Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 169-A True Friend Like Gigi

Jenna:

I was panicking.

The minute she said she knew I had a crush on Theodore, my entire life flashed before my eyes.

This is exactly why Lady Lucille had asked me never to spend time alone with Gigi again.

She told me Gigi was clever.

She told me Gigi was mean.

Gigi was too bold for someone like me.

She made me promise never to even sit with Gigi unless other people were around.

But what could I do?

She kept following me.

In fact, she walked right into the kitchen and asked the maids to leave so we could spend time together.

That was exactly what I had wanted until yesterday, even until an hour ago.

But now I couldn’t break Lady Lucille’s promise, the promise I had made to her.

And yet, the moment Gigi added that last part, all the panic and anxiety I had been feeling eased a little.

"Well, it is not a bad thing."

There was such a warm, welcoming look on her face.

She smiled, leaned against me, and playfully nudged my shoulder with her elbow.

"I’d want a sister-in-law like you too."

Then she said the magical words I had always wanted to hear from her.

My eyes widened, and my mouth fell open.

For the next few minutes, I simply stared at her without uttering a word.

"Are you okay?" she asked with a laugh, gently placing her hand on my shoulder and giving me a light shake.

"I’m not sure what you’re talking about," I lied, lowering my gaze to avoid looking back into her eyes.

"I understand how you’re feeling. You’re young. You’re a virgin. Things like this can be overwhelming, and I’m being very straightforward. But I wanted to be honest with you. I want you with Theodore more than I want anyone else with him."

Gigi hopped off the counter, making it clear that she wanted to bring me together with the man I’d had a crush on for so long.

"I don’t think we’re compatible."

I finally dropped the act of pretending I didn’t know what she was talking about.

She was talking about something I had wanted for so long.

Finally, someone was acknowledging my love for Theodore and was willing to help me.

At least, that’s what it seemed like.

So why the fuck would I ruin it?

"I know, but I also know you’re the only one who can tame him. You can change him," Gigi said as she stood behind me, resting a hand on my shoulder.

It was such a comforting touch.

"But even then, he doesn’t look at me that way because I’m not his type."

I turned to her, sadness written across my face.

"Oh? You know what his type is?" she asked, rolling her eyes.

One hand rested on the counter while the other settled on her waist, her body leaning toward the counter.

"You," I uttered, watching her, my eyes widening. "I mean, I think he likes someone like you. Bold. Confident. The way he looks at you is full of admiration. It’s like he wants someone like you."

I mumbled through everything, trying to choose the right words without making it sound like her brother-in-law looked at her differently.

"He’s an idiot," she replied with a laugh. "He looks at me with admiration because I make his brother happy."

She bit her bottom lip.

"But you," she murmured, "are exactly the kind of woman he likes."

She giggled, making my heart leap with excitement.

"Really?" I asked, turning to face her as she leaned back against the counter with her arms folded across her chest.

"Really. I spoke with him. I asked him what kind of girl he wanted, and he said, well, someone who’s innocent. Someone who’s so naive, so pure, yet bold when it comes to him. Someone who’d break every restraint holding her back for him. That’s the kind of woman he wants to settle down with," Gigi explained, unfolding her arms and placing both hands behind her on the counter.

"And I can tell that’s you. You’re still a virgin. Definitely his type," she added with a smile, lowering her voice for the last few words.

"But—I mean, he did do something the other day," I admitted shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

I watched Gigi’s smile freeze.

She simply stared at me without blinking.

"Really?" she asked at last. "What did he do? Tell me."

She rubbed her hands together excitedly, eager to hear more.

It felt so good to have a friend I could share these little moments with, these exciting moments involving Theodore.

"So, the other day, he took me into the kitchen," I began, explaining the little incident.

"He held my hand, then stood so close behind me and whispered, asking if I’d ever had anyone between my legs while I was in the kitchen."

I felt like I would melt into butter.

Even repeating those words aloud made my cheeks grow warm.

I was sure I’d turned tomato red.

Every time I thought about that moment while looking in the mirror, my cheeks flushed all over again.

"Really?" Gigi gasped, placing both hands over her chest.

Then she puckered her lips before smiling brightly at me.

"I’m so happy for you. See? This is exactly what I’m talking about. He has feelings for you."

She zoned out before smiling again.

"But I think he wants you to take a chance. To be bold enough for him. To show him you’ll do anything for his love."

She went on to explain what alpha kings wanted.

After all, she knew them far better than I did.

Even though I had lived with Theodore’s family for a long time, I had never really spent much time with them.

So I trusted Gigi’s judgment.

"Besides, he has plenty of women who’d love to be with him. But you understand what I’m trying to say, right?"

She then raised one beautifully shaped eyebrow and reached out, gently slipping her fingers beneath my chin to lift my face.

"Are you ready to do anything for him?" she asked, making my heart flutter inside my chest.

It was true. I was, and I wanted to have him no matter what.

By no matter what, I meant by showing him how much I loved him.

But was I really ready to do anything for him?

Now Gigi was watching my face, waiting for an answer, and I had to give her one.
