Chapter 22: she deserves a life she was denied +18
Arche stares at you for five heartbeats. Her magical perception ability still shows nothing when she looks at you--no tier, no classification, just impossible power that makes Earl Sturum's rejection seem like a cosmic joke. She's intelligent enough to understand she's being offered slavery with better conditions, not freedom.
"My sisters are already safe, aren't they?" The question comes quietly. "You didn't need to show me this to make your offer. You wanted me to choose it willingly."
You incline your head slightly, acknowledging her insight.
"Show me where they are," she demands. "If Kuuderika and Ureirika are truly safe and well-treated, I'll accept your terms. All of them."
You catch Arche's hazel eyes deliberately, letting the weight of your gaze settle before tracing her figure again--slower this time, methodical in your appraisal. She flushes but doesn't look away, some mixture of resignation and defiant pride keeping her spine straight.
Rising smoothly, you extend your arm with courtly precision. "Willingly, wherever I may lead you."
Her fingers hesitate for three heartbeats before settling on your forearm, light as breath. The touch trembles slightly.
"[Gate]." Your other hand gestures casually, and reality tears open--a perfect oval of shimmering portal magic manifesting in the private chamber. Through it, warm lamplight spills from a comfortable sitting room with overstuffed furniture and bookshelves.
Arche's breath catches audibly. Her magical perception ability still shows nothing when she looks at the spell, no tier classification, just impossible power casually wielded. "That's--how did you--"
You lead her through without answering. The portal seals behind you both with a whisper of displaced air.
The mansion's main living room welcomes you with gentle warmth. Arche turns in a slow circle, taking in the architecture that shouldn't exist--dimensional magic woven into permanent structure, comfortable chairs arranged around a crackling fireplace, hallways branching toward private quarters.
"The mansion creates rooms for each resident," you explain, watching her process the implications. "Including you, from now on. Though the twins seem to prefer sleeping together for the time being."
Her face goes very still at the mention of Kuuderika and Ureirika. "You said they were safe. I want to see them. Now."
You incline your head and guide her down the left hallway. "[Darkvision]." Her pupils dilate as the spell takes effect, turning the dim corridor into clear sight. "[Silence]." The soft padding of your footsteps vanishes, replaced by complete quiet.
At the third door on the right, you stop and release her arm.
Arche's hand trembles as it reaches for the doorknob. She pushes it open slowly, moonlight from the room's window illuminating two small figures curled together beneath blankets--honey-blonde hair splayed across pillows, peaceful faces slack with sleep. Eleven years old and safe.
Your arm wraps around Arche's waist from behind, pulling her back against your chest. She gasps, surprise making her stiffen--the sudden shift from observing her sisters to physical contact catching her completely off-guard. She doesn't resist, but her body doesn't yield either, frozen in uncertainty.
Ignoring her shock, you trace fingers up the outside of her leg with deliberate slowness. Her dress lifts inch by inch--thigh, hip, the curve of her waist. Your hand settles on the outside of her simple cotton panties.
"What are you--" she whispers, but the [Silence] swallows her words.
The panties vanish into your inventory with a thought. Her dress drops back down as you continue upward--ribs, collarbone, throat. Your fingers settle on her neck, thumb rubbing slow circles against her pulse point.
You lean close to her ear, voice pitched to carry through the silence spell. "Your first order is this: You're going to go into that room, hang your dress on the back of a chair, and crawl naked into bed with your sisters. They'll be curious that their beloved sister is naked, but thrilled that you're here with them. You can ask them all the questions you want after they wake up. I will return in the morning for my virgin breakfast."
You release her gently, stepping back.
Arche stands frozen in the doorway for five heartbeats, staring at her sleeping sisters. Then her hands move to the laces at her back with mechanical precision. The white dress pools at her feet. She steps out of it, carefully picks it up and hangs it over the chair beside the bed.
Moonlight paints her naked body in silver--slender build, small breasts, the vulnerable curve of her spine as she slowly climbs into bed gently between Kuuderika and Ureirika. The twins shift instinctively, curling toward their older sister's warmth.
You watch for three seconds more, then pull the door closed with a soft click and walk away down the silent hallway.
