Bai Meiyue was speechless. From the looks of it, not only was Xu Jinye not scared of causing trouble for Yang Wei, but she was also looking forward to it. She pursed her lips and said, "I don’t know what you are planning, but don’t go too far. The people from the Bai family might not have enough power to deal with you right now, but like you just told me. Yang Wei is still useful to the Bai family; they will certainly protect her."
Yang Wei might be a fool, but she was a useful fool. Old Madam Bai would never allow her to be discredited. What was more, Bai Wenxuan was still her grandson. How could she allow someone like Xu Jinye to be close to him? If Xu Jinye tried to get too close to Bai Wenxuan, there was a good chance that the old lady might cause trouble for Xu Jinye and the safe base. This was something that Bai Meiyue was very much aware of.
"Humph, do you think I will be scared of an old woman? I do admit that she is really sly with her skills and schemes but there is no way she can deal with me of all people." Xu Jinye was not scared. "And instead of worrying about me, you should think of how to deal with Yang Wei. That woman left the safe base, incited half of the teams, and now she is returning without worrying about the consequences. Does she think that this place is her own house where she can enter and leave as she wants?"
"You don’t have to worry about it."
Bai Meiyue’s eyes flashed. She did not have any intention of letting Xu Jinye return without bleeding. That woman was too confident when she left the safe base; who allowed her to return without her permission? Did she think that with the Bai family’s backing she could do whatever she wanted? If that was the case, then she was up for a rude awakening.
When those people left, she had asked Xiao Wu to write down their names and make sure that they would never be able to return to the safe base. What was more, Bai Meiyue knew that since Yang Wei was returning, she must be accompanied by those who abandoned the safe base in an attempt to climb higher. Bai Meiyue was not a fool who would let these people return. It was hard enough for her to clean these rotten roots. Why would she be foolish enough to bring them back?
She narrowed her eyes and called Xiao Wu at once.
"Are you planning to stop Yang Wei?" Xu Jinye questioned with her eyebrows raised.
"I did not ask that woman to leave; since she has left, then she must stick to her decision. There is no place for her in my safe base." Bai Meiyue knew that Xu Jinye wanted some excitement in her mundane life, but she was not willing to cause a stir in her safe base for no reason. Yang Wei was not a simple person, and her relationship with the Bai family was rather complicated.
Since that was the case, it was better to keep her distance from Yang Wei.
Xu Jinye shrugged. She did not say anything to Bai Meiyue, but she also did not stay at the greenhouse and left with a flick of her fingers. Bai Meiyue watched her go; she knew in her heart that Xu Jinye was not satisfied, but there was nothing she could do.
Xu Jinye was someone who always pursued excitement. She, on the other hand, had had enough excitement in her past life; now she wanted nothing more than to live in peace. Bai Meiyue sighed. She picked up a tea sachet and started boiling water in the pot that was sitting on the tea table. She was going to deal with these troublesome things later on.
"Boss!"
Just as Bai Meiyue finished preparing the tea, Xiao Wu walked over. He was grinning from ear to ear as he looked at Bai Meiyue, who was just done pouring herself a cup of tea. "Boss, why did you call me? Did something happen?"
"Yes," Bai Meiyue replied. She picked up the teacup and looked at Xiao Wu with a hint of tiredness in her eyes. "Go and tell Bai Wenxuan that I will not allow Yang Wei to return to the safe base. That woman caused me a lot of trouble when she left; how can I allow her to return? Isn’t it slapping my face? Does the Bai family think that they can do whatever they want? Remind him that the popularity and power of the Bai family are gone. It has faded with time. If he dares to cause trouble for me, then I will fight with him and his family till the end. Don’t think that I cannot accompany them just because I am pregnant. I can still destroy a safe base if I want."
Bai Meiyue’s eyes flashed with murderous intent when she said those words. She already had quite a dissatisfaction with Old Madam Bai over what she did to her mother; now that woman was thinking of stepping on her head as if nothing was wrong. How could it be possible?
When Xiao Wu heard that Yang Wei wanted to return to their safe base, the smile on his lips vanished. "How can that woman be so shameless? She was the one who made a fuss and even stated that she would never return to the safe base. How can she return just because she wants to? Don’t worry. I will relay this matter to Master Bai. If he wants that woman to return, then he can leave as well!"
Bai Meiyue nodded. This was what she wanted as well. Bai Wenxuan was more trouble than he was worth. With the schemes of Old Madam Bai, she couldn’t let that man stay. In her heart, Bai Meiyue had a feeling that Yang Wei’s return was not as simple as she thought.
