn't what interested him most.

Lynn's gaze shifted.

Toward another section of the system interface.

The Ability Furnace.

A possibility emerged.

Quantum Scaling and Atomic Interference.

S-Rank.

Combined with—

All-Dimensional Magic Affinity and Spatial Analysis.

SS-Rank.

At first glance, they appeared unrelated.

But they shared one fundamental principle.

Space.

Quantum Scaling altered how matter interacted with spatial dimensions.

Magic Affinity analyzed dimensional structures, spatial folding, and teleportation principles.

One affected the microscopic framework of space.

The other affected the macroscopic framework.

If fused...

What would emerge?

Lynn didn't rush.

Ability fusion was never something to approach carelessly.

He needed data.

Calculations.

Models.

Simulations.

But the direction was clear.

Microscopic scales.

Quantum structures.

Spatial laws.

That would be the next stage of evolution.

Lynn rose from his chair.

He picked up the vial.

The pale-blue liquid shimmered beneath the laboratory lights.

Then he activated his new ability.

Quantum Scaling.

No sound.

No light.

No dramatic energy surge.

The change occurred silently.

Yet he could feel it.

The trillions of atoms comprising his body began changing their relationship to space itself.

Not compression.

Not density increase.

Something more fundamental.

Distance was being redefined.

His body shrank.

1.83 meters.

1.5 meters.

1.2 meters.

80 centimeters.

50 centimeters.

20 centimeters.

10 centimeters.

Soon he stood atop the workstation like a tiny figurine.

The laboratory had become gigantic.

The Pym Particle vial resembled a glass tower.

The surrounding equipment looked like skyscrapers.

Yet the power inside his body remained unchanged.

Lynn lifted one foot.

Then gently stepped onto the workstation surface.

A sharp metallic sound echoed.

A distinct footprint appeared.

Pressed directly into the reinforced metal.

The Immortal Divine Body's strength had not diminished in the slightest.

The force density was terrifying.

Lynn returned to normal size.

The world rapidly resumed its usual proportions.

He examined the tiny footprint.

Then stepped beside it again.

This time he deliberately controlled the force output.

The second indentation was only half a millimeter deeper.

No structural damage.

No excessive deformation.

Perfect control.

"The precision isn't bad."

He nodded slightly.

The ability was easier to control than expected.

More importantly—

The retained-attributes effect meant he had acquired an entirely new combat dimension.

Microscopic infiltration.

Subatomic penetration.

Against such an ability, conventional defenses became meaningless.

No armor.

No fortress.

No energy barrier designed for macroscopic threats could reliably stop something operating at a quantum scale.

Lynn carefully returned the Pym Particles to cold storage.

Locked the container.

Closed the laboratory.

Then returned upstairs.

A few minutes later, a fresh pot of tea was brewing in the clinic.
