Larimar: Perhaps a modified Odazaen? I've never seen one that looked like that. From the scale of its surroundings, it looks to be larger than any Odazaen I've seen.

Larimar: That could be a possibility. I'm interested to see what this crew plans on doing with such a mech, in that case. Odazaen tend to do well against Leviathan, so that's a possibility, though mercenary work is also something that crews with multiple mechs frequently partake in. Either way, if that is a shell placed on an Odazaen, I don't imagine it would do well against actual foes, so we will have to see what they plan on as they release more information.

Kraia: odazaen were made by the hyttan, and all their stuff has self-healing properties, meaning that any time you try to bolt anything extra onto it, "wounding" the hyttan material to do so, it will "heal" the modification by pushing them out. that's why, if there is a shell put overtop of a odazaen, then it can't be bolted on, so it's going to be rattling loose, so that won't provide much in the way of protection.
Larimar: It could, of course, be a form of ablative armor, but I imagine it would be costly to keep replacing pieces with every encounter that removes them.

Larimar: What they mean is that schedules for releases are entirely dependant on whatever Kith crew you are watching. Some have regular video drops or broadcasts, while others will release content whenever they finish it. The crew of the Pelekys seems to be operating on either their own time, or a schedule that none of us have been as yet able to parse, so I would suggest setting up alerts so that you will be notified whenever they upload new content.

Larimar: These Storlayacas units are what I most look forward to seeing more of. I do hope that they are an actual, newly discovered piece of Hyttan tech, and not just set dressing over Odazaen. Though by what information they've shared about the mechs, they are quite a bit larger than any Odazaen on record. Modern engineers have yet to design a working mech that can reach the same towering heights, so I highly doubt these things are a modern creation.

For how prominently present these Storlayacas are in the material that has been released so far, it would be folly for them to be nothing more than fabrications. Would that the Hyttan language was understood, for I would dearly like to know what the word "storlayacas" actually means.

Larimar: That was my takeaway from the video. So they seek these Storlayacas, because they are being called out to? That is not something that Hyttan tech is known for.

Larimar: If I had to hazard a guess, I would assume from one of the self-titled "Enlightened" races, as Kaizoku mentioned something along the lines of age equalling superiority. Her faction and Bathory's are coming together at the behest of the Storlayacas, and it sounds like they intend on stealing more than just a giant mach.

violetAXE: Yeah, that does make it sound like the Storlayacas have minds of their own. Have any of you heard of such a thing before?
Larimar: Not with Hyttan tech, at least. Some security systems do have neural locks, wherein they will only open or close at the command of a specific person's brainwaves, but these need to be set up beforehand, during the installation process. From the sounds of this, those on the crew (or soon to be crew) of the Pelekys have yet to encounter any Storlayacas beyond the ones that Kaizoku and Augury have. There's some interesting implications there, if that is the case.

Larimar: If the Storlayacas are able to choose who will pilot them, it implies that there is something of an intelligence within them. The Odazaen do not share this trait, as anyone is able to take to the pilot seat of these without issue.

Larimar: Kith broadcasts tend to be more secure than most, but not impenetrable, so I don't fault them for taking any precautions if they plan on stealing from one of the Enlightened. As for which of them they'll be liberating a Storlayacas from, the only thing I know for certain is that it won't be from the Bernetigan.

The Kith are tight lipped about the specifications of their broadcast technology, so I can't say for certain if they would trigger any sensors within wherever it is that the crew of the Pelekys will be stealing from. This early into their careers, it would be a shame to have it end so abruptly.

does the queen's hand have a proper name? the imagery from the vision had her surviving something bad, but beyond that we don't have details. how did she even cross paths with the queen in order to become her red left hand?
the vision of bathory showed her also as the survivor of something, but maybe she was the cause of the carnage around her? she looked scared about it, but was it guilt or grief? "chancellor" means she's some kind of official, so is she working on someone else's behalf?
grim's clearly military, or ex military from what that vision showed. i know human and apiarian territory is near to one another, but is that the only reason they crossed paths?
we know that augury got rescued by grim and bathory, that she had a storlayacas, that she can see visions, but that's all we really know about her. what race could she be? if she was rescued, who had her first, and why?
then the program. what was it created for, and why did it kill the people around it before? will it kill again?
when i tell you that the intrigue around this crew has me excited!!!!

I know that usgaisjan have telekinetic abilities, and koleopterans are empathic, but like with the zymeth and their telepathy, prophecy is not something that their natural abilities would grant them. Perhaps, then, Augury is supposed to be from another race, one not yet known by the general public?

Larimar: These Storlayacas units are what I most look forward to seeing more of. I do hope that they are an actual, newly discovered piece of Hyttan tech, and not just set dressing over Odazaen. Though by what information they've shared about the mechs, they are quite a bit larger than any Odazaen on record. Modern engineers have yet to design a working mech that can reach the same towering heights, so I highly doubt these things are a modern creation.

violetAXE: Kith crews do stuff like merc work, Leviathan hunting, and pillaging from cargo ships, not to mention getting into scraps with the law, so not having mechs to what? Just generate scenes of them? Seems like it would be a waste of energy to me, and a liability.
Larimar: I would have to agree with you on that. For how prominently present these Storlayacas are in the material that has been released so far, it would be folly for them to be nothing more than fabrications. Would that the Hyttan language was understood, for I would dearly like to know what the word "storlayacas" actually means.

Larimar: That was my takeaway from the video. So they seek these Storlayacas, because they are being called out to? That is not something that Hyttan tech is known for.
Kraia: maybe they aren't hyttan after all? maybe something older??? i wonder who they're stealing it from?
Larimar: If I had to hazard a guess, I would assume from one of the self-titled "Enlightened" races, as Kaizoku mentioned something along the lines of age equalling superiority. Her faction and Bathory's are coming together at the behest of the Storlayacas, and it sounds like they intend on stealing more than just a giant mach.

violetAXE: Yeah, that does make it sound like the Storlayacas have minds of their own. Have any of you heard of such a thing before?
Larimar: Not with Hyttan tech, at least. Some security systems do have neural locks, wherein they will only open or close at the command of a specific person's brainwaves, but these need to be set up beforehand, during the installation process. From the sounds of this, those on the crew (or soon to be crew) of the Pelekys have yet to encounter any Storlayacas beyond the ones that Kaizoku and Augury have. There's some interesting implications there, if that is the case.

Larimar: If the Storlayacas are able to choose who will pilot them, it implies that there is something of an intelligence within them. The Odazaen do not share this trait, as anyone is able to take to the pilot seat of these without issue.

violetAXE: Probably because they didn't want to tip off the people they're going to be stealing from!
Larimar: Kith broadcasts tend to be more secure than most, but not impenetrable, so I don't fault them for taking any precautions if they plan on stealing from one of the Enlightened. As for which of them they'll be liberating a Storlayacas from, the only thing I know for certain is that it won't be from the Bernetigan.

Kraia: so it sounds like they're going to be hitting that place tomorrow, so do you think it's going to be a recording, or a broadcast?
violetAXE: I'm betting it's going to be a recording. They're new to this and all, so I figure they'd want to have a little more experience under their belts before they pull something like this off live.
Larimar: I was thinking the exact same thing. The Kith are tight lipped about the specifications of their broadcast technology, so I can't say for certain if they would trigger any sensors within wherever it is that the crew of the Pelekys will be stealing from. This early into their careers, it would be a shame to have it end so abruptly.
Kraia: yeah especially since they've set up so many interesting mysteries! I can't wait until tomorrow to see what they have in store for this!!!
