I Can Summon Legendary Figuress

Chapter 126: Builder or destroyer

"Ethan Algar... I don’t believe that’s the name of any elder I’m familiar with, even among the shadow elders."

As the new group walked further into the estate, their eyes drifted across the surroundings, carefully taking in the overall atmosphere radiating from the various buildings scattered throughout the grounds, the sound of construction humming steadily somewhere in the background.

Within these past few months, considerable progress had clearly been made in developing the estate into something functional and lasting.

The clan’s main hall stood fully constructed at this point, training grounds continued expanding steadily, residential quarters were being erected in stages, and several small businesses had already begun operating openly along the estate’s inner streets, vendors calling out prices to the few passersby wandering between stalls.

None of that had been visible from outside the gate.

"Quite impressive."

The older man leading the group remarked, stroking his chin thoughtfully, a faint trace of greed flickering behind his eyes.

"But it’s lacking in aesthetics. Probably some wealthy tycoon carrying the Algar name, throwing money around without any real understanding of proper presentation."

He added, a wide smile spreading across his face. If his assumption held true, whoever had orchestrated this rebuilding likely held no genuine connection to the clan’s former ruling structure. At best, some distant relative attempting to buy his way into relevance, throwing coin at a project he barely understood.

Far too many comfortable amenities had been extended to people who, in his estimation, had no business feeling this important.

"The Seventh Elder only needs to say the word. I’m certain whoever’s currently in charge will cede command to you without hesitation."

One of the lackeys trailing behind the older man offered the comment with an obvious, currying smile, eager to please, glancing nervously between the elder and the impressive buildings around them.

Indeed, the man leading this particular group held the title of an elder within the fallen Algar clan. With his former peers systematically hunted down and captured, he’d chosen instead to remain hidden from public view entirely, carefully concealing his true identity in the process, drifting from town to town under a borrowed name for months.

"That’s only natural. Come along. We need to speak with this so-called Ethan."

The Seventh Elder said, studying the clan’s main hall for a moment longer before breaking into confident, purposeful strides toward it, his followers scrambling slightly to keep pace behind him.

He had no intention of spending even a single day in ordinary communal housing while present here. Taking control of the estate felt like the only sensible course of action available to him.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Upon reaching the main hall, the Seventh Elder noticed no guards stationed anywhere nearby. Instead, portions of the building itself appeared to still be under active construction, workers moving steadily across scaffolding overhead.

"You there, young man. Is there someone with actual authority I could speak to here?"

The Seventh Elder called out toward a young man holding a chisel, pausing his work briefly to glance up.

The young man studied him for a moment, visible confusion crossing his expression, before his gaze drifted toward the heavy bags slung across the shoulders of the elder’s trailing followers. He quickly concluded this particular group had only just arrived, likely fresh off whatever road had brought them here.

With that in mind, he pointed them toward a young woman nearby, her long black hair pulled back, dressed in a fitted spandex top while she carefully worked through a stack of inventory records.

As the old man approached her directly, Hela struggled internally with how best to respond. At first glance, she’d already recognized exactly who he was, though she kept that recognition carefully hidden beneath a neutral expression, her hands never once pausing their steady work through the inventory sheets.

She sat at tier 6 herself, after all. No level of disguise, however carefully constructed, could realistically fool someone operating at the same tier.

"Quite a beautiful place you all have built here, young lady."

The old man began, a proud, satisfied expression settling across his face as he took in the young woman standing before him with obvious excitement.

This was the person supposedly holding actual authority? A mere child? This entire operation clearly left something to be desired.

"I was wondering if you might point me toward the leader of this place, Sir Ethan. I’m an old friend of his."

The old man added, clearly attempting to manipulate Hela into revealing more than she otherwise would.

Hela, however, remained entirely unbothered by the attempt. Instead, she simply pointed upward, toward the top of the main hall, where a young man stood holding a builder’s hammer, working steadily alongside the rest of the construction crew.

"That’s him? He’s practically a child..."

The Seventh Elder couldn’t help but feel a genuine wave of shock wash over him. Had the royals lost their minds entirely? Handing an entire noble clan over to some random boy who wasn’t even connected to the original ruling bloodline?

’This actually works in my favor.’

After a brief moment of visible shock, the Seventh Elder composed himself, letting out a slow, deliberate sigh. Yes, Ethan was young. But that fact alone only made seizing control away from him considerably easier to accomplish, or so he assumed, having underestimated younger men before and paid little price for it.

Before the day’s end, this entire estate would fall firmly under his control.

Or so he believed, standing there amid the sound of hammers and saws, entirely unaware of just how badly he’d misjudged the situation.

Later that even

As the work for the day was rounding up, he slowly approached Ethen with two of his mind smiling from ear to ear.

However as he came close enough a feeling of dread suddenly surged through his body forcing him to stop in his tracks.

Ethen’s blood pact and fear monger ability compounded whenever he killed a member of a family or clan, spreading terror through whomever was related.

In these past few months, there hadn’t been a scarcity of people trying to take away his territory and without fail all of them had been Algar clansmen.

The amount of algar blood on his hands was already enough to instill fear on anybody that looked at him, talk less of this person with bad intentions.
