Chapter 110: 110
[A/N : Expect 2 chapters in the next 24 hours regardless of the power stones]
Kisame was flabbergasted by the strength of this unknown man. If Sasuke's punch was like a strong reminder that he was getting old, then the attack of this masked guy was making him remember that he was on his death bed. Even Samehada wasn't having a good time with that attack, and thus he needed to level the playing field here.
A colossal torrent erupted beneath him, swallowing the forest in seconds. Trees disappeared beneath the rising flood while an artificial lake rapidly formed around the battlefield. Kisame smiled grimly as he stood comfortably atop the water.
"Now we're fighting on my battlefield." Kisame said as blood had stained on both sides of his mouth, now more visible because of water around his face.
Rei merely extended one hand. Several thick, golden chains erupted from behind him.
The chains shot across the water like living serpents. Kisame swung Samehada repeatedly, smashing two chains apart while twisting his body to evade another three. Yet each broken chain was immediately replaced by two more, forcing him steadily backward despite the advantage his water domain granted him.
Itachi who had just landed a few meters away from the confrontation between the two was looking at the chains produced by this unknown man with eyes wide as saucers. All that was remaining were the aliens to come out now.
The adamantine chains had vanished a long time ago, and now it was back. Now Itachi realized what kind of person they were facing. An actual Uzuamaki clan member. Even Kisame, who had heard about them couldn't believe that someone of that clan was still alive as he too had heard tales of their massacre.
From the previous owner of Samehada he had heard how terrifying the Uzumaki clan was. Now he was seeing one in real life.
"Who are you? What do you want? I don't remember bullying someone of your clan ever." Kisame said, still being cocky while trying to recover from the previous attack and making a plan to take this lunatic down.
"The clan doesn't exist, thanks to your village's contribution towards that. Who am I isn't important, what is important is are you both ready to face my wrath?" Rei said, of course, in a much different voice so that he wouldn't be recognized.
"Bold words coming from someone who has hidden his face." Itachi said.
"And bold words coming from people who are delusional to think that they are fighting for something greater than themselves." Rei replied and this made both of them twitch a bit. They didn't understand what was this man/boy meant by those words, but for some reason they felt like they were exposed.
Kisame formed another seal.
Water Release: Water Clone Technique!
Five identical copies emerged from the surrounding lake before attacking simultaneously from different directions. The genuine Kisame disappeared beneath the surface, preparing another technique while the clones attempted to overwhelm the mysterious opponent through sheer numbers.
Rei calmly raised both hands.
A swirling sphere of compressed chakra formed within his right palm.
Rasengan!
His left hand crackled violently.
Chidori!
He disappeared once again through Shunshin, reappearing directly between two incoming clones. The Rasengan pulverized one clone into exploding water while Chidori pierced another cleanly through the chest. Before the remaining clones could react, Rei vanished again, repeatedly crossing the battlefield as every clone was destroyed within mere seconds.
Rei had enough chakra and the use of Senjutsu was already keeping him on peak form always. Itachi was looking at the battle with surprise at every turn. He had noticed that this person didn't even look at him, not that he could because of the visor, but he felt like this person's eye should at least look him and then he could lock in Tsukuyomi, but there wasn't even a single glance from him.
And this person also seemed very resistant to genjutsu. While Itachi was analyzing, Kisame wasn't having a good time. This person knew such techniques from the get-go. Where did Konoha even find this guy.
By now, both of them had realized that this person was chasing them from Konoha, because the two techniques Rasengan and Chidori were very exclusive to Konoha. Especially, the Rasengan.
So Itachi, more importantly, was trying to figure out who this person was as they didn't have any knowledge of an Uzumaki hailing from Konoha. Naruto was and Uzumaki and they were sure that this person wasn't him. Kisame dipped down into the water.
Suiton: Senshokukō [Water Release: A Thousand Feeding Sharks] | {A much more powerful version of the Water Release: Five Feeding Sharks, the user creates a number of sharks out of water that enter into a wall formation and rain down to attack the opponent.}
Five enormous shark-shaped torrents burst upward from the lake, roaring toward Rei with terrifying speed. Simultaneously, Kisame leaped from beneath the surface while Samehada absorbed the surrounding chakra-rich water, its scales standing erect in anticipation of the coming clash.
