Chapter 884: Stalking
"Have you lost your mind?" snapped Dacheng. He had no idea why Lu Yin suddenly decided to stop retreating and come to a stop in front of the safe base. "Why did you suddenly stop retreating? Do you even know what Bai Meiyue would do if she found out that we have stopped not far from her safe base?"
Dacheng looked at Lu Yin, who was beside him and could not understand what the woman was even thinking. The more he stayed with Lu Yin, the more he realised that the woman was even more ruthless than he was. Bai Meiyue had clearly stated that if they did not leave, she would wipe them off the face of the earth. He knew just how ruthless that woman could be when she wanted to be. He dared not fight with her directly, and yet Lu Yin refused to leave!
"What are you waiting for here?" Dacheng asked when he saw that Lu Yin was refusing to leave.
Lu Yin continued to look forward. She turned to look at Dacheng and said to him, "Don’t you think that there is something wrong?"
"What does it matter if there is something wrong with the safe base?" Dacheng could not understand her actions. He simply pointed to the large base in front of him and stated, "Just leave. I told you that there is no point in messing around with Bai Meiyue. She is not someone you can deal with. Damn it, why won’t you listen to me? Why are you provoking this evil? Wait for your chance before you fight with Bai Meiyue."
"I know that opportunities will always come, but don’t you think that there is something wrong with the safe base and Bai Meiyue today? If Bai Meiyue was really as angry as you think, she would have come by now. But she hasn’t. This is something that has never happened. Isn’t that right!?!" Lu Yin was unwilling to leave, and after hearing that the ability user had lost the king snake, her unwillingness grew even stronger. She wanted to gain the king snake back.
She then turned to look at Dacheng and said to him, "We gained more than three thousand ability users. Surely, we can deal with those few ability users that Bai Meiyue has?" She had a feeling that today Bai Meiyue was different from usual. She was always the first to charge whenever there was a battle, but today she remained indifferent, which proved that there was something wrong with her.
"Have you lost your mind?" Dacheng looked at the woman as if she had gone crazy. "So what if there are not as many ability users as our team? You are forgetting one major thing. The ability users under Bai Meiyue are all A- or S-grade ability users. While the strongest ability user under our leadership is a B-grade. Do you think that we can deal with a bunch of A- and S-grade ability users? They are like top-tier!"
Lu Yin knew that the man was unconvinced. So she earnestly reminded him, "Look at the defences she has set up. Look at the immense resources and power that her safe base holds. So many of the commoners are dying to work for her, and the ability users are rushing to join her. Isn’t it because she has medical resources that no one, not even the people of the safe base in the capital, has? If we take over, then we will be the ones ruling this safe base. Do you even understand how safe and powerful we will be then?"
Dacheng fell silent, but his heart started to thud with emotion. Indeed. He had been working hard to develop but even after kicking his feet as hard as he could, this was as far as he could reach. He had worked his arse off to plunder and acquire things that he owed at the moment. But he was still far away from getting to where Bai Meiyue was at the moment. But what if he annexed the safe base that she had built? Of course, he did not think that it would be as simple as that, but as Lu Yin said, the safe base looked quite weirdly quiet today.
What if this was the opportunity that they were waiting for?
The ability user behind them curled his lips. It had taken a lot of time for him to convince Lu Yin. He swore that the snake king that he had raised was better than the ability users that she had raised under her wing. He promised her that as long as he could get his hands on the snake king and the other two snakes, he could easily deal with everything that came his way, and even the three thousand ability users would be of no match for him.
Dacheng, however, seemed a little too resistant, and the ability user was not happy with it. He had raised those snakes with his blood; how could he let them go? He wanted to drag the two of them with him and start the war with Bai Meiyue. Anyway, there were so many of them; as long as they worked hard and gave their all, he did not believe that he would not be able to deal with Bai Meiyue. He believed that as long as the entire team worked hard, they would be able to kill Bai Meiyue and take the safe base under them.
Once the resources and the supplies were under his control, did they even need to fear someone like Bai Meiyue? Three thousand people—they could easily deal with the few hundred ability users in Bai Meiyue’s safe base.
All they needed was to wait for the night and then take the safe base down in one big swoop!