You send mental commands through your telepathic links. "Sebas - objective complete. Begin withdrawal from Earl Sturum's property. Wish Yorick well. Lisara will be cared for. Report to throne room with Demiurge and Solution when finished."
Acknowledgment ripples back immediately through the connection.
Next, you reach the doppelgangers maintaining cover in the Furt mansion. Two portable holes manifest in their hands as your message arrives. "Pack all personal belongings for the twins and Arche. Prepare for teleportation in one hour."
Jibril’s library shimmered into view around you, crystalline geometry spiraling upward into impossible heights. Knowledge hummed through the air like living static. Albedo stood at one of the research alcoves in her black-and-gold gown, golden eyes tracking Ikaros as the Angeloid arranged tomes with machine precision.
Both turned the instant you materialized.
“My Lord,” Albedo bowed, wings rustling. “Ikaros’s integration progresses smoothly. She has already catalogued seventeen thousand volumes and cross-referenced them with Synapse’s data repositories.”
Ikaros paused, emerald eyes soft with devotion. “Master. Administrative duties are complete. Query: Is additional service required?”
You turn to the Flügel. “Jibril. The High School DxD temporal calculations?”
Her wings snapped up in excitement. “Naturally! The conclusion of the Great War is pinpointed. God has just sealed Trihexa. The Four Great Satans are assessing casualties. Angels down sixty percent, devils seventy-seven, fallen eighty-two. The Biblical God will be… functionally dead within minutes.”
“Good,” you said. “Open the portal. I want to speak with divine beings before they collapse.”
Jibril’s magic flared, weaving coordinates through non-Euclidean angles. Albedo took her place at your left, armored gauntlets forming. Ikaros hovered at your right, Aegis barriers spiraling to life.
The portal parted space--revealing a battlefield under blood-red skies.
You stepped through.
The battlefield greeted you with the silence of dying gods.
Heat still rose from molten trenches where angelic and demonic powers had collided only minutes earlier. The air crackled with residual divinity that tasted like burning metal.
You stepped forward calmly.
Albedo emerged at your side still in her elegant dress, pristine despite the war-torn landscape. Her presence contrasted sharply with the devastation--silk, lace, and beauty against a shattered world. She folded her hands before her chest, wings flexing once as she evaluated the environment.
Jibril hovered above in a scholar’s posture, not a warrior’s.
Ikaros floated behind you, shields ready but dormant.
You did not prepare for battle.
You already knew none of the five surviving beings could meaningfully harm you in their state.
“Forty-nine seconds after cessation of hostilities,” Jibril whispered, almost reverently. “The battlefield retains traces of seventy-five Super-Class attacks. Fascinating.”
And then, as if summoned by your arrival, the divine signatures converged.
The Biblical God descended first. Light bled from Him, brilliance fraying like unraveling thread. His humanoid shape flickered, unstable. Behind Him, the Four Great Satans floated down from fractured sky:
- Lucifer, hair silver and eyes sharp despite exhaustion.
- Leviathan, serpentine and wounded but still wary.
- Beelzebub, analytical despite his shaking form.
- Asmodeus, pale with fatigue but smiling faintly, as if refusing to let the battlefield break his charm.
“Impossible…” God’s voice resonated through multiple layers of reality. “No breach. No summoning. No anomaly detected. You simply… appeared.”
You offered a polite smile.
“Hello. Yes. I do that sometimes.”
Lucifer’s gaze sharpened, cutting through the air like a blade. “Identify yourself before we assume hostility.”
Albedo stepped subtly closer to you--protective without appearing aggressive.
“I am a traveler between worlds,” you said. “Your war has concluded. God is seconds from death. And your factions are about to spend centuries spiraling into chaos due to decisions made today.”
Leviathan hissed softly. “Explain.”
You simply looked at the dying God. “Would you like me to speak, or would you prefer He uses the last of His strength to deny the obvious?”
The Biblical God’s form flickered violently. “You possess foreknowledge.”
“Yes.”
Lucifer’s wings twitched in a reflexive show of authority. “Prove it.”
You tilted your head toward the distant horizon. “There will be a boy named Issei Hyoudou. Red Dragon Emperor. Perpetually nearly naked and almost perpetually dead because your descendants weaponize him irresponsibly.”
“…what?”
“You, Lucifer, will die maintaining the System that your God is about to hand over in a failing state.”
