Dauph34: That was truly a thrilling escapade I do agree alas I am not that familiar with usgaisjans is it normal for one to be so pale I was under the assumption that usgaisjans were of a green pigmentation
Larimar: I believe the discolouration of that woman, as well as what was on her person, was due to the effects of stasis. The "tomb" she was in must have been a stasis pod, the way it vented mist when it was opened, and prolonged stays in stasis can essentially bleach materials of their color. Judging how completely white everything about her was, I believe that she had been in stasis for quite some time.
FormulatedFoundry: That would make sense, with how decrepit everything in that cargo hold that wasn't Hyttan made looked. And you were right, Dauph34, she really did look like a knight! That armor was really old fashioned!!!

j4x: no information about her has gone up yet, so the Knight of the Tomb is a good a name as any for now! just been trying to run a quick search on that style of armor, and it doesn't look like it's from the last century of Usgaisjan tech. I'm extending my search further back.
Larimar: You'd be safest extending it several centuries back, as that level of bleaching can take at least three hundred Cycles.
Dauph34: I am very glad that those raiders have been taken care of now they will be able to get the device which was clearly tied to this ship how marvellous for the crew of the Pelekys they have two Hyttan ships and an entire squadron of Odazaen to add to their fleet I wonder will they actually become a fleet now is that something that the Kith do
Kraia: yeah sometimes, but it's not a guaranteed thing. some kith crews will amass large crews with the intend of taking prize ship and building up their own little navies, but i really doubt that the crew of the pelekys are going to do the same. they seem both tight knit and antisocial if i'm being honest, which is something i like about them. i'm a lot more fond of smaller crews than i am big ones

Larimar: Your translator is fine. The Teegolbserb was a Kith ship some time ago that was forced to go on a hiatus when one of their crew left for unknown reasons. No one found out what actually happened to the person behind the character, but the character continued on without the original Kith who played them, as a new hire stepped into the role, and it was explained away that they'd undergone cosmetic surgery for the sake of a mission, and they decided to stick with their new appearance.
FormulatedFoundry: The stuff on that Hyttan ship - all the Usgaisjan stuff that is - looked authentically old, so I wonder if the Knight actually was in stasis for long enough to get bleached like that, instead of the whole thing being a set up for an interesting narrative beat. She wasn't in any of these shorts, after all, and maybe that's for a reason!
Kraia: if she's actually from a time that predates usgaisjan first contact, that would be wild!!!
j4x: it isn't impossible, just really, really improbable! They did have that incident a couple Cycles back where an early Arakhne colony ship that was thought to have been lost was actually discovered way off course, and the colonists in stasis were all recovered, and they'd been drifting for almost two thousand Cycles!

Larimar: Or the delay could just be a publicity stunt to make us thing that. It could be that the crew, after their extended trip through Bernetigan space, simply have taken some time off.
Dauph34: I certainly would not blame them if that was the case as the whole journey was stressful enough as a viewer I cannot imagine what it must have felt like to be actually flying through that terrifying corner of the galaxy for days on end
Kraia: either way, these flashback shorts had some interesting information in them! the hand sought out kaizoku, grim answered a job posting for bathory, the hand and kaizoku stole an experimental thalatte ship, bathory and grim rescued augury from the baithaiz, and then we got kaizoku telling the hand to get the program that would lead them to the rest of the storlayacas! it was cool to see this little glimpse into their pasts before they joined up for the mission to get castore!
FormulatedFoundry: Yeah, it was fun seeing them be the people they were before we first saw them! But all the same, I'm looking forward to new stuff showing off the Knight of the Tomb!

Larimar: So docking the Knight's Storlayacas in the Pelekys caused something to be uploaded - an upgrade - that knocked the Program into a coma. What an odd turn of phrase to use for a digital construct, but an evocative one.
Kraia: wow the way the knight was constantly making power plays against kaizoku the entire time??? making her wait at the door, making her sit on a shorter seat, all the vagueness in what she answered… i am really liking this dynamic!!!!
j4x: but what little information the Knight revealed was super interesting! some ancient threat that we don't have a name for in the modern age! the fact that the Knight was put into stasis by the Hyttan in order to test whoever would be chosen by the Storlayacas, to train them! and that simmering antagonism between the two??? I am excited to see where this all leads!

