Like Mother Unlike Daughter
“...So…you finally decide to show your face…” Elizabella says as her face contorts into a look of deep seething anger.
“...That I have…” Violet bluntly states as she tries to let her deep seated anger at her mother take over the fear she had of her.
“So, are you here to apologize? If you beg for my forgiveness and renounce the heathens that you waste your time with then I might consider the possibility of letting you back into the house and reinstating your allowance.”
“...No…” Violet immediately retorts.
“...What do you mean…No?” Elizabella looks as if she were trying to find some secret meaning in what Violet was saying that could have Elizabella come to any other conclusion than accepting what she just heard from her daughter as reality.
“...I mean no…” Violet says as she starts to let her anger get the best of her as she continues to speak through gritted teeth. “...You were an absolutely atrocious parent and I have nothing to apologize for…If anything, you should be the one apologizing to me for the Hell you put us through…”
“...How dare you…” Elizabella spits out as she loses whatever remaining control over her anger she somehow still had. “How dare you! You insolent, foolish child! How dare you defy your mother! I am the one who brought you into this world! And this is the thanks I get? This is how you repay me?”
“While it is true that you technically did bring me into this world, you did not raise me! You always had Baldemort or one of the other servants do it for you! Heck, even though father wasn’t the best parent either, you aren’t even in the same universe of quality as he is! He may be a narcissistic egomaniac in his own right, but at the very least he actually enjoys spending time with me and likes me for who I am!”
“Don’t you dare compare me to that lazy, good for nothing, excuse of a man!”
“What are you going to do about it then? Are you going to kick me out again? Are you going to somehow double cut off my allowance?” Violet says with a smug grin on her face. She’s been wanting to do this for so long and she was enjoying every moment of it.
“...You…You…How dare you…I can’t even…you are the worst…” Elizabella’s sword rattled against the ground after she dropped it. The Queen then followed suit as her anger got so bad that her legs gave out on her and she just sat there in quiet contemplation as she tried to somehow rationalize the situation she found herself in.
After sitting there for what felt like hours, but was actually only a couple minutes she finally decided on a course of action.
“...I…I….am going to kill you…” Elizabella said with the most unhinged expression that Violet’s ever seen on her face. Factoring in how many times Violet’s seen her mother angry that was truly saying something. It’s almost as if this conversation broke her and that somehow caused her to snap further than she ever had before…This wasn’t just a look of simple rage or frustration…This was straight up a look of murderous intent…It wasn’t even a look of anger really…Elizabella has shattered into a machine with the single minded goal of killing her daughter by any means necessary…
“...I want you to be dead…and then I’ll never have to think about you again…Once you're gone…this will all be over…and things can finally go back to being simple again…”
With the very last string she had tying her to humanity broken, Elizabella used her powers to pick up her sword and began to run towards Violet as quickly as her legs would carry her.
“...Oh shit!” Violet shouts as she activates her laser greatsword just in the nick of time to block her mother’s overhead sword swing. “...Mom…I may…hate you with every fiber of my being and can’t wait to see you behind bars…I…I don’t want you to die…”
“...Well that feeling isn’t mutual…I brought you into this world…and I can just as easily take you out of it…Don’t you see how much more difficult you are making things for me? If you're gone I won't have any reason to be disappointed in you anymore…If only I still had a child that actually took after me…”
“DON’T!” Violet shouts as she pushes her mother’s sword back and causes her to stagger backwards a few steps. “DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK HIS NAME!”
“Why shouldn’t I? Elliot was a much better child than you…He was calm and collected…he was charming…he was obedient…I wish he was still here instead of you…”
“...Stop it…” Violet says as she blocks another sword swing while tears begin to stream down her cheeks. “...Please…just stop…”
“...If only he wasn’t foolish enough to accept that duel…I honestly respected his dedication to his beliefs, but I just wish things would have gone differently…”
“...That’s…that’s it!” Violet says as she swings her sword at her mother this time. “Sword weight times 1 million!”
Elizabella blocks this using her own sword, but only temporarily. Violet’s attack was actually strong enough to shatter Elizabella’s sword into pieces.
“...Me and Elliot used to get along so well…” Violet somehow manages to say as tears and snot streamed down her face. “...I remember the times we used to play in the garden when we were kids…We were inseparable…but then…BUT THEN…YOU HAD TO COME ALONG AND RUIN EVERYTHING!”
After being knocked onto the ground Elizabella shook her head as if she were just released from a trance.
“...Wait…what…what are you doing?” Elizabella looks up at Violet and the sword in her hand and then down at the remains of her own shattered blade. “...Come on…let’s talk about this…”
“DON’T YOU DARE INTERRUPT ME! I WASN’T DONE TALKING!” Violet shouts. “We got along so, so well until you groomed him to be your successor! Until you molded him into another you! He used to be so kind and considerate, but after you got to him he became just as horrible as you are!”
“...I…I was only doing what was best for the company…”
“I…DON’T…GIVE A FUCK…ABOUT THIS COMPANY!” Violet shouts as she swings her sword above her head. She had the full intention of swinging it over her mother’s head and being done with this…
…but then…she noticed her mother fliched…For the first time in her life Violet saw that her mother was afraid of her…Things felt normal when they were both yelling at each other, but this was going too far…
“...I…I can’t…I can’t do this…” Violet said as she began to sob again. “...Why did things have to come to this…God, why couldn’t you have just been a good mother? Things could have been so easy…But no…you decided to become one of the most horrible people on the planet…Just…just why? Why are you like this?”
“...I…I…” Elizabella’s eyes dart around as she tries to find a way to weasel her way out of this. “...I can say the same thing about you!”
Elizabella grabs one of the shards of her sword and tries to stab it through Violet’s stomach…but she wasn’t fast enough…In the blink of an eye…her daughter was gone…
Violet sits there trying to collect her thoughts as she tries to remember what just happened.
…One second she was talking to her mother…but then in less than the blink of an eye she was here…
She then gets a clue and is able to put everything together pretty quickly…that clue being a specific blonde sugar loving runner…
“...Candi…did…did you just do that?” Violet asks with genuine curiosity.
“...Yeah…I guess I did…” Candi says as she tries to catch her breath. “...That’s what friends are for…I mean…I couldn’t just watch one of my friends die, right?”
“...If that was you then…that’s the fastest you’ve ever gone…” Violet says as her eyes open wide. “...Candi…I think your power just awakened…”
“...Oh…OH!” Candi looks down at her hands and then her feet with a feeling of awe. “...If this is true…and with what Jack said back in class…Wouldn’t that make me one of the strongest heroes in the world or something?”
“...I don’t know? Probably…” Violet looks around and notices it was only the two of them sitting there…and that they were both directly outside of the throne room. “...Um…Where are the others?”
“...Oh, you mean Jack and the other students…They are still in there…” Candi says with a look of concern. “...I didn’t want to leave them alone, but I had to get you out of there…Your mom said she wanted to kill you…”
“...Thank you for that…” Violet says as she pats Candi on the shoulder. “...You rest up for a bit, but I’m heading back in there…”
“...No, I can help…” Candi begs as she tries to get up only to fall right back down again.
“...No…you aren’t used to awakening yet and it tired you out…Just sit tight…I’ll be fine…”
“...Oh…okay…” Candi says as she sits back down and closes her eyes. “...I mean, if you're sure you’ll be fine…”
Violet takes a deep breath and re-enters the throne room.
