Harry Potter: Fire Lord Black

Chapter 27. Arrive at Hogwarts!

About half an hour later, Draco returned in a huff, with Goyle and Crabbe following behind him, still muttering complaints about something.

"It makes me so mad!"

Draco plopped down on the sofa, grabbed the pumpkin juice on the coffee table and took a big gulp, his tone full of anger, "That Harry Potter is just a poor kid who has never seen the world! Wearing a ragged robe, with a red-haired idiot following him, who looks like someone from the Weasley family! I kindly went to talk to him, wanting to invite him to join us, but he actually dared to refuse me!"

"Exactly, exactly!"

Goyle immediately echoed, saying in a muffled voice, "That red-haired one even dared to glare at us! He doesn't look like anything good!"

Crabbe also nodded, his face full of indignation: "Potter doesn't deserve the title of'Savior' at all! He's just a lucky Muggle-born!"

The more Draco talked, the angrier he became, and he began to incessantly complain about Harry's shabby attire and Ron's rude behavior.

Goyle and Crabbe chimed in, and the carriage was suddenly filled with their complaints.

Edward leaned on the sofa, not even lifting his eyelids, the flame at his fingertips still jumping quietly.

These trivial matters couldn't enter his eyes at all.

The complaints in the carriage rose and fell, and the scenery outside the window gradually changed from fields to a dense Dark Forest.

I don't know how much time passed, when the announcer's voice suddenly sounded, clearly spreading throughout the entire train: "Attention students, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is about to arrive, please tidy up your luggage and prepare to get off the train."

Draco's complaining stopped abruptly, and he immediately jumped up from the sofa, the anger on his face instantly replaced by excitement: "Finally here! Hurry, hurry! I can't wait to see Hogwarts Castle!"

Goyle and Crabbe also cheered, and the other students in the carriage also stood up one after another, starting to pack their luggage in a flurry.

Edward slowly opened his eyes, picked up his trunk, and followed the flow of people out of the carriage.

Under the cover of night, Hogwarts Castle stood by the pitch-black lake, countless windows shining with warm lights, its spires piercing the night sky, like a dreamlike magic fortress.

Edward looked up at the silhouette of the Castle, a flash of fiery light in his eyes.

Edward had arrived at Hogwarts.

The roar of the Hogwarts Express completely dissipated into the night, its deep red carriages merging with the shadows of the Dark Forest. Edward carried his suitcase, stepping out of the carriage with the flow of people. The evening breeze, laden with the damp moisture of the Black Lake, washed over him, carrying the fresh, cool scent of grass and earth that swept away the exhaustion of the journey.

By the platform, a Giant as burly as a small hill was shouting at the top of his booming voice, the sound making the surrounding air tremble: "First-years! All first-years come to me! Hurry up! Don't dawdle!"

"It's Rubeus Hagrid! The gamekeeper and Keeper of Keys at Hogwarts!" a first-year beside him exclaimed in a hushed voice, full of awe. "I heard from my brother that he's a half-Giant!"

Edward looked up. The man was wearing a voluminous moleskin overcoat, his face covered in a thick, bushy beard that obscured half of his features. In his hand, he carried a flickering oil lamp - it was Hagrid, just as Kreacher had mentioned. Unlike the other first-years who crowded around, Edward stood on the edge of the crowd, a flame dancing silently at his fingertips within his sleeve, quietly watching Hagrid frantically count the students and occasionally scolding the children who were messing around.

Draco soon pushed through the crowd to his side. The anger on his face had not yet fully faded, his delicate brows knit together, and he was still muttering complaints: "How unlucky. Just thinking about attending the same school as that Potter and the poor Weasley boy makes me feel uneasy."

Goyle and Crabbe followed behind him like two iron towers, nodding repeatedly in agreement, their eyes full of sycophancy.

"Alright, keep up! Don't bunch up!" Hagrid waved his large hand, leading the chattering group of first-years toward the lakeside. "We're taking boats to the Castle! Four to a boat! Everyone listen to my instructions!"

A few narrow boats were moored on the clearing by the lake. Their hulls were dark and glossy, reflecting the aged luster of wood, and they swayed slightly in the moonlight. Hagrid stood with his hands on his hips, loudly directing the first-years to board in groups, while he himself took the largest boat to bring up the rear. As his oar cut through the water, it sent ripples spreading outward.

Edward was assigned to the same boat as Draco, Goyle, and Crabbe. The small boat rocked gently and slowly drifted away from the shore, heading toward the Castle in the middle of the lake. The night breeze swept across the lake, stirring up a thin layer of mist. In the distance, Hogwarts Castle appeared vaguely through the fog, countless windows glowing with warm, yellow light, its spires piercing the night sky like a magical fortress standing in fairyland.

"Look! That's Hogwarts!" Draco leaned over the gunwale, his tone full of irrepressible pride. "My father says this is the most magnificent Castle in the entire wizarding world! Even more spectacular than Malfoy Manor!"

Edward looked up, a faint flash of awe crossing his eyes. He didn't speak, just watched as the outline of the Castle gradually became clear in the mist, the flame at his fingertips dancing gently, as if responding to the magic flowing within the Castle.

When the boats docked, the Castle gates were already open. A witch in dark green robes and square glasses stood on the stone steps at the entrance. Her expression was as stern as an iron plate tempered in ice, and her gaze swept sharply over every first-year.

"It's Professor Minerva McGonagall!" Draco immediately reined in his expression and said in a hushed voice, "The Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, Head of Gryffindor, and also the Transfiguration professor! She's very strict, so you'd better not cause any trouble in front of her!"

Edward nodded slightly. He had seen Professor McGonagall's name in ancient books in the library; the records stated that she was one of the greatest Transfiguration masters of the century, with unfathomable power.

Professor McGonagall's gaze swept over all the first-years, her voice clear and authoritative, carrying unquestionable power: "Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Before we enter the Great Hall, I must remind you of a few things. First, certain areas of the Castle are off-limits to students, especially the Forbidden Forest and the room on the right side of the third-floor corridor; you must absolutely not approach them. Second, you must wear your school robes during class and obey the instructions of each Professor. Third, the Sorting Ceremony will take place after dinner, where you will be sorted into one of the four Houses - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Your House will be your home for the next seven years, and I hope you will bring honor to your House. Now, line up and follow me."

The first-years immediately quieted down, obediently forming a long line and following Professor McGonagall into the Castle. As they passed through the vestibule paved with smooth marble and rounded the wide, spiral staircase, a heated argument suddenly erupted in the corridor, interrupting the procession.

Edward looked up to see Draco standing at the corner of the corridor, looking down at two boys - one wearing round glasses, his black hair messily plastered against his forehead, the glasses on his nose crooked; it was Harry Potter. The other was red-haired and freckled, clutching his wand tightly, his eyes wide with anger; it was clearly Ron Weasley.