Lucifer’s expression darkened.
“You, Leviathan, will have your lineage nearly eradicated.”
Her tail stiffened violently.
“Asmodeus, your clan fractures into political irrelevance. Beelzebub--your heirs repeatedly make catastrophic choices, including unsealing the very Beast God sacrificed everything to contain.”
Beelzebub’s jaw slowly opened. “…our descendants… unseal… Trihexa?”
“Intentionally,” you confirmed. “For attention. And ideology. And stupidity.”
A long silence fell.
Finally, Lucifer spoke again--this time calmer, colder, deeply calculating:
“Assuming, for the moment, that you speak truth… Why are you here?”
You held his gaze. “To negotiate.”
Asmodeus chuckled breathlessly. “Negotiate? You stroll into the aftermath of an apocalyptic war, insult our descendants, and seek negotiation?”
“Well--yes.”
Beelzebub narrowed his eyes. “State your objective.”
“I want two things,” you said, voice level.
“Information exchange. And the company of certain women.”
Leviathan’s voice sharpened. “Who?”
“Gabriel,” you answered. “And Grayfia Lucifuge. Or Grayfia Lucifuge-Gremory, depending on which records you prefer.”
Lucifer stiffened--not with anger, but surprise.
Even God’s light faltered.
“You demand high-ranking figures,” Lucifer said slowly. “Why them?”
“Because they are extraordinary,” you replied simply. “And because I would treat them better than your coming chaos will.”
Lucifer crossed his arms. “Give me one reason why I shouldn’t erase you where you stand.”
Albedo let out a soft, musical laugh. It echoed like a blade drawn from silk.
“You cannot erase him,” she said sweetly. “You are dying.”
Lucifer flinched--but only barely.
You stepped forward, letting the cosmic truth radiate from you just enough to silence the last embers of defiance.
Not threatening. Simply stating fact.
“Lucifer. Your power is magnificent. But right now? You could not kill a child.”
Asmodeus coughed, half-amused. “He’s… not wrong.”
God’s voice trembled. “If you mean no harm to Heaven… then why seek Gabriel?”
“Because she deserves a life she was denied,” you answered plainly. “You forced your most loyal angels into emotional stagnation. Eternal virginity enforced through neurotheological locks? Cruel. Unnecessary. And designed to control--not uplift.”
God’s light flickered with centuries of buried guilt.
“You know of that?”
“Everything,” you said. “Including your regrets.”
Lucifer’s eyes sharpened again.
“So you seek to steal one of Heaven’s most treasured beings. And my queen.”
“Not steal,” you corrected. “Treat. Honor. Empower.”
Albedo nodded approvingly.
“You could refuse,” you continued. “And I will still take nothing by force. But your factions will collapse without intervention. Your System will degrade. Your descendants will ruin everything you fought for. Or--”
They leaned in unconsciously.
“--you can entrust me with the tools to prevent the mistakes you already foresee.”
God’s light dimmed as His strength waned.
“…He speaks truth, Lucifer. The System is failing. My death is inevitable.”
Lucifer clenched his jaw. “Father--”
“Silence. I am aware of what I built. And what I failed to.”
He turned to you.
“If I grant you authority…
Will you protect Gabriel?
Will you guide Heaven?
Will you keep the Angels from repeating my errors?”
“I will, protect Gabriel and aid her in guiding heaven, as for the rest of the angels that will be their choices” you said.
Lucifer exhaled a long, ragged breath.
“And Grayfia?”
“Her safety. Her freedom. Her dignity.”
Then, with deliberate honesty:
“And her affection--if she chooses it.”
Lucifer blinked.
“…choice?”
“There are countless beauties across the dimensions. I have no need or interest in forcing relations. Grayfia will choose her fate.”
For the first time since your arrival, genuine surprise softened Lucifer’s face.
After several long seconds, he spoke: “…If Grayfia chooses you, then I will not stand in her way.”
God raised His trembling hand. Light condensed. The Codex of Logos formed in His palm.
“I give you the System I could not maintain. Care for my angels. Undo my mistakes.”
Lucifer followed suit, summoning a crimson-silver ring--the Lucifuge-Gremory signet.
“If Grayfia wishes it… this marks you as her rightful guardian and ally.”
