Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Chapter 159: Divine Mysteries [5]

The severed head of the celestial rolled off the stone altar, leaving behind a torrent of shimmering, golden blood that pooled across the broken marble.

As the angel’s physical life extinguished, its divine soul shattered into thousands of glowing, ethereal fragments.

The shards floated into the stagnant air of the cavernous hall like a vortex of liquid starfire, illuminating the shadows with a brilliant, celestial radiance.

The pure, unrefined energy hummed with immense spiritual weight, desperate to scatter into the void and return to the realm from whence it came.

Roy stood over the corpse, his dual golden-crimson eyes reflecting the swirling sea of divine light.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he raised his palm and channeled the absolute, primordial power residing within his core.

He activated the innate authority of his Divine Domain: Gluttony

In the overarching hierarchy of the universe, a Ruler-class Divine Domain was a realm-defining anomaly.

Unlike standard domain authorities that merely manipulated elemental law or spatial pressure, the Innate Authority of Gluttony operated on a level of absolute consumption.

It was a terrifying force that refused to recognize the boundaries between the physical and the intangible.

Matter, mana, spatial barriers, spiritual threads, or divine souls—it made no difference to the maw of Gluttony.

It devoured everything without distinction.

BZZZZZZT—THUM!

The moment the authority ignited, the atmosphere within the subterranean palace broke completely.

The domain did not merely manifest inside Roy’s mind; its authority spiraled violently into the physical world, tearing through reality itself.

The surrounding space cracked like brittle glass, and from those spatial fissures emerged thousands of sharp, crimson spectral fangs.

The monstrous jaws manifested across every inch of the hall, floating in mid-air, snapping and tearing through the very fabric of existence.

NOM! NOM! CRUNCH!

The crimson fangs descended upon the scattered soul fragments with horrifying, ravenous ferocity.

Every glowing shard of the angel’s divine soul was hunted down, bitten, and dragged into the gaping, crimson vortex opening behind Roy’s back.

The sheer, violent noise of reality being bitten apart echoed through the palace, sending shockwaves through the bedrock of the earth.

The process was nothing short of brutal and terrifying.

Standing a short distance away, the ethereal vessel of Telvanus felt the spatial pressure slam against his divine perception.

The sheer intensity of the devouring authority caused the God of Information’s vessel to stagger backward by two full steps, his shifting, starry robes fluttering wildly in the spiritual gale.

Telvanus’s scrolling golden eyes widened slightly, his sharp eyebrows furrowing into a deep, calculating line.

He stared at Roy, who remained completely motionless in the center of the crimson storm—unshaken, cold, and absolute.

’He isn’t even a True God yet...’ Telvanus thought, his mind racing through infinite streams of data as he felt the oppressive weight suffocating the room.

’His divine spark hasn’t fully ignited, his kingdom isn’t even anchored to the Upper Heavens, and yet... his Divine Domain carries such terrifying authority.’

Telvanus let out a long, heavy sigh, shaking his head with a faint, wry smile. He muttered softly to the empty air, "The Ruler-class Divine Domain is as absurdly mighty as the ancient records say. To think Damascus’s slayer would manifest such a dangerous attribute..."

Within moments, the last glowing fragment of the angel was consumed.

The crimson fangs dissolved back into the spatial cracks, leaving the throne room in a heavy, eerie quiet once more.

Roy closed his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest as he stood over the altar.

Deep within his vessel, the devourer authority began its work.

The God of Beasts slowly digested the devoured soul fragments, stripping away the celestial memories and refining the raw, pristine divinity contained within the angel’s core.

As the divine digestion reached its peak, Roy’s physical vessel flickered violently for a brief second—his skin glowing with a blinding crimson and golden light, radiating a brief pulse of sheer divine majesty that caused the entire underground palace to tremble to its very foundations.

His sleek golden hair fluttering in the wind.

Dust cascaded from the vaulted ceiling, and new cracks webbed across the marble pillars.

