Oops! My Beast Mates Can Hear My Inner Voice

Chapter 140 - 137: Those Who Don’t Belong to This World Should Die

Su Mo was abducted in her sleep.

The previous night had been so exhausting that she was completely unaware when someone drew near.

Now, her eyes were blindfolded, and her hands were bound.

Worst of all, they had even gagged her.

’You bastard! Wrecking my sleep like this... This is something no decent person would ever do!’

After what felt like an eternity, she was thrown heavily to the ground, still dazed.

A sudden jolt of pain made Su Mo frown. Before she could fully come to her senses, her chin was seized in a vicious grip.

A sinister voice rang out from above. "Even now, you still have the nerve to sleep? Should I call you numb, or just unafraid of death?!"

Su Mo frowned and looked at the person before her, her gaze locking with a pair of familiar eyes.

Fighting back the searing pain in her jaw, she sneered, "I knew it. No one else would stoop to such shameless tactics. Lord Jin Tong, are you that bored? If you are, go keep Jiang Wu company. You..."

The hand on her chin tightened, and Su Mo’s brow furrowed in pain.

An instant later, the hand moved to her neck. The long fingers closed around it, poised as if the slightest pressure could easily snuff out her life.

The man’s chilling voice rang out. "Piss me off again, and I won’t hesitate to kill you!"

Su Mo glared at him, choking out, "You... L-let go!"

He snorted and violently threw her aside.

Caught off guard, she slammed into the stone wall. It took her a moment to recover before she looked back at him.

"Did you go to all this trouble to capture me just to threaten me?"

Su Mo met his eyes, which were as deep and cold as the Cold Pond, and said icily, "What do you gain from getting tangled up with a defenseless woman like me? How exactly did I offend you, Lord Jin Tong? Just tell me, and I’ll change my ways, isn’t that enough?!"

Jin Tong watched her with an inscrutable gaze and sneered, "Such a silver tongue! You truly have some nerve."

Su Mo’s eyes widened. "What kind of hero bullies an unarmed woman like me!"

"Untie me! We can sit down and talk this over calmly!"

His venomous gaze swept across her face. "You, unarmed? You, innocent? Then who was it that poisoned me? And who was it that manipulated the situation with the Tiger Clan behind the scenes and stood against me?!"

Su Mo’s eyelashes fluttered as she put on an innocent expression. "That was to cure your poison! Every remedy has a bit of poison in it, you know! As for what happened with the Tiger Clan, I have no idea..."

"Enough of your twisted logic!"

The man rose to his feet. He looked down at her, the corners of his lips twisting into a cruel smile.

"Take her to a room. Don’t untie her! No one is to speak to her, or they’ll have their tongue cut out!"

A figure emerged from the shadows, hoisted Su Mo to her feet, and began to drag her away...

Su Mo struggled, refusing to cooperate. "Hey! If you’re going to lock me up, fine, but at least untie me first! I’m hungry, I need to eat!"

"Starve!"

Su Mo was roughly thrown into a stuffy, windowless room. No one had spoken a word to her the entire way; they were as silent as mutes.

Clearly, after her last escape, Jin Tong had become far more guarded against her.

The windows were sealed shut, making it impossible to see outside.

Su Mo paced around the room once before sitting on the bed and calling for Little Nine.

"Where the hell have you been? I’ve been taken prisoner!"

Little Nine’s voice crackled in, intermittent and faint. "Ah... I just lost the connection... Don’t panic, Host. You’re not in any immediate danger~"

"Why is it you always lose connection whenever we’re around Jin Tong?"

Little Nine’s voice was puzzled. "I don’t know~"

Su Mo sighed. "It’s a real shame I didn’t manage to kill him with poison last time. This time, I have to finish the job, no matter what!"

Little Nine’s voice brightened. "Didn’t you want him to be a test subject for your new poison? Go on, do it!"

"You think I don’t want to? My hands are tied, literally!"

Su Mo lay on the bed, sighing. "Why is he wasting his time tormenting a cannon fodder like me instead of helping Jiang Wu conquer her empire? And Jiang Wu, if she wants to unite the entire Beast World, shouldn’t she get her Beast Husbands in line first?"

