Chapter 106: Forget It
Fu Mingxue went downstairs.
The Qin Family were all there.
No, that wasn’t right. Two people were missing: Qin Wenhao and—that sister-in-law.
"Good morning, Grandpa, Grandma, Father, Mother!"
’They were all the big spenders who gave me money yesterday.’
"Good, good! Hurry and sit down for breakfast." Old Madam Qin was very pleased with her new granddaughter-in-law.
This granddaughter-in-law of hers was very good-looking.
And she, an old woman, had always had a soft spot for pretty, pleasant-looking girls.
Fu Mingxue obligingly sat down.
At that moment, she also noticed the two children at the dining table.
The older one was a seven-year-old boy whose eyes and brows strongly resembled his father’s.
The younger one was a five-year-old girl who was timidly sneaking glances at her.
Fu Mingxue gave the little girl a gentle smile.
The little girl quickly lowered her head.
"Let’s eat."
After Mr. Qin spoke and picked up his chopsticks, everyone else followed suit.
Mrs. Qin spoke to Fu Mingxue. "Mingxue, help yourself to whatever you like. Don’t be formal; treat this as your own home."
"I will, Mom. You don’t need to worry about me." Fu Mingxue truly didn’t feel restrained.
She ate with natural poise.
This made the Qin Family think even more highly of her.
By the end of the meal, Fu Mingxue was quite full. The food had been delicious.
As for why that sister-in-law was absent—Fu Mingxue didn’t ask.
’Sometimes, it’s best to mind your own business.’
"Grandpa, Grandma, Father, Mother, the twins are still at home. They just recovered from being sick, so I’m worried about them. I’ll head back first. I’ll come visit you all again when I have time."
Mrs. Qin had wanted her to stay for a few more days, but considering the children, she nodded in agreement.
"Alright. Come over whenever you’re free."
"Okay." After saying goodbye to the Qin Family, Fu Mingxue prepared to leave.
Just then, Qin Wenying called out to her. "Wait a minute. I’ll take you."
"Sister, there’s no need. I can manage on my own."
"Keep up." Qin Wenying was someone who wouldn’t take no for an answer.
She was already walking outside.
Seeing this, Fu Mingxue had no choice but to follow her out.
Qin Wenying wasn’t wheeling out a ladies’ bicycle, but a heavy-duty roadster.
The way she balanced on one foot was incredibly cool.
Fu Mingxue sat on the bicycle’s rear rack.
"Sister, I heard you’re a pilot. That’s so amazing!" A female pilot in this day and age was just beyond incredible.
Fu Mingxue was genuinely full of admiration.
A corner of Qin Wenying’s mouth lifted. "It’s alright."
Fu Mingxue wasn’t usually very talkative, but now she found herself asking lots of questions about being a pilot.
Fortunately, Qin Wenying was very patient this time and answered all of them.
Following Fu Mingxue’s directions, they soon arrived at her courtyard house.
"Sister, we’re here. This is the place. Why don’t you come in and sit for a while?"
"I have something to do. Next time." After saying this, Qin Wenying turned her bicycle around and left.
Fu Mingxue was left speechless.
Just then, the main gate opened, and Mrs. Fu came out.
She was surprised to see her daughter return alone.
"Why are you back by yourself? Where’s your son-in-law?"
She had thought they wouldn’t make the traditional newlywed visit home until tomorrow at the earliest.
"He left for a mission last night. Qin Wenhao’s sister brought me back."
Mrs. Fu was shocked. "What? Your son-in-law left for a mission? He left last night?"
"Yes." Fu Mingxue replied before walking inside. "Mom, how were the two kids last night?"
"They were very well-behaved!" Mrs. Fu said, closing the gate.
She followed her into the courtyard. "Wenhao’s sister was just here. Why didn’t you invite her in to sit for a while?"
"She had something to do!" Fu Mingxue didn’t elaborate.
She had a few things she needed to take care of today as well.