Then, the light settled.

A translucent, crimson interface panel spawned directly before Roy’s eyes, floating in the air with crisp, glowing text.

[Reporting...]

[Player Varanus has digested both the divine soul and divine essence of the Angel of Justice, ’Teraxes’.]

[You have devoured 10,000 Divine Essence!]

Roy stared at the floating numbers, his golden-crimson eyes narrowing into a sharp frown.

"Ten thousand?" Roy muttered, his eyebrows furrowing as he inhaled a deep breath of the heavy air. "To think a broken, half-dead angel possessed this much divine essence..."

From the sidelines, Telvanus let out a soft, melodic giggle.

He folded his hands back into his long sleeves, stepping forward with his usual, subtle smile.

"Why sound so surprised, Varanus?" Telvanus explained smoothly, his distorted voice echoing softly. "Angels are divine spirits born directly into the Upper Mythical Realms. By their very nature, their bodies are constructed from condensed divinity. Possessing tens of thousands of divine essence is standard for a celestial of that rank."

The vessel tilting his head slightly toward the headless corpse on the altar. "In fact, ten thousand is a pittance for a six-winged angel. It is only because he was so severely battered, corrupted by Malice, and drained by those chains that his reserve dropped to such a pitiful level.

Had he been at full strength, you would have reaped five times that amount."

Telvanus grinned, his golden eyes scrolling with light. "Still, ten thousand units of pure Divine Essence is a massive haul for your current state.

Since your current state is also structured around a Divine Spirit, that energy will comfortably sustain your divine authority and fuel your abilities for a long time without needing to drain your kingdom’s faith reserves."

Roy processed the information, feeling the warm, dense pool of refined divine essence settling comfortably into his divine sea

He turned his head toward the God of Information and offered a slight, respectful nod.

"Thank you for the guidance, Telvanus," Roy said calmly. "Your information saved me from making a costly mistake with Creation Essence."

Telvanus merely shrugged his slender shoulders, his smile remaining as enigmatic as ever.

"Do not mention it, Varanus," Telvanus replied lightly. "We are allies and business partners, are we not? I am heavily investing in your potential to disrupt the stagnant balance of the Upper Heavens.

Consider my guidance a standard return on my investment."

Roy let out a small, amused smile, looking at the deity. "Speaking of investments... what exactly do you want me to do across the Ten Continents? Is it time for me to move against the major divine footholds?"

Telvanus listened to the question, but instead of giving an immediate directive, he shook his head slowly and let out a soft sigh.

"No, Varanus," Telvanus answered, his tone turning serious. "It is still far too early for you to venture into the Southern Continents. The powers lurking down there are ancient, deeply rooted, and monitored by the eyes of several True Gods."

The God of Information gestured toward the ceiling, referencing the world above. "For now, focus your strength on the mortal plane. Explore the Jura Eastern Continent, subjugate its hidden forces, build your mortal foundations, and dismantle the local threats—like those arrogant human sects operating in your backyard.

Accumulate tens of thousands of followers and master the mortal plane first before you look toward the south."

Telvanus scrolling golden eyes locked onto Roy’s face with a profound, piercing gaze.

"And remember... when the time finally comes and you cross those southern borders, you must be fully prepared to ignite your spark and ascend as a True God."

With those final words, the air surrounding the vessel of Telvanus warped once more.

The starry robes faded into intangible mist, the scrolling runes dissolved into thin air, and the aura of the God of Information vanished completely from the subterranean realm without leaving behind a single trace.

Roy stood alone in the grand, ruined hall.

The heavy silence returned, broken only by the faint hum of his own refined divine essence circulating within his chest.

Roy looked down at the pale, headless corpse of the angel lying upon the blood-stained altar, letting out a long, quiet sigh that echoed into the dark abyss.

He turned his back on the altar and began walking toward the grand exit of the castle, his golden hair swaying softly behind him.

Unbeknownst to him, a pair of violet eyes was watching him from the very beginning.
