Chapter 112: What the Hell? She Already Stepped Into the Divine Realm?
A critical hit was a multiplier.
It amplified damage based on the original attack, producing twofold—or even greater—explosive power.
In truth, even if Ogerpon hadn't struck Lucario's weak point, that punch alone would still have been enough to knock her out.
Ogerpon simply didn't want to injure them seriously, so she chose the simplest method possible to end the battle.
"Ogerpon is special. This fighting style was designed specifically for her."
Sora walked over to the dazed Korrina and waved a hand in front of her face, trying to snap her back to reality.
The knowledge and experience surrounding critical strikes were essentially Ogerpon's exclusive domain.
The other Pokémon on Sora's team couldn't understand it at all.
How could she use one unit of force to produce three—or even more—units of damage?
"What does it mean to inject energy directly into the opponent's body?"
"And how do you seize an opponent's opening and finish them instantly in a split-second battle?"
"Is this really something Pokémon can do?"
After hearing Sora's explanation, Korrina's immediate reaction was this:
"Could this be… the legendary ultimate martial art?"
The "technique" and "power" of Pokémon.
What martial artists pursued their entire lives was precisely that conceptual realm of divine combat skill.
Defeating enemies with nothing but fists, footwork, and physical techniques.
In other words—
fighting by strengthening one's body solely through Pokémon energy, without relying on conventional moves.
"What Ogerpon just did… wasn't that exactly it?"
She swatted away attacks barehanded.
Crushed a giant Aura Sphere with brute force.
Faced the combined assault of Machoke and Lucario with unimaginable footwork and combat skill.
And finally—
with one palm strike and a single finger—
she shattered the bodies Pokémon were so proud of.
"Luca…"
"Yoo…"
At that moment, Lucario and the others slowly regained consciousness.
Ogerpon had obviously shown mercy.
Aside from a lingering ache where they'd been struck, the three Pokémon weren't seriously injured at all.
That was why they recovered so quickly from unconsciousness.
"You alright?"
Sora checked their condition with concern, then nodded.
"Mm. Just as I expected. A little rest and they'll be fine."
"Master!!"
Suddenly, Korrina bowed deeply toward Sora.
"Please accept me as your disciple! I'm begging you!!"
"Huh?!"
Sora was completely caught off guard.
"No, no, this is way too sudden!"
"I'm serious!"
Korrina firmly believed Sora had touched the divine realm sought by martial artists.
This was the ultimate art her grandfather—and countless martial artists—had pursued their entire lives without ever reaching.
Now that she had encountered it—
how could she possibly let it go?!
"As long as you agree, I'll do anything!"
That line almost triggered Sora's instincts so hard he nearly blurted out:
"You really only think about yourself, huh?"
But clearly, this wasn't the right moment for a joke like that.
Sora told Korrina to calm down before asking why she wanted him as her master.
"The martial arts world's legend… divine technique?"
Sora rubbed his chin.
This was the first time he'd ever heard of such a thing, and he found it rather interesting.
"You mean what Ogerpon displayed just now is the supreme realm all martial artists dream of?"
"Yes!"
Korrina clenched her fists and nodded vigorously.
"This is absolutely it! It's exactly the same as what Grandpa described!"
"Uh…"
Sora thought for a moment.
"No moves. Fighting purely by reinforcing the body with Pokémon energy…"
That really did resemble Ogerpon's style.
"And every movement and strike carries terrifying power, without being confined to skills or elemental interactions."
Korrina added excitedly:
"Incredible combat instinct and split-second reactions, terrifying observation and judgment—Lady Ogerpon displayed all of it!"
Especially that final technique used to defeat the three Pokémon.
In the eyes of a Fighting-type Trainer like Korrina, it was no exaggeration to call it divine.
"Now that you mention it… it really does sound like that!"
Even Sora was beginning to wonder.
Had his Ogerpon really grasped some sort of divine martial realm?
Seriously?
"Ponii?"
Ogerpon tilted her head in confusion.
She had absolutely no idea what Korrina was talking about.
She had just fought normally.
At most, she and Sora had thoroughly analyzed the core principles behind Ivy Cudgel.
And her next goal—
was to unravel the mystery of how the masks altered her attributes and abilities, then completely absorb that power into herself.
At that point, Ogerpon would no longer need to switch masks temporarily to unleash her strength.
"Seeing through appearances and uncovering the hidden power beneath them."
"Grandpa said that if I can achieve that, I'll have stepped through the gates of the martial arts hall."
And this "hall" wasn't some easy-to-reach level.
Even Gurkinn had merely touched the threshold without fully mastering it.
Across the entire world of martial artists, only a handful of people—like Kanto Elite Four member Bruno—had ever entered that domain.
"And every one of them is an enormously influential figure in the martial arts world!"
But—that was only the beginning.
Sora's Ogerpon had gone beyond merely stepping into the hall.
She had walked farther than almost anyone else.
"The way you describe it, people would think my Ogerpon was cultivating Ultra Instinct or something."
"Ultra Instinct?"
Korrina didn't understand, but it sounded impressive.
"What's that? Is it the name of some divine martial art?"
"Cough, cough. I was just joking. Don't take it seriously."
Ultra Instinct came from the Dragon Ball universe—also known as the Technique of the Gods.
Of course, Sora was only making a joke.
Pokémon and Dragon Ball really didn't mix.
Still…
martial arts principles tended to converge eventually.
Ultra Instinct itself is impossible…
But some of its combat philosophy actually has merit.
For example—
separating consciousness from the body to achieve ultimate reaction speed.
If Ogerpon could truly accomplish that—
then she might be able to predict enemy attacks in advance, avoiding unavoidable attacks without conscious thought or judgment.
She might even find the safest point within large-scale battlefield attacks and reduce damage to the minimum possible level.
Thinking about all this—
Sora suddenly felt that Ogerpon's future training direction could absolutely continue digging deeper into this path.