Rei inhaled deeply. Natural energy surged through every cell of his transformed body.
Instead of retreating, he descended directly toward the incoming sharks. Each chakra blast carried enough force to shatter the water constructs apart while every kick dispersed another. The final shark collided directly against Rei's armored shoulder, only for the adaptive suit and Thor's physique to absorb the impact almost effortlessly.
"...Impossible!"
Kisame swung Samehada downward with both hands.
The blade connected. Only... It didn't cut.
Samehada struck Rei's forearm and rebounded violently as though it had slammed against an indestructible wall. Before Kisame recovered, Rei seized the enormous sword with his bare hand.
"...What?"
Thor's overwhelming strength completely overpowered Kisame's grip.
With one violent pull, Samehada was ripped from his hands before Rei hurled both sword and owner in opposite directions. The shark-man crashed across the flooded forest while Samehada embedded itself several hundred meters away into the trunk of a gigantic tree.
"Itachi-san!"
For the first time since joining Akatsuki...
Kisame genuinely called for help.
A flock of black crows suddenly erupted across the battlefield. Shuriken hidden among them shot toward Rei from multiple blind spots while a stream of black flames ignited across the forest.
Amaterasu.
Rei never once looked toward Itachi.
Instead, Karin's sensory perception combined with Sage Mode continuously painted every chakra movement within his mind. He tracked Itachi entirely through those senses, instantly teleporting away through Flying Thunder God before the black flames consumed his previous position.
Yes, Rei had already marked many places around in order to survive the fight which he had calculated to happen from long ago. Meanwhile, Itachi figured it out too that this person was avoiding him using Senjutsu and Uzumaki sensory ability he was easily able to figure his moves out.
Rei appeared directly before Kisame once more.
Golden chains erupted again, this time wrapping around the shark-man's arms, torso and legs before tightening with crushing force. Kisame struggled violently, muscles bulging beneath his skin as the chains refused to loosen despite his monstrous strength.
"Who the fuck are you?" Kisame, now enraged, shouted.
"Your conscience." Rei replied. Itachi in order to free Kisame had to use Amaterasu on the adamantine chains and Rei had to let go of the chains and thus freeing Kisame. Rei in the next moment, would go after Itachi and both confront each other with just kunai.
After a small confrontation, Rei at one point put his face forward near his ears and whispered.
"..."
Itachi, who had been fighting serious all this time was taken aback by the sudden whisper of words. Itachi's calm expression cracked. His Sharingan widened almost imperceptibly. Before he could utter a single question, Rei violently twisted his wrist.
Clang!
Their kunai locked together before Rei suddenly released his own weapon altogether. Itachi instinctively overextended. That single mistake was all Rei needed.
"Hiraishin no Jutsu!"
A yellow flash illuminated the battlefield. Rei vanished from directly before Itachi and instantly appeared behind Kisame, whose attention had remained fixed upon the confrontation between the two masked figures.
"...What—?!"
Too late.
Rei's armored fist slammed directly into Kisame's ribs.
BOOOOM!!
The impact detonated the surrounding water.
An enormous white pillar erupted into the sky as Kisame's body skipped violently across the artificial lake, smashing through countless trees before disappearing deep into the forest beyond. Several ribs audibly cracked despite Kisame's monstrous durability, while blood sprayed across the flooded battlefield.
He stopped on the edge of the same flood which he had created and after being dragged through the ground. Even Pain wasn't able to handle a simple sage punch easily, imagine someone reinforced by both Thor's physique and Sage Transformation.
It was a nightmare fore anyone. Even that legendary family would find it hard, let alone Kisame.
But Rei wasn't done with it. He reappeared again and this time he had Rasengan in his hand, glowing with full strength.
The Sage-enhanced Rasengan slammed directly into Kisame's abdomen. The compressed chakra exploded outward. The surrounding water twisted into a gigantic spiral as Kisame was driven hundreds of meters downward like a falling meteor.
BOOOOOOOM!!