FormulatedFoundry: I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes to that!!! Augury used almost the same turn of phrase that the Knight did… the both of them chosen by the Hyttan for some purpose. Maybe Augury didn't see the Knight because the Knight needs to test her too?
j4x: that's what I was thinking. she's a pilot like the rest of them, so they need to make sure she's just as worthy. that darkness, whatever it was, it's obviously nothing good, but it seems like Augury's got Lianshae's support, which was fun to see!
Kraia: i'm really interested to know why augury acts all twitchy around the others, because she dropped it a couple times now, and wasn't anywhere near as jittery after she came out of that vision with grim. and it was really sweet to see grim concerned about her too!
Larimar: A darkness that will spread across the stars unless the Storlayacas stop it. Something worse than the Leviathan. They've certainly come up with a compelling mystery with this.

Larimar: So docking the Knight's Storlayacas in the Pelekys caused something to be uploaded - an upgrade - that knocked the Program into a coma. What an odd turn of phrase to use for a digital construct, but an evocative one.
Kraia: wow the way the knight was constantly making power plays against kaizoku the entire time??? making her wait at the door, making her sit on a shorter seat, all the vagueness in what she answered… i am really liking this dynamic!!!!
j4x: but what little information the Knight revealed was super interesting! some ancient threat that we don't have a name for in the modern age! the fact that the Knight was put into stasis by the Hyttan in order to test whoever would be chosen by the Storlayacas, to train them! and that simmering antagonism between the two??? I am excited to see where this all leads!

Larimar: The imagery was certainly striking. A mech larger than entire worlds, big enough for suns to be its eyes. I wonder if that was supposed to be the Hyttan homeworld where Augury was pulled to in the vision?
FormulatedFoundry: I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes to that!!! Augury used almost the same turn of phrase that the Knight did… the both of them chosen by the Hyttan for some purpose. Maybe Augury didn't see the Knight because the Knight needs to test her too?
j4x: that's what I was thinking. she's a pilot like the rest of them, so they need to make sure she's just as worthy. that darkness, whatever it was, it's obviously nothing good, but it seems like Augury's got Lianshae's support, which was fun to see!
Kraia: i'm really interested to know why augury acts all twitchy around the others, because she dropped it a couple times now, and wasn't anywhere near as jittery after she came out of that vision with grim. and it was really sweet to see grim concerned about her too!
Larimar: A darkness that will spread across the stars unless the Storlayacas stop it. Something worse than the Leviathan. They've certainly come up with a compelling mystery with this.

Larimar: A pleasant night relaying then. But that was indeed an interesting tease, of secrets to begin unravelling. And the ship and Program are still offline? It's no simple upgrade, then, to have the both of them down for so long.

Larimar: Finally a chance to see the Knight in action. With the Pelekys only having its maneuvering thrusters, they'll need to rely on the Storlayacas to protect them.

Kraia: kaizoku really is such a skilled pilot, saints anoint me! the knight won't need to test her after this! did you see the way she carved the heart out of that thing!?!? the knight was right, i'd be on my knees for kaizoku the moment i laid eyes on her too!!!
Larimar: The others are competent mech pilots themselves, but Kaizoku really is on another level.

Larimar: Indeed they are. Still, it's quite apparent that Kaizoku is the best pilot among them. I'm curious to see how she would fair in an Odazaen, or a mech created by any of the modern races.
Kraia: stars remember me, those leviathan sure were short lived! hopefully the program and the pelekys comes online soon, for the sake of their food and supplies more than anything, because in terms of fighting the leviathan, i think they're going to be okay!

HELLO!?!? If this is the power of the Storlayacas together, then whatever this big bad that they're hinting at is, then it's got to be BAD.

Larimar: As am I. This was a unique development, and I am excited to see where it will lead. I haven't been this enthralled by a Kith crew in quite some time.
