Chapter 18
"Rumi?"
Berin called softly.
But Izumi didn't answer immediately.
"Rumiii!"
Berin shook her shoulders.
"Is your stomach hurting again?!"
Izumi, snapped out of her thoughts, blinked several times.
Then shook her head.
"No."
"I'm fine."
"I just remembered something."
Berin looked at her suspiciously.
"Remembered what?"
"It's nothing."
Izumi looked away.
"Let's keep going."
Berin still looked doubtful.
But eventually, she nodded.
"Umm... alright."
They resumed walking toward the Adventurer Guild.
Not long afterward, they arrived.
The Guild building was much larger than Izumi had imagined.
People were moving everywhere.
Some wore armor.
Others carried magic staffs.
There were even ordinary-looking citizens.
Izumi observed her surroundings.
"Are they all adventurers?"
"Not all of them."
Berin pointed toward a crowded quest board.
"There are also regular citizens who come to post requests or quests."
"Oh."
Izumi nodded slightly.
Then her gaze was drawn to something deeper inside the building.
A collection of large magic stones arranged in a circle resembling a gate.
The stones emitted a bluish glow.
"Then..."
Berin smiled.
"Want to see a dungeon?"
Izumi nodded immediately.
"Yes."
They walked toward the gate.
Once they arrived, Berin proudly pointed at it.
"There."
"This is the dungeon entrance."
Izumi examined it closely.
"Oh..."
Then she asked,
"So when we go in, do we immediately encounter monsters?"
Berin chuckled.
"No."
"It's not like that."
"Then?"
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"When you enter, you'll arrive at the Save Zone."
"A safe area."
"There are adventurers stationed there as guards."
Izumi looked curious.
"They get paid?"
"Yes."
"They're paid directly by the System."
"Oh."
Izumi nodded again.
The longer she stayed in this world, the stranger it seemed.
"Wait."
Berin suddenly remembered something.
"You have an Adventurer Card, right?"
"Yeah."
"Try pressing both sides."
Izumi followed the instruction.
Instantly, her Adventurer Card began glowing.
A transparent window appeared before her.

Izumi's eyes widened slightly.
"Oh."
"So this is what it looks like."
Berin nodded.
"There."
"That's your complete status."
She pointed at one section.
"Adventure Tokens are a special currency used by adventurers."
"In addition to gold and silver coins."
Izumi looked at the text.
"Oh."
"And Loot Drop?"
"That's where monster loot is stored."
"If a monster drops an item, it automatically goes into your card."
Izumi thought for a moment.
"What if someone steals the card?"
Berin blinked.
"Steals it?"
"Yeah."
"What if it contains a lot of money?"
Berin laughed.
"Ooh."
"So you think someone can take another person's money just by stealing their Adventurer Card?"
"Yeah."
"That's impossible."
Izumi tilted her head.
"Why?"
"Because the System watches over it."
Berin explained casually.
"If someone forces or threatens another person to take their money or the contents of their card..."
"The System punishes them."
"It deletes all of their adventurer data."
"Including their money, tokens, and every achievement they've earned."
Izumi remained silent for a few seconds.
"That's surprisingly advanced."
Berin smiled.
"It has happened many times before."
"That's why almost nobody dares to try it anymore."
"They realize they're fighting against the System itself."
"Oh right."
Izumi asked again.
"What happens if the adventurer dies?"
"If the owner dies, the card disappears as well."
"Oh."
"And if it's lost?"
"You just go to the Guild."
"They'll issue a new one."
"For free."
Izumi asked again.
"What about the old card?"
"It disappears."
"And everything stored inside it?"
"It all remains and gets transferred to the new card."
Berin was starting to feel overwhelmed.
Inside her head, she complained.
She never stops asking questions, does she...
But then her eyes drifted back to Izumi's status window.
And she froze.
"...Eh?"
Berin stepped closer.
"You have skills?"
"Yeah."
"Wait."
"Seriously?"
Izumi looked confused.
"Why?"
Berin pointed at the screen with a trembling finger.
"Normally, ordinary humans can't have skills."
Izumi blinked.
"So?"
"You're not a Player, right?"
Berin looked at the status again.
"It says Adventurer here."
"That means you're a normal adventurer."
"Not a Player."
"But..."
Berin swallowed.
"You have two skills."
"How is that possible?!"
Izumi shrugged.
"Is that unusual?"
"Of course it's unusual!"
Berin's voice nearly echoed throughout the building.
Everyone immediately turned to look at her.
"Aha... it's nothing, really..."
Then Berin lowered her voice.
"A normal human possessing skills is extremely abnormal!"
"Unless... you're not human."
Berin looked at the race section again.
"Race... Human."
She stared at Izumi.
"Then how is this possible?"
Meanwhile...
Izumi was thinking about something entirely different.
So the System can detect my skills.
Infinite Creation makes sense.
But the other one...
Absolute Immortal?
What exactly is that?
She had never tried using it.
She didn't even know what it did.
"Rumi."
Berin's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
"How long have you had those skills?"
Izumi answered honestly.
"Since I was born into this world."
Of course, she meant since she reincarnated.
But Berin interpreted it differently.
Her eyes widened immediately.
"Since you were a baby?!"
"That's impossible..."
Berin looked extremely excited.
"If this information reaches the Guild Association..."
"It could change many things."
"I have to report it."
She immediately turned around.
But before she could take a step.
Izumi grabbed her hand.
Berin was startled.
"Eh?"
Izumi looked at her seriously.
"Don't."
"Please."
For several moments, Berin remained silent.
Then she slowly nodded.
"Alright."
"I won't tell anyone."
Izumi let out a relieved sigh.
"Thank you."
They continued walking away from the Guild Hall.
Berin still looked curious.
"If you don't mind me asking..."
"What exactly are your skills?"
"Combat skills?"
Izumi thought for a moment.
"The first one is called Infinite Creation."
Berin immediately became interested.
"Creation?"
"Does it work like a Scroll of Creation?"
Izumi tilted her head.
"What's that?"
"A scroll that can create potions, weapons, accessories, and many other things."
"As long as you have the required materials."
Izumi immediately understood.
"Oh."
"Then it's pretty similar."
Berin's eyes sparkled.
"Wow."
"It may not be a combat skill."
"But it's still incredibly useful."
"You're right."
Izumi nodded.
"And the second skill?"
Berin asked again.
Izumi sighed.
"That's the problem."
"I don't even know how to use it."
"What's it called?"
"Absolute Immortal."
Berin repeated the name quietly.
"Absolute Immortal..."
"What is that?"
"No idea."
"I don't know either."
"Is it an Active Skill?"
"No. It's a Passive Skill."
Berin remained silent for quite a while.
"Immortal..."
"Eternal..."
"If it's really what the name implies..."
But she didn't finish her sentence.
Because without realizing it...
They had already arrived at their destination.
An ice cream shop stood directly in front of them.
Izumi pointed at the building.
"We're here."
Berin blinked.
"Eh?"
"Oh right."
"I didn't even notice."
She smiled.
"Let's go in."
The two of them stepped into the ice cream shop.