And only then--after long, believable tension--they offered them to you.
The battlefield held its breath.
God’s trembling hand offered the crystalline Codex of Logos--its geometry folding and unfolding in patterns mortals would go mad trying to comprehend.
Lucifer’s signet glimmered in his palm, the markings of an ancient bloodline shimmering with unspoken meaning.
The Codex glowed faintly in God’s outstretched hand; Lucifer’s signet gleamed in his.
But you still held up a hand, stopping them.
“Before I accept,” you said calmly, “there is one more matter. A gift. Or… an amusement.”
Asmodeus blinked. “Amusement?”
“Oh yes,” you said, smiling faintly. “Your descendants will become arrogant. Fools drunk on inherited glory. They will make catastrophic decisions. They will ignore warnings. They will unseal Trihexa because they think they are smarter than you.”
Beelzebub’s wings twitched violently. “They… what?”
You nod. “Intentionally. And loudly.”
Lucifer’s jaw flexed.
Leviathan’s pupils narrowed to slits.
Asmodeus muttered something wholly unholy.
“That,” you said, “is where this comes in.” You raised your hand.
A crystalline sphere flickered into being--clear as diamond, sharp-edged like a fragment of eternity.
Inside it, a single particle of light hovered--utterly still.
No flicker. No shift. No decay. Not frozen. Erased from time.
Jibril inhaled sharply. “Master has created… a temporal null-space. A perfect time-seal.”
You nodded once. “This is the Diamond Sphere. A zero-time seal. Entering it means: no consciousness, no dreaming, no awareness, no time passing for you at all. From your perspective, you blink… and awaken in the future.”
Lucifer leaned forward, fascination overtaking exhaustion. “So it is not preservation--it is removal from the flow.”
“Correct. You vanish from the timeline until I release you.”
Leviathan’s voice was hushed. “And you… would release us when?”
“When,” you said, voice silky with anticipation, “your descendants begin executing the brilliant idea of unsealing Trihexa. At that precise moment… I will drop four ancient Super-Class devils directly on their smug, delusional heads.”
Beelzebub laughed so hard he coughed blood. “Oh I like you even more now.”
Lucifer’s eyes gleamed--not with malice, but with the vindictive delight of a father imagining his idiot grandchildren getting disciplined by primordial ancestors.
“A perfect strike of generational karma,” Asmodeus murmured. “Delicious.”
The Biblical God watched the sphere with quiet awe. “If we accept this… we return to life at the moment our descendants attempt destruction.”
“Exactly,” you said. “You appear exactly as you are now--injured, exhausted, but alive. And very, very… disappointed.”
Lucifer exhaled slowly, thinking. “And what do you gain from doing this?”
You smiled. Not maliciously -- but with the amused omnipotence of someone who had seen this cycle play out in fiction.
“Entertainment,” you said honestly. “I find it deeply enjoyable watching arrogant descendants get face-smacked by the ancestors they thought they surpassed.”
Asmodeus snorted.
Leviathan actually smirked.
Beelzebub grinned like a demon who’d found a new favorite sin.
God let out a long, weary sigh -- the sound of a being who had endured millennia of divine drama and found the idea surprisingly cathartic. “…I would enjoy seeing Michael or Azazel face my rebuke one more time,” He admitted.
Jibril covered her mouth, eyes sparkling with malicious scholarly delight.
Lucifer extended the signet more firmly. “If this is your condition, then I accept it. Seal me when you choose.”
God echoed the motion, offering the Codex of Logos. “As do I.”
You finally closed your fingers around both items.
Light flared--quiet, controlled--like Heaven whispering in relief.
The System recognized you.
You floated the Diamond Sphere into your palm and glanced at the five beings. “Any final cosmic speeches?”
Lucifer shook his head. “No.”
God simply said, “Protect Gabriel.”
Asmodeus waved weakly.
Leviathan rolled her eyes.
Beelzebub muttered, “Let’s get this over with.”
You snapped your fingers. In an instant, each of them vanished.
Albedo blinked twice. “…My Lord, that was… shockingly underwhelming.”
Jibril stared, stunned. “Five of the oldest entities in this reality… sealed with the effort of snapping one’s fingers…”
Ikaros tilted her head. “Adequate efficiency.”
You shrug.
