Chapter 92 92 The Hospital That Fell From the Sky
The battlefield above Manhattan had descended into complete chaos.
The Avengers.
The Justice League.
Special forces.
Police departments.
Every available combat force on Earth had entered the war.
And as the battle intensified—
The number of wounded heroes increased rapidly.
To others—
This was catastrophe.
To Lynn—
It was the greatest harvest opportunity imaginable.
Every severely injured superhero brought to his operating table represented another chance to obtain extraordinary abilities.
A battlefield overflowing with living samples.
A feast prepared by war itself.
But Lynn remained completely calm.
The "doctor" identity would handle treatment, rescue operations, and overt reputation accumulation.
Meanwhile—
The second hidden identity would perform actions requiring overwhelming violence and destructive force directly on the battlefield.
Two separate lines.
Two simultaneous harvests.
Neither interfering with the other.
The perfect strategy.
"Tony…"
Lynn adjusted the cuff of his white coat calmly.
"Your transport aircraft had better arrive quickly."
He opened the underground storage compartment afterward and began checking his priceless medical equipment personally.
Outside—
Another deafening explosion shook the city.
The clinic walls trembled violently.
Lynn didn't even raise his eyes.
…
Fifteen minutes later.
The Fifth Avenue intersection had transformed completely into a war zone.
The asphalt streets were torn apart by bombardment craters.
Smoke and flames rose continuously.
Collapsed buildings blocked evacuation routes entirely.
Scattered Chitauri infantry units searched the ruins methodically.
Energy rifles fired relentlessly toward any moving target.
Three blocks away—
Inside the shattered remains of a bank building—
Captain America organized the final defensive line together with surviving police officers and trapped civilians.
"Everyone move downstairs!"
Steve Rogers' voice sounded hoarse yet unwavering.
"Women and children first!"
At that moment—
Tony Stark's communication entered through Steve's earpiece.
"Cap."
Tony's voice sounded furious.
"Fury approved a completely insane request."
"He wants me to deploy a battlefield medical pod onto Fifth Intersection."
Steve frowned immediately.
"That area's under the heaviest Chitauri fire in Manhattan."
"I KNOW."
Tony nearly shouted.
"That lunatic doctor specifically demanded that location."
"He said battlefield consultation fees increase ten times over…"
A brief pause.
"I genuinely want to remove his head and use it as a basketball."
"What doctor?"
"You'll see."
"Anyway…"
Tony's voice sharpened again.
"Hold the northern street."
"My transport arrives in three minutes."
Communication ended immediately afterward.
Three minutes later—
The roar of engines shook the battlefield sky.
A massive Stark Industries heavy transport aircraft tore across Manhattan airspace trailing thick smoke.
Its stealth coating had already been shredded apart by multiple Chitauri laser impacts.
Silver titanium alloy framework remained exposed beneath the damaged hull.
Yet the aircraft continued forcing its way toward the designated coordinates.
Behind it—
Two Chitauri flyers pursued relentlessly.
Laser fire hammered continuously against the transport's weakening defense shields.
Inside the remote-control channel—
Tony roared:
"JARVIS!"
"DROP THE PAYLOAD!"
Boom—!!!
The aircraft's cargo hatch opened instantly.
A gigantic silver-white cruciform medical pod descended from five hundred meters above the battlefield like a falling meteor.
Four deceleration thrusters burned violently beneath it.
Flames illuminated the surrounding smoke-filled sky.
Then—
Impact.
BOOM—!!!
The entire Fifth Avenue intersection exploded outward beneath the landing force.
A massive crater over twenty meters wide formed instantly.
Shockwaves blasted surrounding rubble away violently.
Several nearby Chitauri soldiers were hurled directly into ruined walls.
Dust clouds swallowed the entire street.
Then—
As the smoke settled slowly—
The medical pod emerged standing firmly in the crater center.
Four reinforced landing pillars pierced deeply into the asphalt.
The silver superalloy exterior reflected cold metallic light beneath the burning sky.
Prominently displayed across the outer shell:
Stark Industries.
Hiss—!!!
The medical pod hatch opened gradually.
Then Lynn stepped outside.
White coat spotless.
Gold-rimmed glasses perfectly aligned.
And in his hand—
A fresh Americano from the pod's internal coffee system.
He calmly surveyed the battlefield surroundings.
Cratered streets.
Burning wreckage.
Alien corpses.
Explosions.
"Hm."
"Acceptable location."
Lynn took another sip of coffee.
At that exact moment—
Two Chitauri flying units burst from a nearby intersection.
The grey-skinned soldiers immediately locked onto the unarmed human standing openly in the crater.
Without hesitation—
They opened fire.
Whoosh—!!!
Whoosh—!!!
Two high-energy laser beams crossed directly toward Lynn's head.
Three hundred meters away—
Inside the ruined bank building—
Captain America witnessed the scene through shattered glass.
"No!"
Steve instinctively raised his vibranium shield.
Preparing to throw it.
But the distance was too great.
Too late.
However—
Lynn moved.
Or more accurately—
He barely moved.
The motion was so minimal it almost resembled a slight sway of posture.
The two laser beams missed completely.
One passed less than three centimeters beside his ear.
The other skimmed beneath his ribs.
Both struck the medical pod behind him instead.
Sparks erupted from the alloy armor plating.
Meanwhile—
Not a single drop of coffee spilled.
The Chitauri pilots screeched furiously.
Then launched a second barrage.
Six laser beams formed a deadly overlapping net of fire.
Lynn calmly walked forward through the bombardment.
One slight lean avoided a beam overhead.
A shoulder rotation bypassed two attacks from the left.
A simple footstep slipped perfectly through intersecting fire on the right.
His pace never changed.
Like someone strolling leisurely through a park.
Then—
A third Chitauri aircraft descended directly above him.
This attack angle was nearly perfect.
The laser beam fired downward almost directly into Lynn's forehead.
For the first time—
Lynn stopped dodging entirely.
Boom—!!!
The high-energy laser struck him squarely between the brows.
Clang.
A crisp metallic impact echoed across the battlefield.
Tiny sparks scattered briefly from Lynn's forehead.
Then—
Nothing.
No wound.
No burn mark.
No damaged skin whatsoever.
Lynn casually brushed nonexistent dust from his forehead with mild annoyance.
Then turned around calmly and walked back toward the medical pod.
He pressed a button along the external hull.
An amplified loudspeaker system extended automatically from the roof.
Lynn spoke directly into the microphone.
His tone sounded no different from a receptionist calling patient numbers inside a clinic.
"Miracle Battlefield Hospital officially open."
"Critically wounded patients prioritized."
"Those close to death may skip the queue."
Three hundred meters away—
Captain America remained frozen mid-throw with his shield still raised.
His expression had become completely blank.
Because moments earlier—
He had just witnessed a doctor in a white coat casually walking through concentrated alien laser fire.
And taking a direct shot to the forehead…
Without injury.
Beside him—
A young police officer stared at the distant medical pod in horror.
His voice trembled uncontrollably.
"Captain…"
"That guy…"
"…he IS on our side, right?"
