Naruto: Lost to Hinata on Purpose, and Now Everything's a Mess

Chapter 275 : Nine Tails Chakra Is Sealed On Sora's Body

After saying a few words, Riku glanced outside at Sora, who had been smashed into the wall.

"Who is this guy?"

Hearing Riku's words, Tsunade remembered that Sora had been about to attack just moments ago. In a flash, she appeared in front of him and threw a punch.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Apologize quickly, Sora!"

Just as Tsunade's fist was about to slam into his face, Sora blurted out, "I'm talking about the Bodhisattva!"

He tried to smooth things over from calling her "old lady Tsunade" earlier. If he didn't want to die, he clearly knew what he had to say.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Tsunade redirected her punch to the side.

Boom!

The wall splintered under the force of her blow, wood exploding in every direction.

Sora felt a chill run down his spine. This old woman's seriously violent...

Tsunade's furious expression vanished. "Bodhisattva?"

Sora nodded quickly. "Y-Yeah, exactly!"

Her expression flipped into a pleasant smile as she stood up and dragged him inside cheerfully. "This kid really knows how to talk."

Naruto and Yamato were both speechless. But they were used to Tsunade's temper. Meanwhile, Sakura kept staring at Riku.

I wonder if he ran into any danger on his mission… The corner of his clothes looks torn.

Everyone else had been focused on Tsunade's punch, but Sakura's eyes were on Riku the entire time. Riku noticed but didn't react.

Tsunade brought Sora over to the desk, sat down, and looked at him seriously.

"Kid, I heard that you have the Nine Tails' chakra sealed inside you?"

Sora froze. "How… How do you know that?"

Tsunade frowned. "Never mind how I know. The corpses of the Twelve Guardian Ninja were stolen from the Temple of Fire. It may be related to the power sealed in you. You'll stay in Konoha for now. We need to conduct a thorough investigation."

Sora opened his mouth to argue, but Tsunade shot him a glare. Under her pressure, he slumped and muttered, "Fine, I'll stay..."

He wasn't stupid. He knew Tsunade could crush him in a heartbeat.

But his attention drifted to Riku, who stood quietly by the window. Sora found it odd—when they were first brought into the Hokage's office, he could've sworn Riku wasn't there.

Tsunade turned to Naruto. "You'll be responsible for watching over Sora. Keep an eye on him."

Naruto nodded. "Got it, Granny Tsunade."

After Naruto left with Sora, only Riku and Tsunade remained in the Hokage's office.

Tsunade looked at him closely. "You seem like you encountered something serious on this mission."

Riku stood at the window and smiled. "It wasn't anything I couldn't handle. But it did involve the Dragon Vein in the Land of Wind."

Tsunade's eyes widened in shock. "You traveled back decades?!"

Riku nodded. He knew she'd be skeptical. No one in the ninja world had ever done something like that.

Tsunade wanted to know what exactly had happened.

Riku continued, "Mukade went back decades into the past and took control of the ancient Roran Kingdom before its destruction. He used the Dragon Vein to create a massive army of war puppets. One of them even had destructive power rivaling the Nine Tails."

"Luckily, I managed to kill him."

"I also ran into the Fourth Hokage's team, who happened to be on a mission in Loulan at the time. We fought together."

Tsunade paused. She vaguely remembered that Minato Namikaze had once taken a mission to ancient Loulan. There had been a catastrophic battle that nearly wiped out the entire city.

Her eyes widened as she looked at Riku. "That was you?"

Riku nodded. "Yeah, it was me."

Tsunade was still in disbelief. "If time travel is possible… then won't others try to go back and alter history using the Dragon Vein?"

Riku had already considered that. He waved a hand dismissively. "No. I sealed the Dragon Vein myself. Even though the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God seal can still reach it, my seal is stronger. It can't be opened now."

Tsunade let out a relieved sigh.

Riku looked at her and grinned. "I hadn't thought much about it before, but after fighting the Fourth Hokage, I realized—my speed is actually faster than his."

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Isn't it normal for you to be stronger than him? Even my grandfather wouldn't be a match for you now."

"But why doesn't the Fourth Hokage remember you?"

"Because I erased the memories of everyone who saw me. If they knew a ninja like me would appear in Konoha's future, it could change everything. I might not even be born."

Tsunade nodded solemnly. Riku was right. If word had gotten out that a powerful shinobi like him would be born decades later, someone might've tried to assassinate his parents. After all, Riku hadn't made a name for himself yet back then.

Riku sighed. "I was in such a hurry when I left. I didn't get a chance to see you in your thirties. If I'd tried to court you back then, I wonder what would've happened."

Tsunade chuckled wryly. "Then I probably wouldn't have liked you."

She felt that if Riku had made a move more than ten years earlier, he wouldn't have stood a chance.

Riku laughed. "Then I guess my timing's not so bad after all."

Tsunade gave him a playful glare, but then her expression grew serious again.

"What happened at the Temple of Fire is strange. It feels like someone is trying to use the corpses of the Twelve Guardian Ninja… and it seems like Konoha is their target."

"I could sense the Nine Tails' chakra in Sora too. It's definitely sealed inside him."

That wasn't so surprising. After all, Kinkaku and Ginkaku had accessed Tailed Beast Mode just by consuming the flesh of the Nine Tails.

Riku nodded. "Yeah, the Nine Tails' chakra is sealed in him—but it's not Kurama himself. It's chakra that leaked from the Nine Tails and was collected by someone."

Even when Tailed Beast chakra is separated, it retains a fragment of its consciousness. But over time, most of it dissipates into the atmosphere and becomes natural energy. It rarely lasts long.

Storing the Nine Tails' chakra was incredibly difficult.

In Sora's case, that chakra had probably been nurtured for years before being sealed inside him as a child.

Tsunade agreed. Both she and Riku were masters of Medical Ninjutsu, and they understood the intricacies of such techniques.

The method did exist in the shinobi world, but it was still far from perfected. The failure rate was high.
