Legendary Beast Cultivator

Chapter 130: Wrath of the four cultivators

The main hall had already fallen into chaos. The glacial frost formed at one side of the vast chamber, while pitch-black demonic aura consumed the other. At the center of the chaos, the two great swords continued their violent clash.

Xue Jianhong’s Frostfall slashed through the air, carving wide trails of icy sword light across the stone floor. Opposite to him, the demonic cultivator answered with Wànshī — the Ten Thousand Corpses. Every attack of the single-edged blade unleashed a swirling black mist, resembling many distorted phantom hands reaching out from the hell.

Xue Jianhong gritted his teeth, his breathing was shallow as beads of sweat dripped from his chin and his beast essence rapidly approached its limit. But, still his eyes burned with sheer resolve to kill the demonic cultivator.

"Again!" He muttered, stepping forward with all the force he could let out, Xue Jianhong concentrated his remaining essence into the silver blade, driving Frostfall down in a devastating slash that released a massive wave of pure frost.

The frozen tide lunged forward, only for the demonic cultivator to meet it head-on. He slashed Wànshī in an upward arc, a black crescent of killing sword intent sliced straight through the icy wave.

The impact shattered the air. The explosive backlash threw Xue Jianhong off his feet, sending him crashing rapidly onto the ground.

His legs trenched across the ruined stone tiles, and he coughed up a spray of crimson, blood trickling from the corner of his lips.

The demonic cultivator stepped slowly through the settling dust, his scorched and rotten mouth crawling into a terrifying grin.

Then, his left arm suddenly twitched.

A wave of pitch-black demonic essence burst out from under his tattered robe.

Chi Leiyang’s eyes widened, taking a step forward. "What the—"

A terrifying beast appeared behind the cultivator. It was a massive Blood Hound Bat with a withered, strange frame, and blood-red veins pulsing along its wings, its hollow black eyes flickered with pure killing intent.

It was surrounded by pure demonic energy, and it let out a loud screech.

Lin Yuan’s eyes widened in shock. ’That isn’t an ordinary spirit beast...’

"Did you truly believe I possessed only a single beast?" The demonic cultivator let out a rasping laugh.

Before his voice faded, the Blood Hound Bat vanished into thin air.

It reappeared above Xue Jianhong, its sharp claws flashing as they slashed downward.

Xue Jianhong raised Frostfall to shield him.

The crushing force made him down to one knee, the stone cracking under his weight.

"Arghhhh!" Xue Jianhong roared, thrusting a wave of freezing essence from his aperture.

The blast plummeted the bat backward, but the demonic cultivator was already upon him. Wànshī descended in a lethal arc.

Xue Jianhong barely parried with his blade up in time, the impact pushing him deeper into the shattered floorboards. The demonic cultivator pressed down with his right arm, while overhead, the Blood Hound Bat folded its wings and pierced down once more.

Xue Jianhong slid himself into a desperate roll.

The bat’s claws destroyed the floor into a wide crater where he had been a second prior. Xue Jianhong swung Frostfall immediately, pushing himself up.

The demonic cultivator crouched, the blade grazing his torn hood, before retaliating with a sharp thrust of Wànshī. Xue Jianhong parried, but the bat lunged from his blind spot. He pivoted his body vehemently, his chest heaving in exhaustion and managed to hit the bat’s wing with the flat of his blade.

The creature screeched and flapped backward, but the demonic cultivator was already moving forward to attack again.

The main hall turned into a storm of sword intent, sharp claws, glacial frost, demonic aura, and black flames slamming in every direction.

Xue Jianhong’s movements grew pale and sluggish. His loud gasps echoed through the hall, and his arms trembled under the strain.

He had been fighting an intense battle against a demonic cultivator wielding a great sword like him but he was a Divine Beast Realm cultivator, and also he was forced to fight the demonic cultivator’s second beast as well.

The demonic cultivator took advantage of the small opening, his rotten grin widening.

He vanished into the thin air.

Xue Jianhong’s eyes twitched in panic. "Where—"

Then, after a second he appeared in front of him, raising Wànshī high. The blade reverberated vehemently, humming with lethal intent.

Xue Jianhong could barely lift Frostfall to guard himself.

"Enough," The demonic cultivator smiled, nodding slightly, and then Wànshī descended.

In an instant, two streaks of obscuring light crossed the hall in a second.

The descending black blade came to a sudden halt, caught in mid-air by a bare hand.

Cang Ming stood between them, his right palm wrapped tightly around Wànshī’s edge, coated in a layer of thick, shimmering energy. The phantom of a sacred Qilin appeared behind him as the stone floor cracked under his feet from the sheer force of the impact.

At the same instant, Chi Leiyang moved. "Lightning Panther!"

The fierce blue lightning burst out around Chi Leiyang’s body. He thrust his right arm forward, wrapping thunderous energy around his hand like a spear of lightning aimed straight at the demonic cultivator’s exposed throat.