Little Nine’s voice was tinged with thought. "But it seems he and Jiang Wu don’t have a contract. He’s not one of her Beast Husbands."

"Are you sure?!" Su Mo frowned. "But they attacked the Tiger Clan together."

Little Nine mused, "Maybe they’re just partners?"

"That doesn’t make sense. A female lead like her wouldn’t pass up such a powerful Beastman, would she? That’s not her style!" Su Mo sighed, still lying on the bed. "I need to get some food."

There was food in her System Space, but she was under Jin Tong’s watch now. It was best not to make any rash moves.

Suddenly, she sat up, marched to the door, and kicked it hard. "Hey, out there! Tell your master to get me some food! If I starve to death, this whole elaborate scheme of his will be for nothing!"

With that, Su Mo kicked the door again, hard!

Outside, there was only dead silence, as if no one was there.

But through the crack under the door, she could see a young Beastman guard standing outside, as motionless and expressionless as a statue.

Su Mo returned to the bed and sat down.

Little Nine sighed. "Host, I’m afraid it will be very difficult to escape this time..."

Su Mo nodded.

’I can tell. The people Jin Tong has assigned to guard me are impossible to talk to, each one like a big block of ice. There will be no loopholes to exploit.’

「Meanwhile, in Jin Tong’s study.」

Jiang Wu, dressed in red, sat in the seat of honor. She toyed with a red pill in her hand, her voice drawling, "Now that you’ve caught her, why not just get it over with and kill her?!"

Despite a face that could topple nations, her words were utterly venomous.

Jin Tong narrowed his eyes. "She and I still have scores to settle."

Jiang Wu let out a light laugh. "What scores? Isn’t it just about that little drug she gave you last time? Wouldn’t it be better to just kill her and be done with it? Or, how about you let me have some fun with her? I can kill her for you!"

Jin Tong’s abyssal eyes fixed on her. "She is my captive. She will die when I want her to die. As long as I wish for her to live, she will not die!"

A cold glint flashed in Jiang Wu’s eyes. She rose gracefully from her seat and glided over to Jin Tong.

"In the battle at the Tiger Clan, she cost me tens of millions of soldiers, and your most capable subordinate died at her hand. What are you still hesitating for?!" She raised the pill in her hand, her voice a cold threat. "Or do you no longer want this medicine?!"

Jin Tong gave the pill a cold glance. "The medicine belongs to the City Lord. Give it if you wish. If not, so be it."

An icy glint flashed in Jiang Wu’s eyes. Her fingertips, holding the pill, tightened slightly. ’This Jin Tong is getting more and more reckless,’ she thought.

Her red lips curled into a sneer. Then, she casually placed the red pill on the corner of the desk.

With a flutter of her red robes, she was gone from the study.

’For now, I can’t afford to have a complete falling out with Jin Tong.’

When Jiang Wu emerged from Jin Tong’s room, her Cat Beastman husband was there to greet her.

The man was androgynously handsome, with a seductive trace of red at the corners of his eyes, as bewitching as blood. But with every shift of his gaze, a perverse and sinister darkness was revealed.

He took Jiang Wu’s hand and stroked it gently.

In a soft, effeminate voice, he asked, "Was Jin Tong unwilling to hand her over to you, wife? Surely he isn’t planning to use that woman to cure his poison and escape your control, is he?"

A sneer flashed across Jiang Wu’s cold, beautiful face. "In his dreams!"

’Even if Su Mo doesn’t die now, she will die soon enough. Someone who doesn’t belong in this world has no right to live!’

’As for Jin Tong, it’s best if he remains useful to me. If not, I have more than enough ways to deal with him!’

Jiang Wu frowned. "Have the others caught up yet?"

The Cat Beastman, Ai Ci, shook his head. "Not yet, but it should be soon. With how meticulously they’re searching, Jin Tong won’t be able to stay hidden here for long."

The corners of Jiang Wu’s lips curved into a sinister smile. "Perfect. I can just sit back and reap the rewards."

’Since those fools are so determined to die with Su Mo, then I’ll be happy to oblige them!’
