Chapter 135: Preparations
Mrs. Fu was delighted to hear they could help mail her things.
She quickly brought out everything she had sorted out the previous night and started packing.
She even packed some other things she hadn’t originally planned on taking.
In a flurry of activity, the entire morning flew by.
Mrs. Qin couldn’t help much with the packing, but she looked after the two children and helped with the cooking.
They had lunch at the Fu family’s home.
"Mom, you’re an amazing cook."
Fu Mingxue was truly impressed.
Mrs. Fu nodded in agreement. "You truly have a gift for cooking. This fish is much better than how I make it."
Seeing the mother and daughter enjoy her cooking made Mrs. Qin very happy.
"In that case, you all should come to our place for dinner tonight. Father insisted that you must come. We can treat it as a farewell dinner for you."
Hearing this, Mrs. Fu instinctively looked over at her daughter.
Fu Mingxue nodded. "Alright. We’ll be there."
Mrs. Qin was delighted.
Right after lunch, Qin Wenze arrived.
"Sister-in-law, are these all the packages?"
Fu Mingxue nodded. "That’s everything. Thank you, Brother."
"Of course. It’s the least I can do."
Qin Wenze loaded the five extra-large packages from the courtyard into his car.
He didn’t need Fu Mingxue to go with him.
He drove off right away.
With those items mailed, Fu Mingxue and her family wouldn’t have much to carry.
Just some clothes and a can of milk powder for the children.
It was a manageable amount, anyway.
Later that afternoon, Fu Mingxue made a trip to the research institute.
Mr. Ji wasn’t surprised to see her.
"Mr. Ji, there are four of us moving—my mother, my two children, and myself. About the housing over there—"
"You don’t need to worry about the housing. I took into account that your family would be living together, so I contacted Qin Wenhao’s unit. They’ve already arranged everything. It’s the large courtyard house Qin Wenhao was previously staying in. When you arrive, the house will be assigned directly to you."
"As for the train tickets, you don’t need to worry either. We already bought an extra one, which is just right for you two adults."
Mr. Ji took the train tickets from his pocket. "They’re for the sleeper car. Here, you take them. Xiao Yang will drive over tomorrow to take you all straight to the train station."
Xiao Yang was the young man who had driven Fu Mingxue the day before.
Fu Mingxue took the train tickets. "Aren’t you coming with us, Mr. Ji?"
"I was originally supposed to leave with you tomorrow, but something came up at the last minute. I have to go a day later, so I can’t travel with you."
"But don’t worry. Once you arrive, you can just go and report in. I’ve already made all the arrangements. Someone will be there to pick you up when you get off the train."
Fu Mingxue thanked him, "Thank you, Mr. Ji."
Mr. Ji said with a smile, "Don’t be so formal. You still have things to sort out at home, so you should hurry back."
Fu Mingxue nodded. "Alright. Goodbye, Mr. Ji!"
She had ridden a bicycle there.
The Qin family had brought the bicycle over for her to make getting around more convenient.
She would return it that evening.
After all, the bike would just rust if it was left unridden for a long time.
Back at home, there was basically nothing left to sort out.
At four-thirty, Qin Wenze came to pick them up in person.
"Auntie, Sister-in-law, Father sent me to pick you up. Are you ready to go?"
Fu Mingxue replied immediately, "Yes, we are."
Then she and her mother each carried a child into the car.
When the car arrived at the Qin family’s home, Mrs. Qin was already waiting for them at the door—