The cultivator’s eyes widened, but his rotten grin did not fade.

With a swift flick of his wrist, he took his sword from Cang Ming’s grip with a burst of dark energy and leaped backward into the air. Chi Leiyang’s lightning strike pierced through empty space, leaving a trail of clouds.

The demonic cultivator landed lightly a few meters away, his robes fluttering. He tilted his head, his raspy voice echoing off the pillars.

"Oh..." He smirked. "Now it’s three against one?"

Cang Ming ignored the banter, turning around to offer a hand to Xue Jianhong. "Get up!"

Xue Jianhong stared at him, his chest heaving.

"Don’t refuse our help now, you bastard. You’ve done enough on your own," Cang Ming’s eyes twitched in anger.

He lifted Xue Jianhong to his feet. "Don’t go dying on us."

"Fine!" Xue Jianhong looked at the demonic cultivator, then down at his trembling, blood-stained hands. He tightened his grip on Frostfall’s hilt.

Chi Leiyang stepped up to their side, the arcs of lightning crackling across his shoulders.

Suddenly, a wave of intense heat rumbled out across the main hall. Everyone turned toward the dais.

The stone floor under the central platform began to melt, turning into red liquid slag as the temperature increased. A massive vortex of golden-crimson fire spiraled upward into the roof.

And the deliberate footsteps echoed through the rage.

Xue Hongzhao walked down from the dais, shrouded in blazing flames. His divine Phoenix appeared, sprawling beside him with suffocating spiritual pressure, and his eyes burned with pure rage.

"That is enough," his voice roared like a thunderstorm.

The flames around him flared outward in a massive wave. "I will ensure you are reduced to ash now, you filthy rot."

The demonic cultivator stared at the sect master, then threw his head back and laughed maniacally. "Hahaha!"

Above him, the Blood Hound Bat let out a piercing screech, while Wànshī rattled eagerly in his right hand.

The four powerful cultivators now surrounded him on all sides: Xue Jianhong, Chi Leiyang, Cang Ming, and Xue Hongzhao.

It was four against one. The demonic cultivator’s smile remained the same. "Come."

Xue Hongzhao struck first, waving his arm to release a divine phoenix made from golden-crimson flames that perched down from the air.

The demonic cultivator threw himself into a roll as the inferno burst out where he had stood, melting the stone into lava.

Chi Leiyang followed immediately, slashing forward as a barrage of thunderous lightning claws tore across the floor. The cultivator raised Wànshī, his arm a blur as he parried every strike.

Cang Ming appeared behind him in a flash, his Qilin aura flaring as he brought down a fist heavy enough to shatter mountains.

The demonic cultivator twisted his shoulder at an impossible angle; the fist grazed his robes and slammed into the ground, obliterating the surrounding floor.

Xue Jianhong lunged from the remaining place, sweeping Frostfall in a cold arc. The demonic cultivator crossed Wànshī defensively.

The force sent him sliding backward across the floor, but somehow, he maintained his balance and remained calm.

The demonic cultivator continued to evade and counter. He crouched under Xue Jianhong’s blade, deflected Chi Leiyang’s lightning, sidestepped Cang Ming’s crushing strike, and used Wànshī to redirect Xue Hongzhao’s Phoenix fire.

His movements were terrifyingly precise.

Observing from the edge of the main hall, Lin Yuan’s eyes narrowed. ’He’s reading them, and predicting every attack before they even execute their strikes.

Above, the Blood Hound Bat dove straight for Chi Leiyang.

"Get away!" Chi Leiyang barked, raising his arm as his Lightning Panther intercepted the creature in mid-air, both beasts tumbling across the hall in a tangle of claws and lightning.

The demonic cultivator used the split-second distraction to drive Wànshī toward Xue Jianhong.

Xue Jianhong blocked the thrust, allowing Cang Ming to lunge in from the side. The demonic cultivator leaped backward just as Xue Hongzhao unleashed another slashing wave of Eternal Flame. The cultivator leaped over the fiery fire, landing near the far wall.

Xue Hongzhao raised his hand, concentrating his essence into the Phoenix hovering overhead. "Burn!"

The divine bird dove, engulfing the far side of the hall in a roaring pillar of red flame.

The demonic cultivator leaped backward at the last possible moment, escaping the blast in an inch as the heat scorched the edges of his robes. He landed down on the stone, lowering Wànshī to catch his breath.

At that same instant, a flash of silver-white light burst from the shadows.

Lin Yuan had finally made his move. The white tiger phantom lunged from the flank, its claws tearing straight through the cultivator’s lower robes.

The thick robe split apart, leaving four bloody scratches across his left leg.

The demonic cultivator froze, petrified.

Lin Yuan stood a few meters away, his body cold and calm as the white tiger growled at his side.

The demonic cultivator slowly lowered his head, staring at the dark blood trickling down his scorched leg.

Then, he slowly raised his eyes, and his rotten grin vanished and was replaced by a flicker of surprise.
