Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 299-Fine, I Will Be With Her Boyfriend Then

Verity:

I remained standing in the kitchen while Jaguar walked away after saying all of that to me.

For a few moments, I couldn’t even understand what had just happened.

Then it hit me.

Of course.

Jaguar had finally gotten to sleep with me, and now he was starting to show his true colors.

Before this, he’d always spoken so sweetly to me.

Maybe he’d started thinking I was under his control now.

That was a very big misunderstanding.

What angered me even more was the way he’d drawn a boundary for me and then walked straight out to see Gigi.

And it wasn’t just him.

Theodore was there too.

I marched back toward my room, picked up my phone, and called Theodore.

One thing was certain. I was going to get him out of there.

However, Theodore declined my call.

I called again.

He declined it again.

I called a third time, and once again, he cut the call.

A few seconds later, a message from him appeared.

And the moment I read it, my temper flared.

Theodore: If I’m declining your call, it means I’m busy, doesn’t it?

But after reading his message, something about my own reaction felt strange.

I didn’t even know why.

I was only pretending to like them, so technically, I should’ve been angry because my plan wasn’t going the way I wanted.

Then why did this feel so personal?

Why was I genuinely irritated?

The realization made me hate myself a little.

I came back out of my room, tossed my phone onto the couch, and sat down.

I buried my face in my hands.

"Oh no! Something’s wrong with the Alpha King!"

A maid’s panicked voice made me immediately pull my hands away from my face.

I stepped out of my wing and saw her running frantically through the living room.

"Alpha King—-Jaguar, Alpha King— Theodore isn’t in his room."

She could barely get the words out, her hands trembling badly.

"Wait. Why are you looking for them?" I asked.

Then I remembered that just a little while ago, she’d been talking about Ragnar.

"I don’t know what’s wrong with Alpha King Ragnar. I went to give him his night tea, and I found him lying on the floor. His eyes had rolled completely white."

The moment she said that, my heart lurched.

I left her there and ran toward Ragnar’s room.

By the time I entered, Ragnar was no longer lying where she’d found him.

He had somehow dragged himself toward the corner of the room.

He was breathing hard, each breath leaving him with force.

His eyes narrowed when he saw me.

Then he lifted one hand and moved his fingers slightly, gesturing that he was fine and that I shouldn’t come any closer.

"Go get some water," I told the maid before stepping farther into the room and rushing toward him.

"Please don’t tell me that you’re this powerful Alpha King and one little slip left you in this condition," I snapped as I slipped his arm over my shoulder.

"Come on. Get up."

My tone warned him not to tell me he was fine and order me away.

I had come to support him.

But the moment I tried to lift him, I realized how ridiculous that idea was.

It felt like an ant trying to help an elephant.

His body was so heavy and powerful that I could barely move him.

I carefully lowered his arm from my shoulders and rested it across my lap before giving it a light pat.

"Fine. Then we’ll treat you right here," I told him.

I turned and took the glass of water from the maid.

"What are you still standing here for? Go. He’s fine," I told her.

She was being far too nosy, looking around the room as if she were trying to inspect everything.

She shrugged and finally left.

The strange thing was that Ragnar already seemed much better.

He was still breathing heavily, though.

He snatched the glass of water from my hand and drank from it.

"You know, people usually say thank you," I reminded him as I reached for the glass.

But he didn’t let go immediately.

For a moment, our fingers touched around the glass.

I looked up at him.

He was already looking at me.

Then he finally released it.

"You shouldn’t have come in here," he said. "I had a nightmare and caught myself sleep walking for a bit. Maybe I need to transition. My wolf gets a little restless sometimes."

Everything he was saying sounded like complete bullshit.

I’d already heard that his family had once been terrified he’d suffered a heart attack.

Something was definitely wrong with him.

And he was hiding it.

"And why are you here? Where’s Theodore? Jaguar should have come," Ragnar said as he started pushing himself to his feet.

I noticed the way he braced one hand against the wall behind him for support.

For someone claiming to be perfectly fine, he was moving very carefully.

"Well, your dear brother went to comfort your fiancée," I informed him casually.

"Comfort her? Why?" he asked.

I think that might have been the first time Ragnar had ever directly asked me for information.

Usually, Ragnar didn’t ask people questions.

He found things out himself.

But whatever had just happened to him seemed to have left him slightly disoriented.

"I don’t know. All I know is Theodore went there first. Later, Jaguar spoke to Gigi and realized she was really upset, so he went over there to cheer her up."

As I finished speaking, I looked back at Ragnar.

He had one hand pressed against his waist, as if he were still in pain.

His muscles were tense, the veins in his arms standing out, and his other hand had curled into a fist.

"Aren’t you going to go comfort her too?" I asked.

One of his eyebrows lifted.

"No. Those two can handle it," he replied casually.

"Wow. All right, then. I’m going back to my room."

I started walking away.

"You still haven’t told me," he called from behind me.
