The waking mind rested and so the instinct stepped to the forefront.

The primitive mind was pleased yet again and would remain so for a long, long time. What accomplishments his thinking self had achieved. Lust and love, forged into strong bonds that were going to last, provided he stayed course. These women were so much better than the regular, so much more direct in their desires, so much more wild and yet eager to be tamed.

Reason was evidently useful, more useful than the instinct had given it credit for. If reason could just remember what it had lost in its arrogant monopoly, then perhaps they could achieve true greatness again.

Until then, the instinct would work in the background, unacknowledged until acknowledged, unseen until seen, removed and yet present.

All would reveal itself, in time.

For now, the body would grow from the experiences accumulated.

The mind had grown sharper, the body pushed ever closer to the threshold. Would it stop there, would it break, or would it be the limiter that was broken?

The waking mind trained and the unthinking mind adjusted. A touch to the throat spawned yet another version in the endless chain of Alexs. Still, there was little discernible difference between the version from the first day on the island and this current body. How long would it stay that way?

The instinct didn’t care to engage in speculation. Changes would occur. It was natural and inevitable. Change was induced, especially in women that had given themselves so utterly to him.

The connections going out from Alex’s own soul were more numerous and stronger than ever before. The first slave, the vixen, the one that had craved her place, the fulfilled nymphomaniac, the adorable submissive, and the haughty toy, all of them were linked to him by leashes of their own commitment. Only the one leading to the unliberated lady was not yet firm. It was enough to give her a nudge, however.

Tess, Charlotte, and Sofia were all settled quantities. They were still developing based on that first nudge. Valeria, Ashley, Evelyn and Yahui, those four required guidance.

Their Master was eager to provide.

Valeria - he had a path for her now. She was direct, knew what she wanted and went to get it. Not typically things associated with the direction the instinct had in mind for her. Yet, her tendency to prowl, to climb, and to live freely all spoke to what he saw her at.

The path of a feline would suit her well. What kind of cat, that would be chosen over the time that passed.

The soul of the tall sex slave considered, then nodded and began to climb the path of liberation.

Onto Ashley, the unthinking mind wandered.

The girl was mousy.

That was literally it.

An easy decision with no contemplation. Crafty and easily startled. Small, adorable, meek, all of those things and more. She was an adorable little mouse and now she would become his.

Her soul took the nudge with such enthusiasm it began to zoom in circles, before fading from the attention of the unthinking mind.

Evelyn was next.

Here, different intuitions vied for control.

A woman like her deserved a body worthy of her self-esteem. Was it the righteousness of an angel that suited her? The haughty dominance of a demon? Perhaps something like the reign of the night, enacted by the vampires?

No, it was one intuition that came to the forefront, almost more from her own soul than his nudging. The pride, the knowledge that she should settle only for the best, all of that belonged to her. She was a dragon that claimed what she desired, what she knew she deserved.

Yes, she would be a dragon. A dragon in humanoid, highly breedable form, but a dragon nonetheless. The soul roared with agreement, hoarding the power to change its physical container.

And then there was only Yahui left.

Hers was the grace of a lady. A rare quality among the tomboys Alex had made his and one that should be applauded, emphasized her.

Although not in her homeland, in a country near it there was a legend of a lady of ice and snow. Cold grace fit Yahui well, a calm and collected surface, under which the awake and playful mind move with the elegance of water streaming under a frozen surface.

Yes, a lady of snow she would be, a beacon of cool radiance in this tropical paradise.

The soul took to the suggestion with a slow and courteous nod.

And so the choices were made.

The work was done, the instincts pulled back.

The underlying mind settles within reality once more.

With the dawn comes a new chance at expanding life.
