Larimar: I would have to agree with you in that regard, especially with the subsequent short released with Bathory in their medbay. I have worked as a nurse before, and from what I could tell, she was legitimately showing signs of sustaining heavy injury.

This was clearly some kind of fluke, a wrong place at the wrong time kind of thing, so I don't believe it will be happening again. The crew of the Pelekys are going to be way more paranoid now, with how they almost lost Bathory on screen - and potentially off it too.

Larimar: In doing more research into other expeditions into Bernetigan space last night, everything I was able to find corroborates that a swift and silent ship that stops for nothing has just shy of 100% survivability.
epidote: But you're forgetting, the Pelekys does need to stop. Their whole reason for coming here is to retrieve the Storlayacas, and they're hardly going to be able to do that at FTL speeds. Mark my words, the moment they slow down to claim their prize, the Bernetigan will swoop in to have them converted. This is inevitable.
FormulatedFoundry: It really isn't. We haven't really seen what the Pelekys can get up to in a firefight, but we know the capabilities of the Storlayacas. Those things can tear through Leviathan like they're nothing, and Leviathan are as powerful as some starships!
epidote: In reviewing their past combat footage, its clear that their battles were fabricated. Storlayacas aren't real, those are merely extra parts strapped to Odazaen in order to bulk out their appearance. When they are forced to engage in actual combat, instead of the fabricated farce that their editor threw together, then you'll see that this crew is all bravado.

Kraia: if you paid attention, then you'd know that the storlayacas don't respond to anyone other than who they want as their pilot, and that's clearly grim that is destined for this one! even if she did send the program in a drone - and whose to say it would even be loyal to her and actually bring it back if she sent it, when we saw with this short that the program as a mission of its own that just so happens to line up with what the crew of the pelekys is doing! - it probably wouldn't be able to get the mech up and running! so what, she should have just sent it off in a ship on its own and tow it back through bernetigan space??? and the rest of the crew has proven that they're all in this for their own reasons, and that they could leave at any time, so if they weren't all loyal to this mission, they wouldn't have stuck around!
Larimar: Precisely. This crew intends on seeing this mission through to the end. Though their motives are a mystery, they're obviously loyal to one another.

epidote: To make more than one attempt at this would be the height of folly. They should have cut their losses and not even bothered, as they're only going to wind up dead in this space as is.

ANYWAY, moving my screaming over to the Midas Touch board, but so far everything is going well with their progress. No slowdown, which is a good thing. Hopefully they can maintain speed enough by avoiding any debris.

epidote: But you're forgetting, the Pelekys does need to stop. Their whole reason for coming here is to retrieve the Storlayacas, and they're hardly going to be able to do that at FTL speeds. Mark my words, the moment they slow down to claim their prize, the Bernetigan will swoop in to have them converted. This is inevitable.
FormulatedFoundry: It really isn't. We haven't really seen what the Pelekys can get up to in a firefight, but we know the capabilities of the Storlayacas. Those things can tear through Leviathan like they're nothing, and Leviathan are as powerful as some starships!
epidote: In reviewing their past combat footage, its clear that their battles were fabricated. Storlayacas aren't real, those are merely extra parts strapped to Odazaen in order to bulk out their appearance. When they are forced to engage in actual combat, instead of the fabricated farce that their editor threw together, then you'll see that this crew is all bravado.

Larimar: Indeed. The Program wanted to be captured, and though it had been fit with some type of control, it disabled it seemingly without notice. Or at least it thought it had. Ever as always, Kaizoku seems to be aware of more than she lets on.

epidote: If she was smart, she wouldn't be going to Bernetigan space. If she were smart, she would send the Program in a drone to retrieve the mech she wants. If she were smart, she wouldn't be risking her crew like this.
Kraia: if you paid attention, then you'd know that the storlayacas don't respond to anyone other than who they want as their pilot, and that's clearly grim that is destined for this one! even if she did send the program in a drone - and whose to say it would even be loyal to her and actually bring it back if she sent it, when we saw with this short that the program as a mission of its own that just so happens to line up with what the crew of the pelekys is doing! - it probably wouldn't be able to get the mech up and running! so what, she should have just sent it off in a ship on its own and tow it back through bernetigan space??? and the rest of the crew has proven that they're all in this for their own reasons, and that they could leave at any time, so if they weren't all loyal to this mission, they wouldn't have stuck around!
Larimar: Precisely. This crew intends on seeing this mission through to the end. Though their motives are a mystery, they're obviously loyal to one another.

FormulatedFoundry: I really think so too. Its got more going on, that's been proven with this stunt. But it seemed to respect Kaizoku for it, so here's hoping that it's going to stay loyal to more than just its mysterious mission once they have all the mechs!

Kraia: no way they're going to be caught out like that! the ship is too quick, and they can hop into subspace whenever they need, so if the worst comes to pass and they end up getting chased by a bernetigan ship, they can always duck into subspace and try again later! i would much rather them have to make a dozen attempts and come out alive every time than succeed and die!
epidote: To make more than one attempt at this would be the height of folly. They should have cut their losses and not even bothered, as they're only going to wind up dead in this space as is.
