Chapter 131: The Only One Left Out
Seeing that her mom was busy, Fu Mingxue went to find the two little ones.
"Sweeties, Mommy’s home. Come on, say ’Mommy.’"

The two toddlers called out in unison, their voices sweet and childish. Fu Mingxue was pleasantly surprised.
"Oh my goodness, my darlings! What did you just say? Come on, say ’Mommy’ for me one more time."

The two children called out again, their voices sweet and childish.
Fu Mingxue was so thrilled she kissed each of them on their little cheeks.
"Wow, that’s amazing! You actually said Mommy."
She was truly shocked and surprised.
She hadn’t really held out much hope; she was just teasing them as she usually did.
She never imagined the two little guys would actually say it.
She was absolutely overjoyed.
"Mom! Mom! Hao Hao and Keke called me Mommy!"
Mrs. Fu, who was just passing by, was exasperated. "They can already call me Grandma. Isn’t it perfectly normal for them to call you Mommy? You’re making a fuss over nothing."
Fu Mingxue: ...?
Mrs. Fu couldn’t stand seeing her stand there looking so silly.
"Aren’t you going to pack? Let the kids play by themselves. You go get packed. We have a lot to do tomorrow. For example, you need to go tell your in-laws that we’re leaving."
Fu Mingxue immediately replied, "I’ll go over after dinner. I’ll pack tomorrow."
Mrs. Fu thought for a moment. That would work, too.
Her in-laws would probably be home in the evening.
"Alright."
With that, she left Fu Mingxue to it.
She had to make dinner first, and then she could pack in the evening. There was so much to do!
There were two chickens in the yard. One she had bought herself the day before yesterday, and the other had been a gift from her in-laws.
Mrs. Fu decided to butcher one for her daughter’s dinner.
Her daughter had been through a lot lately; she needed a proper, nourishing meal.

At dinner, Fu Mingxue showered her mother with praise again. "Mom, your cooking is the best. I really can’t live without you—"
Mrs. Fu rolled her eyes at her. "Can’t even a mouthful of food shut you up? Hurry up and eat. Go to the Qin family’s place when you’re done, before it gets too late."
Fu Mingxue didn’t mind whether it was late or not, but she figured her mom would worry.
So, she began to eat faster.
After she finished eating, she headed to the Qin family’s home.
The Qin family tended to eat dinner a little later.
They were all surprised when they saw Fu Mingxue arrive.
Mrs. Qin immediately put down her chopsticks and stood up. "Mingxue, you’re back! We’re eating right now. Come, sit down and have some food—"
Fu Mingxue hadn’t expected to arrive right at dinnertime.
Seeing her mother-in-law about to pull her into a seat, she quickly stopped her. "Mom, I just ate before I came over. You go ahead and eat. I’ll just sit in the living room."
Mrs. Qin urged, "Just have a little more!"
"Really, Mom, I can’t. You all eat first; I’ll go watch some TV." The food at her own home had been so good that night that she was already stuffed.
She couldn’t manage another bite.
Seeing this, Mrs. Qin didn’t insist. "Alright, then. You go watch some TV."
Fu Mingxue quickly went back to the living room and turned on the TV—though in reality, there was nothing good on. There were only a handful of channels.
Twenty minutes later, the Qin family finished their dinner.
They all returned to the living room.
Fu Mingxue greeted them one by one, "Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Big Brother—"
As for Lan Qingman—she skipped her entirely.
She didn’t give her the slightest bit of courtesy.
This made Lan Qingman, who was waiting to be addressed as ’Sister-in-law,’ absolutely livid. ’What did Fu Mingxue mean by this?’
’She greeted everyone in the family except for me?’
’I’m the eldest sister-in-law! In ancient times, the wife of the eldest brother was to be respected like a mother.’
"How has work been?" Mr. Qin was the first to ask.
